Kazrem: Am sorry if this sounds strange but I know many don't know yet they don't ask. I heard the bar code on the new #100 note can be used on Android phone to get information about Nigeria and her centenary. Please how is that done? UC browser is one of the 3rd party browser that has that feature. In your UC browser, click on the arrow button at the top right of your screen, a drop down menu will appear. Click on QR Code (Circled red). UC browser will make use of your camera to capture the code. When your camera starts, focus it on the QR Code at the back of the naira note (Circled black). Hold still until the code is captured. Once the code is captured, your camera will close and you will be directed to a website on UC browser. That's the centenary website.

Last week, I created a topic stating an error on the New ₦100 Website. https://www.nairaland.com/2063680/false-information-new-100-website I'm pleased to inform you that the error has been rectified. The Allianz Arena picture has been replaced with a picture of our very own Akwa-Ibom Stadium. This is a welcome development. This goes a long way in showing that the Social media platforms (Nairaland and the likes) are powerful tools in airing our views and opinions. We should try not to abuse this medium. Please let's make good and intelligent use of the social media platforms. Here's the link to the new website ₦100: http://sites.visualead.me/ngp_new/#001

Just this morning, I got the opportunity to have a feel of the new ₦100 note. As a tech savvy individual, I decided to scan the bar code printed at the back of the new note. I was impressed at the cool use of technology as I was directed to the website of the new ₦100 note. Going through the numerous photos on the web page, I came across a familiar picture. On a closer look, I realized that it was an aerial picture of the famous "Allianz Arena" stadium in Munich, Germany instead of the Akwa Ibom Stadium, Uyo. The stadium is being paraded as an achievement of Nigerian government, showing the Nigeria of today. This misinformation is highly unintelligent and embarrassing. Politics › Sydney Siege Ends As Police Raid Cafe (pics) by PapTzy(op): 7:45pm On Dec 15, 2014 |
Sydney (CNN) -- Australian special forces troops and police stormed the cafe where a self-styled Muslim cleric had been holding hostages early Tuesday, killing the gunman and ending a crisis that had paralyzed central Sydney for hours. A national security source in the United States said the combined military-police team entered the Lindt Chocolate Cafe from two directions early Tuesday morning and killed the man, identified by an official with direct knowledge of the situation as Man Haron Monis. Police didn't say if anyone else was hurt in the raid, but video shot by Australian media showed people being taken from the scene on stretchers, and Australian media reported some people may have been killed and others wounded. Police declined to comment to CNN but said on Twitter that details of the incident were to come. The raid ended the 16-hour standoff but left many other questions unanswered: What did the gunman want? Why did he choose the cafe as his target? And was he acting alone? Before the raid, Monis had demanded a flag and phone call with Prime Minister Tony Abbott, CNN affiliate Sky News Australia reported. He made the demands through hostages who contacted media organizations, Sky News reported.
Some hostages had also reportedly posted messages to social networking sites and the YouTube online video service. Police urged media early Tuesday not to show thevideos. Monis, also known as Sheikh Haron, pleaded guilty in 2013 to writing letters to relatives of Australian service members saying they were "Hitler's soldiers," according to Australian media reports. He was believed to be acting alone, and he didn't appear to be part of a broader plot, additional U.S. law enforcement and intelligence sources said Monday. How the siege unfolded Hundreds of police officers, including snipers, surrounded the cafe in Sydney's central business district shortly after the gunman took over the building at 10 a.m. Monday (6 p.m. ET Sunday).
Chilling images from Australian media on Monday showed people, believed to be hostages, with their hands pressed against the cafe's windows. They were holding up a black flag with Arabic writing on it reading, "There is no God but God and Mohammed is the prophet of God." Five hostages sprinted out of the cafe toward heavily armed police officers several hours into the standoff, sending the gunman into an agitated tirade, according to an Australian reporter. Chris Reason, a correspondent for CNN affiliate Seven Network, said the gunman became "extremely agitated" when he realized what had happened and "started screaming orders" at the remaining hostages. Reason said he could see the gunman pacing past the cafe's windows from his vantage point at the network's nearby offices. He described the man as unshaven, wearing a white shirt and black cap and carrying a shotgun. As night fell, lights went out in the cafe, Reason reported.
After a tense night, police could be seen early Tuesday throwing flash-bang grenades into the cafe in video aired by Seven Network. Gunfire erupted amid the chaos. After a brief episode of violence, the crisis appeared to ease, with police officers assuming a more relaxed pose, according to Australian media. Video captured medics working on some people and others being carried away in stretchers. Tiffiny Genders, a police reporter for 2GB radio, told CNN the freed hostages had been taken to hospitals under police guard. Wise words from the elders. Take it or leave it. If only our ladies would take heed, there would be less divorces and broken homes. • My daughter, don’t cause a separation between your man and his siblings; it could be dangerous for you when they finally speak with one voice.
• My daughter, I know that some of you girls don’t wish to marry a man whose mother is still alive, don’t ever think like that, if you do, well, I think your son’s wife-to-be should start wishing you're dead now.
• My daughter, listen to me, when I married your father, he was as tiny as his salary but I chose to grow with him and today, those cars out there are some of the results of what we started so little, together, and we’re proud looking at them.
• My daughter, there is this thing i see happening in your time, some of you girls now get pregnant before the wedding day, well, it never happened in our time because no matter what, we never opened our laps before the wedding.
• My daughter, well, yes, I once locked up the cloth of your father because I got to my limit of patience and that was the only thing I could do, but one thing I haven’t said was that we settled the issue that same day and that was the last time I tried that.
• My daughter, look up there. That’s the wedding picture of your father and I, look at him smiling, I know you've seen it many times but what you did not know is that your father was angry before taking this picture, I hope you find a man whose anger doesn't last till the next day.
• My daughter, when your Father was riding a bicycle, I was always happy to hop on it and ride with him, not because I didn't see those men in their little cars but because my eyes also saw those men trekking to their farms.
• My daughter, if you and your husband eat a little food with love, you both would be satisfied. Times are not always the same; support him in every phase he’s passing through.
• My daughter, don’t ever close your laps to your husband in bed , the day he paid your dowry was the day you lost your will to do so, don’t be stiff and try to satisfy him even if you were angry with him.
• My daughter, a man would respect you and be more proud of you if you’re learned and not totally dependent on him. Strive to make your own money and while you're at it, be humble.
• My daughter, under the cocoa tree that I did meet with your Father was open and good enough for our discussions, yes; it was open and good enough if you understand what I mean.
• My daughter, in our time, we had sexy legs and firm boobs to show our men , in fact, we had the finest ones, yet, when we dress, we cover those parts of our body, not because we were not civilized as you people would call it, but because we know that the eyes of men are hungry, many of them would only come, touch and go their way.
• My daughter, there is this thing you girls now practice, they say it’s feminism. Well, you can prove to be equal to a man in the society but please, not in your marriage because at my old age, I don’t want to start counting your husbands.
• My daughter, marriage is not a Rehabilitation Centre, if he’s not good enough for you before marriage, nothing he does would be good enough after marriage.
• My daughter, you can see I still wear my night gown , yes, because to my husband; your father, I still want to look sexy. So, take good care of your body, look good for your man and don’t look like a grandma after giving birth.
• My daughter, I’m your mother and still, I'm not interested in you coming to me always if anything goes wrong with your husband. Though nowadays I see some mothers controlling the homes of their sons and daughters, I would only say; shame on them!
• My daughter, for you to have a peaceful home and well-trained children, have one voice with your husband, join him to say NO when he’s saying NO before the kids but later when you both are alone, you can plead with him for a YES, if not, the children will see a loophole to misbehave, either to you or their father.
• My daughter, if you chose to live together with a man that you’re yet to be married to , and you are complaining that he hasn't proposed to you, oh, he already did. Whatever he said that made you start living with him was his proposal.
• My daughter, your generation does not see any pride in been a virgin before marriage , it’s a shame! Your father met me a virgin and he brought more yams to my parents and up till today, he’s still proud of me when we discuss in that direction.
• My daughter, I know that no man out there is complete, but when you are looking for your tall, slim, fair and handsome, if he’s a woman-beater, please, go for the short, fat, dark and ugly that will give you the respect you deserve as a woman.
• My daughter, know, learn and respect the culture and lifestyle of whoever you chose to marry . In some part of Africa, you knee down to greet your man’s parents while in some part outside Africa; you can even call them by their first name and ask for a handshake. Whatever they believe in, if you've chosen him, believe it with him also.
• My daughter, don’t ever try to date a married man, whether his excuse was that he doesn't find happiness with his wife or he would have married you if he had met you first, if you ever try it, I curse you already.
• My daughter, when I say over 52 years of marriage , it wasn't that I did not see any reason to leave your father, I saw a lot of them but I bear his faults, i forgave him to stay married.
• My daughter, these are part of the wisdom i have gathered over the years. and If I had taken my time to tell you all these, and your marriage doesn't last like that of your father and I, then I had wished i never gave birth to you. http://www.coachdexplorer.com/2014/12/24-elders-words-of-wisdom-for-ladies-in.html?m=1

This implies that over 60% of Nigerian drivers will go to jail because the agencies themselves don't perform the necessary tests before issuing the licence.
Corruption has also eaten deep into the system when officials are ready to collect 'shikini money' at the expense of the safety of the Nigerian populace.

Islam › Re: What is the Islamic Ruling On Taking Insurance Policies? by PapTzy(m): 8:24am On Nov 21, 2014 |
Wizeboy: Asalam Alaykum Waramotullahi Wabarakatuh
Commercial Insurance will strictly disallowed for Muslims.
Islam however been a complete religion and ways of life provide for all human needs. ISLAM has its kind of Insurance which is called "Takafu".
TAKAFU is defined as an Islamic insurance concept which is grounded in Islamic muamalat (Islamic banking), observing the rules and regulations of Islamic law. It is a co-operative system of reimbursement in case of loss, paid to people and companies concerned about hazards, compensated out of a fund to which they agree to donate small regular contributions managed on behalf by a Takaful Operator.
The principles of takaful are as follows:
a. Policyholders cooperate among themselves for their common good. b. Policyholders contributions are considered as donations to the fund (pool) c. Every policyholder pays his subscription to help those who need assistance. d. Losses are divided and liabilities spread according to the community pooling system. e. Uncertainty is eliminated concerning subscription and compensation. f. It does not derive advantage at the cost of others.
Takaful is always in form of cooperative or mutual insurance, where members contribute a certain sum of money to a common pool. The purpose of this system is not profits, but to uphold the principle of "bear ye one another's burden". Commercial insurance is strictly disallowed for Muslims (as agreed upon by most contemporary scholars) because it contains the following elements: 1. Al-Gharar (uncertainty) 2. Al-Maisir (gambling) 3. Riba (usury)
TAKAFU Insurance policy are common in Asia and Muslim countries and are also common in South Africa but some Nigeria insurance company have started seeing a need to establish TAKAFU policy in Nigeria as well. The only Nigeria Insurance company, which I know that offer TAKAFU Policy in Nigeria right now is Cornerstone Insurance Plc.
But I know so many Insurance companies might want to start in the future with the guidelines of TAKAFU Insurance policy that the National Insurance Commission released recently for any interested insurance companies that want to partake in such policy. You can read about the guideline on: http://naicom.gov.ng/content?id=147
ALMIGHTY ALLAH KNOW BEST!!!
Maa Salam My mum happens to be the Head of Takaful Division and Senior Manager at Cornerstone Insurance Plc. Hajia Thaibat Adeniran. She's the initiator of Takaful in Nigeria. |

Select your phone model from the list e.g. STL 100-1. You'd be taken to a download page. (i used a PC cut the link is MEGA). After downloading, back up your phone data either by using BB Link or by copying all files on your phone to an external drive. (I did the latter cut I didn't want any issue that comes with restoring backups) The downloaded leak (Autoloader) will be a zip file. Extract it, then connect your phone thru USB. Run the extracted .exe file. Wait till it finishes. (don't let the USB shake or remove it during this process) your new O.S is installed. |
