Let me start by saying you did well in bringing this topic however I want to clear the misconception on your assertion about Delsu and other universities. Delsu pulled out because of their internal crisis which FUOYE Ekiti is facing. Delsu ASUU chapter have two factions of ASUU similar to university of Ilorin. There are ASUU members that are loyal to the current vc while others are not. As I type many lecturers from that end are praying for the vc to end his tenure this year because they are tired of his approach. Delsu like other state schools may not benefit much because the federal universities enjoys the dividend more in terms of funding and earned allowances. Although should anything arise that may affect their welfare, ASUU national might fight for them but as it stand now they are on their own. Aside this the struggle has been fruitful all these years because there are many structures built as a result of TET fund which was hoarded for years. Why many state universities are still on this struggle is because their interest is still looked at hence the solidarity. To set the record straight many of those lecturers don't have their students at heart. Don't let them deceive you with those sweet talks. One reason why some universities are want to pull out is because this present government is using chancellors of other schools to threaten lecturers.

Funds released for Salary arrears and earned allowances are distributed to ASUU members, while the funds released for the purpose of revitalising universities are released to the institutions/VCs

You that know everything tell me one direct or indirect benefits of ASUU to students huh

? How will a student excel when after the strike they return to schools with rusty brains!! Check rankings,private universities are taking over and ASUU will likely relate that to the lack of facilities, when most of their lecturers still lecture with 1956 lecture notes, or is it the part where they go on strikes and students have to forget their study for as long as the strie lasts huh

What about the few facilities that they have, how do they treat it?? Do they maintain them or act like its non of their business?? I dont know why you are defending these guys, but anyone who attended a public school will know what i am saying, go to these universities and see how they are wasting funds, some even build lecture theatres that they will not use, and yet there are lecture theatres without chairs why not channel the money used in building what you wont use to maintain the one u have?? Then i discovered that it was an avenue to siphon money.... ASUU has same epidemic as the Nigerian government !!

loool, try me!!! Certain things should not be said online, federal school get funds, and some of these schools engage in one or two business aswell.. I am reinterating that the strike is not for our students, how many lectur theatres have been constructed by ASUU since the several years of their strike huh

I think someone need to lookup the meaning of ARREARS in a dictionary, and then you will understand what ASUU in really clamouring for!
