kushercain:Christian Bale is my favourite Batman. Battinson has potential, but the jury is still out. Batffeck's character development is lacking, and he isn't always true to the character, BUT, his portrayal of Bruce Wayne is flawless. He's my favorite Bruce Wayne. |
Good, fvck 'em.

Karleb:So? it takes nothing away from what I said. The spotlight is on hypocrisy in relation to sexual orientation. Condemning gays while embracing heterosexuals is really just you cherry-picking your morals. In essence, it's supporting a biased argument even if it means ignoring contradictory evidence. |
Karleb:It's amazing how some of you can't see past the tip of your nose. It certainly lends credence to the adage that wisdom is gained through experience rather than education. If you unironically believe that people can't openly campaign against something while secretly engaging in it, I got news for you, chief. Imagine you have a coworker who is an environmental activist. He hounds people to turn off their office lights when they leave for lunch and gets on their case if they throw recyclables in the trash. Now imagine you discover that your coworker fails to do any of these things on a regular basis when he is at home. He's a hypocrite, yes? His hypocrisy now casts a negative light on his activism: how dare he tell others to turn off their lights when he doesn't do it himself. Now apply this analogy to governments banning LGBT films while their countries have some of the highest internet traffic for gay porn in the world, and you'll see I might be on to something. Studies have shown that people who go out of their way to strongly oppose something that has no real impact on how they live their lives are either overcompensating for something, or are simply ignorant. A Hungarian MEP known for his anti-gay rhetoric was recently seen fleeing a gay orgy. True story. Let us try to live and let live. Cheers. |
Babaheekmat:Room temperature IQ on the beat. ![]() In your head, you probably think you made a lot of sense. Oh, the irony. ![]() |
oyetpel:These countries are among the most avid gay porn watchers in the world. If by values, you mean that doing gay shit is acceptable as long as it is done in private, methinks they doth protest too much, lol. |

oyaskii:I reckon Depp will emerge from this trial smelling like a rose. If this trial has given him anything, it's good publicity and sympathy. If he wins the trial and keeps his nose clean, his stalled career will revive with a vengeance. Amber's career, on the other hand, is looking bleak. |
MJBOLT:Couldn't agree more. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. |
neztar:And you are...? |
Minemrys:I literally posted a screenshot of an article by a journo clearly hero-worshipping Depp, and if you go on Twitter, you'll find a slew of Depp fans shilling for him in such a way that you'd think he's some saint. Everyone who follows the trial as closely as I do can see that Depp and Amber were equally toxic to one another in that relationship; it was never a case of Depp abusing Amber alone, but rather a case of both abusing one another. As a result, I try to point out the article's inaccuracy in portraying Depp as a saint when he wasn't. Ergo, you calling my point "off" is puzzling to say the least. To be frank, it makes me doubt your mental stability. |
oyaskii:I think it's fair to say, based on what we've learned so far, both parties were equally toxic in that relationship. They were both abusive. |
I like Depp, but he shouldn't be portrayed as a hero. I'm not sure if anyone was listening to yesterday's trial, but Depp was continuously high or intoxicated, pledging to become clean after each fuckup, only to return to doing the same thing days later. It's great that he's apparently sober now, but he wasn't always a good guy.

abduleez1:I'm a huge admirer, but the body horror subgenre of horror has always appealed to me. Cronenberg and his son Brandon are vying to outcreep one other with progressively terrifying films of increasingly strange body horror. If you're up for it, watch these classics from Cronenberg. - The Fly - Scanners - The Brood - Videodrome - A History of Violence - Eastern Promises - Crash - eXistenZ - Dead Ringers - Dead Zone |
abduleez1:Eyes sewn shut, naked bathroom brawls, videotapes being inserted into someone's chest, exploding heads... Cronenberg's movies have always been extra, extreme and over-the-top. Per the teaser, 'Crime of the Future' is possibly the most Cronenberg-like Cronenberg since 'eXistenZ,' and as a Cronenberg fan, I couldn't be more excited! |
**A History of Violence** Beautiful cinematography, a brilliant third act, Viggo and Bello were phenomenal, and the premise is executed flawlessly. The second act, I suppose, is what hinders the film from being truly amazing; it's not horrible, but it struggles to keep the rhythm steady. Regardless, the film's a visual treat. **Eastern Promises** Another Mortensen/Cronenberg collaboration. Viggo's performance was nothing short of incredible. It's a shame it had to be released in the same year as "There Will Be Blood," I reckon Viggo would have won "Best Actor" that year if it hadn't been for DDL. Looking forward to their next collaboration, 'Crimes of The Future (2022)'. The teaser trailer is something... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrd8biRzhSo

SMUAG:He's been pushing Black Adam for well over a decade, so he was always going to get the part. It's an unfortunate situation, but we can only hope that he will do his best. |
MJBOLT:Lol, you're wicked. |
Minemrys:I'm not sure you understand what you're saying. Gal Gadot may be "versatile," but she might just as well be typecast because she consistently plays an action heroine with comedic chop. I'm not saying she's not talented; she is, she can sing pretty well. However, in most of her films, she relies on her sex appeal to sell her character, and it's gotten to the point where one has to wonder what business she has being a marquee star in Hollywood when there are more talented alternatives on the sidelines. @bolded, if you're going to act immature, then just read and move on, don't quote me. |
