bigpicture001: This thought has a genuine direction..
I strongly believe INEC deliberately planned the date to confuse the igbos who traditionally travel to the South East for the Christmas holiday.
In the thought of the masterminds, if they igbos travel and switch polling units, it will destroy the strong national spread of the Obi supportive igbos (NDC) as against what it was for the LP then...
Its early Jan. and usually Lagos is super dry, if they rush to return to your base, you pay heavily for transport....
Tinubu got the igbos on the jungular Transfer your Voters Card to the South East, so that you will vote in the South East |

Ie those officers from Bornu state should work in Bornu state, those from ago should only work in Lagos and those from Rivers should only work in Rivers simple. Federal Police are already behaving like state police. There's no state you will go to in Nigeria where you won't see indigenes of the state serving in the force. They might not be the majority o, but you will find indigenes of the state in the NPF command |

AlphaTaikun: Indeed, it's good to know that the Calabar section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is already in full swing. Those who thought the project would not go beyond Lagos State would be confounded by their negative thought patterns.
The Ondo and Ogun States sections too have fully commenced. I would be more elated if the Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom State segments commence too. There are ALSO "two road spurs" already approved by the Federal Government linking Benin City in Edo State and Ebonyi State to the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and that's a big deal. The Calabar section of the highway too is to be linked directly to the Bakassi Deep Sea Port thereby opening up the economy of the South of South States. There's massive work ongoing in 2 section in Akwa Ibom So nah Edo, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers state remain wey work never start |

Politics › Re: President Bola Tinubu Rumoured To Dump Kashim Shettima Any Moment From Now by Parachoko: 9:40pm On Jun 04 |
Benjanni: Since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential ticket for the 2027 general elections, at the party's nationwide direct primaries which held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, uncertainty has continued to surround his choice of a running mate.
Several Political Observers have pointed to the President's delay in naming a Vice Presidential Candidate for 2027, fueling speculations about the future of Vice President Kashim Shettima, on the APC ticket.
The speculations have been heightened by emerging tensions within party ranks, and what some Observers describe as repeated "symbolic exclusions" of Shettima from key APC events.
Recall, that last year, outrage erupted in Maiduguri, after the APC North-East Zonal Public Hearing on Constitutional Amendments featured a banner displaying the images of President Tinubu, North-East APC Governors, and the party's National Legal Adviser, while omitting the Vice President. Party Stakeholders described the development as a serious slight, with the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, publicly condemning the omission.
Observers also recalled a similar incident in Gombe State, where Shettima's image was reportedly excluded from an APC event banner, sparking tensions within the party.
Amid the growing debate, a former sacked Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, has re-entered the political spotlight. Lawal was among prominent Northern Christian Politicians who opposed the APC's Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2023, and subsequently distanced himself from the party's Presidential campaign.
His recent attacks on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, have also triggered fresh political interpretations. Some Observers believe that the criticisms may be part of a broader effort to reposition himself within the evolving political equation, ahead of 2027, including speculations about a possible Vice Presidential ambition with President Tinubu.
Adding fuel to the debate, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, had in August 2025, suggested that Lawal was unhappy after failing to secure the Vice Presidential slot of the APC, in 2023.
"When Mr. President chose his Vice Presidential Candidate, I was one of those Babachir Lawal visited. He came to my house in Port Harcourt. What was his anger? His anger was that he thought Mr. President would have chosen him as the Vice Presidential Candidate. Having not done that, he let loose", Wike said on Channels Television's Politics Today.
As political calculations ahead of 2027 intensify, some Political Observers have linked Lawal's recent criticism of Atiku, as a case of betrayal and positioning himself for the Vice Presidential slot of the APC.
For now, the debate remains firmly in the realm of political speculations, even as the silence surrounding President Tinubu's eventual running mate continues to fuel intrigue across the country's political landscape. I stopped reading after seeing Babachir Lawal name as one of the frontrunner to replace Shettima A Beer Parlour Article |
