It's not true. Some router has better network reception than the others. I think that is what makes the difference among other things. Better network reception translates to better speed.

I don't experience such on my mtn with the same device. I'm sure I am not the only one experiencing this. Airtel data counter is flawed.

This could happen because the ping rate has a low value, Data is constantly synchronising at the background at a very good speed. Try again and step down to 3g to see if it disappears. More still, you can use a data counter. There are apps that can perform that like datally. There are several

My complaint is with the way data exhausts without using it. I gave an example of how i slept with my data off and having 500MB in my account but when I woke up to check the data status it was 0MB.

Do a speed test on your Airtel, you will appreciate the what I am telling you. Airtel can handle 4k resolution comfortably

Because it's fast. You can step down to 3g to prevent data zapping. MTN is just for average user
