If you're a permanent resident or citizen, your parents do not need a letter of authorization. They need copies of your birth certificate, their birth certificates and your PR card to be presented at the airport and POE to prove they're your immediate family members.

Avoid Lufthansa and all that. ET is your best choice at this time of Covid. Find out if they fly to Ottawa or Quebec, or fly to Toronto and take a train ride to Ottawa at the Union Station, it's part of the fun.

Have you tried calling vfs to confirm they received the courier payment and the forms you filled? You can also call them to know if the passport has been dispatched. If it has, you'll be given a UPS tracking number to track your passport.

Hi all. For people that have recently received their passports back from VFS, how long did it take from when you paid for courier and filled the form to when you received the passport. I don’t know why there’s been a delay in them sending my mom’s passport back.

Mine was delayed for about a week because for some reasons, they didn't get the mail containing the documents required for courier delivery. I had to resend the mail on Friday last week.

Try to call them early tomorrow morning to be sure they've received your mail and processed your passport for dispatch.

They dispatch passports on Mondays and Wednesdays. Call them tomorrow morning to be sure yours has been dispatched or processed for dispatch. You'll be given a UPS tracking number to track your passport. My mum's was dispatched yesterday morning and received today. Depending on your location, you may get your passport on Thursday (latest Friday) if it's dispatched tomorrow.

I just submitted today... Saying 2 to 3days. Will it be out by tomorrow or thursday. Flight is booked for friday, I am really confused now. Thinking I should change the flight day.

You'll get a mail from VFS stating that the decision envelop for your application has been received and is ready for collection. When you get the mail, you can call VFS or chat with them requesting for instructions on how to pay for their courier delivery service. You'll be sent another mail containing their account details, courier request form and other instructions.

Try to call again or send a mail to feedback.cannig@vfshelpline.com. They'll definitely respond.

I am PR too and applied for my mum and she got approved recently.

Please I have a situation. She submitted passport at lagos vac on Nov 9th and today we got email that passport is ready.

I am calling the vac as instructed, because they said physical visit are not allowed but they are not answering.

Please advise how your mum collected her passport. Did she get a message first,

Did she go back to the courier and then pay? Or she paid for everything the first time? If the latter is the case, what was the cost pls?

I have no idea of how they process stuff. Some people who just applied got their visas earlier than those who have applied for months, and we are all PRs.

Seriously I think you should send a mail. I've seen people on other forums with similar timeline as my mum's. They're prioritizing applications of immediate family members of Citizens/PRs.

Maybe they're still working on your mum's application. I didn't send a mail. But you can send a mail just as a reminder.

I think you should send them a mail. My mum applied from Nigeria. Wondering if you followed the covid-19 instructions (to enter COVID-19 as purpose of visit on the application form) for immediate family members of Citizens/PRs.

Yes counterfoil was issued last week. Paid for VFS in-house delivery service on Friday. Hopefully, we'll get the passport this week.

Applied Oct 19th, biometrics done Oct 22nd. Passport Request Oct 29th.

No need for the explanation since your are applying with your maiden name. Your marriage certificate is sufficient to support your change in marital status. However if you have documents bearing your marital name, include a cover note and a change of name affidavit.

Please I need your assistance. I intend applying for a Uk 6-month visit visa next week and I'll be using my maiden name. This is because, I got married three months ago and all my documents including my international passport still have my maiden name.

I addressed this in my cover letter by stating that "my maiden name is being used for the application because I recently got married and all my application documents still have my maiden name".

Please is this explanation necessary, sufficient and realistic?

Please I just got in touch with Ruhr University Bochum(RUB) requesting to know when we should expect admission notification but was told its gonna be early/mid september. Now I'm confused cos I don't know when and how they want us to get the blocked account and apply for visa.
