Politics › Re: 2027: After Four Years Of Pain, Why Would Nigerians Consider A Tinubu 2nd term by Parachoko: 12:06pm |
Ofunaofu: That Tinubu has been a disaster and woefully incompetent is, for many Nigerians, no longer a matter of debate.
For many Nigerians, voting for Tinubu in 2027 is not even under consideration. They are searching for alternatives, and there is no shortage of options. Their question is simple: if the first term has been a disaster, a catastrophe, what exactly is a second term supposed to look like?
What makes the prospect even more unsettling is that a second term would be his final constitutionally permitted term. With no reelection campaign to worry about, many Nigerians fear that whatever restraint exists today could vanish tomorrow.
To many, the Tinubu administration is the most insensitive government in Nigeria's history. It has overseen crushing economic hardship, rising hunger, worsening insecurity, and persistent power failures.
What angers many Nigerians even more is the perception that neither Tinubu nor his handlers have shown any genuine remorse.
Rather than acknowledging the depth of the suffering, they continue to tell Nigerians to endure the pain, hardship, and even the deaths that have accompanied the economic crisis, insisting that these are necessary sacrifices for a better future.
For struggling Nigerians, that message rings hollow. It is difficult to embrace promises of tomorrow when survival today has become a daily battle.
Now, as 2027 approaches, Nigerians are asking a question that strikes at the heart of the matter: if this is what Renewed Hope looks like, what on earth would "Renewed Hopelessness look like?
Obviously, the Renewed hope have turned out to be a Scam
If one term has left millions struggling to afford food, fuel, cooking gas, transportation, basic amenities, what reason is there to believe that another term would somehow deliver different results?
For many Nigerians, in 2027, a Tinubu second term is not a gamble worth taking. We Nigerians will Answer you with our Votes for Asiwaju on January 16 2027 |

CharlesCNG: Ekiti Is Decided: Electronic Transmission Points To Massive APC Victory .
https://www.nairaland.com/8694845/live-ekiti-election-update-thread With over 2,000 Form EC8A returns already uploaded to IREV and parsed and collated by Softsmart's SmartelectionGuardPro — representing more than 85% of all expected returns— the Ekiti governorship election is no longer a matter of suspense.
As at 8.30 P.M today,The numbers now point clearly in one direction.
Softsmart Enterprise Solutions, through Smart ElectionGuard Pro, projects a landslide victory for APC, with the party set to secure above 85% of the vote. The PDP trails with over 11%, while the ADC is projected at about 4%.
This is exactly what electronic transmission of results is supposed to achieve: replacing rumour, manipulation and emotional speculation with visible, traceable polling-unit evidence.
As result sheets are uploaded, the public can follow the trail from **Polling Unit → Ward → LGA → State**. That is the power of technology-backed transparency: not guesswork, but evidence building in real time.
What remains now is not the question of who won, but the formal completion of a result that electronic transmission has already made unmistakably clear. Thank God none of the bitter soul can claim the Election was manipulated |

APC in kwara have many strong candidates with rooted structures that people will vote for. I don't see danladi wining against kawu. It's all a game as long the power remain in central. Kwara north should wakeup and stop accepting wasted chances. Danladi is not strong enough to defeat Engineer kawu, not at this time that APC members are divided and the party leader in the state ( governor ) is carried away by his personal ambition. Bobloco: Papers from the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS) delivered to The Gazette showed that the former minister—under payroll number 561829—has continued to receive N1.1 million in monthly basic salaries alone. Ministry officials said the federal government had paid Mr Nnaji at least N12.8 million in monthly allowances that should have been cut immediately after his ouster by President Bola Tinubu.
Internal messages seen by The Gazette showed ministry officials believed Mr Nnaji had received at least N125 million since October 2025, when he stopped being a minister, with officials fearing up to N300 million had been paid to the minister in illegal benefits over the past nine months.

treesun: igeria’s former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, says God “completely vindicated” her after Southwark Crown Court in the United Kingdom acquitted her of corruption-related charges.
“I am deeply relieved. My name is cleared. This nightmare is over,” Mrs Alison-Madueke said in a statement on Wednesday. “I thank God Almighty for His faithfulness and for completely vindicating me.”
Mrs Alison-Madueke was first arrested in London in October 2015 and was charged in 2023 with five counts of accepting bribes and one count of conspiracy to commit bribery.
British prosecutors accused her of receiving at least £100,000 and other benefits they called “financial or other advantages” from oil and gas titans who sought lucrative contracts.
Among other “life of luxury” benefits prosecutors said she enjoyed were private-jet flights, chauffeur-driven cars, the use and upkeep of a London property, luxury goods, and school fees for her son.
Mrs Alison-Madueke was tried alongside Ayinde Olatimbo Bukola and Agama Doye as the first, second, and third defendants. The trial began in January this year.
The former minister under former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration between 2010 and 2015 denied any wrongdoing but had been on bail.
Following more than 46 hours of deliberation by the jury, Mrs Alison-Madueke was cleared of all charges.
“For eleven long, gruelling years, this case has hung over my head and has tormented me and my family,” Mrs Alison-Madueke said after the court ruling. “But today, the past decade of relentless and unjust vilification, condemnation, and scrutiny has finally come to an end.”
Mr Alison-Madueke, the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) president between 2014 and 2015, described the decades-long investigation as the “dark period”.
“I will speak more about this dark period and my plans for the future, but right now I am going to enjoy the freedom that has been unjustly stolen from me for far too many years,” she added.
Mrs Allison-Madueke has pending corruption and money laundering cases in Nigeria.

FreeStuffsNG: UPDATE: Trump is already having PTSD.
Trump suggests US would have run out of ammo if it had kept bombing Iran
By Jacob Magid Follow Today, 9:15 pm
US President Donald Trump suggests that the US would have run out of ammunition had it continued bombing Iran, rather than reaching a deal this week.
“If we keep bombing… You’re talking about $500, $600, $700 million a day. It’s a lot of money,” Trump says during a press conference.
“We run out of reserves in about four weeks… There are reserves all over the world, and we would really run out, and there’ll be a time when you wouldn’t be able to get it,” he stunningly reveals in a public forum.
“So, for all of those so-called geniuses that want to show me how smart they are, ask them why didn’t they blow up General Solemeini,” Trump says, almost certainly referring to Israel, given that just minutes earlier in the press conference, he hit out at Jerusalem for purportedly pulling out of a joint strike on the head of the IRGC’s elite Quds Force in 2020.
Trump says keeping the war going would have risked the lives of civilians in Iran.
“Are you going to let the 91 million people starve to death?” he asks rhetorically, adding that he purposefully did not bomb Iran’s desalination plants so as not to cause a humanitarian crisis.
He says he also did not target the oil facilities in Iran after repeatedly threatening to do so.
“I would have satisfied a group of 10 percent of the people, but it would have been the wrong thing to do. It could have caused an international depression,” Trump says.
As for the strike on the girls’ elementary school that reportedly killed over 100 young girls on the first day of the war, Trump knocks the reporter for asking him about the issue, but says it is under investigation.
“Nobody did that on purpose… Mistakes are made,” Trump says, adding that Iran has also been responsible for killing civilians. Look at how Iran don Humble Trump |
