Olarewajub: Prepare a serial dilution from a stock protein of 0.5g/dl as follows 10mg, 20mg, 40mg, 80mg, and 100mg (all mg/dl). Use normal diluents. Your final volume should be 2ml. C1V1 = C2V2 C1 = concentration of stock protein: 0.5g/dl = 500mg/dl V1 = Volume of stock protein to be used C2 = final concentrations:10mg/dl, 20mg/dl, 40mg/dl, 80mg/dl, 100mg/dl V2 = final volume: 2mlFor 10mg/ml, or say 'solution A' V 1 = C 2V 2/C 1V 1 = (10mg/mg)*(2ml)/(500mg/ml) = 0.04mlSolution A (10mg/ml): add 0.04ml of stock protein, then make up to 2ml with distilled water; or simply add 2ml - 0.04ml = 1.96ml of water to 0.04ml of stock protein.The rest shouldn't be a problem... |

Hmm, almost same with me; though I can wake at night by maybe setting alarm, but I don't read upto 30 mins and I'm off, so most times I don't bother - except during exams cos my system is at alert, I must read b4 each paper. Well during normal lecture days, what I do is dat I plan well, maximise the use of breaks to read, and oh yes, weekends! You don't have lectures on Sundays I guess also the free days b4 exams; and 'illegal free days' - like during strike may knock u off balance though, u won't be able to read as u would during school days. Hope it helps |

Japhet04: "Two things that helped me were adequate planning and time management. Discipline had to come into play for these two things to become a reality. I planned each day such that I knew what I was going to be doing at every point in time. With this, I was able to make every second count. However, I gave room for flexibility. I also cultivated the habit of consulting multiple texts in order to understand concepts better. This helped me to avoid mindless memorisation or “cramming”, as some people call it." |

AlphaMaximus: Are you sure u typed in all the values correctly? because the answer I have gotten is a decimal and I think I ought not to have decimals since the others are integers. Confirm please.  I thought as much  AlphaMaximus: alright,here it is: let the fluid dissipation time of the first,second and third pipes be x,y and z respectively. from the info,when work is done(the filling of the tank) jointly by the first and second pipes the time taken is equivalent to the time taken by the third pipe working independently. mathematically,the formula for the time taken to complete work when two entities work jointly is: xy/x+y.......in that case, we have that: xy/x+y=z.......(1) Again,it was stated that the second pipe is 5hrs faster than the first and 18hrs slower than the third, mathematically: y=x-5, thus x=y+5.....(2) And, y=z+18, thus , z= y-18...(3) substituting (2) and (3) into (1) and simplifying, we have: y2-36y-90=0, and solving the quadratic equation ,we have that y=38.374.....recall that x=y+5, therefore,x=38.347+5=43.347hrs......thus the time required by the first pipe is 43.347hrs......for accuracy, it's 43.34698995hrs V/T1 + V/T2 = V/T3 .............(i)Where V/T is the rate of flow T 2 = T 1 - 5 = T 3 + 18 T 2 = T 1 - 5 T 3 + 18 = T 1 - 5 T 3 = T 1 - 23 Substituting into (i) V/T 1 + V/(T 1 - 5) = V/(T 1 - 23) 1/T 1 + 1/(T 1 - 5) = 1/(T 1 - 23) (2T 1 - 5)/(T 12 - 5T 1) = 1/(T 1 - 23) T12 - 46T1 + 115 = 0 T 1 = 43.347 hrs or 2.653 hrs |

benbuks: Enter the principle amount, interest rate, and number of years in the textboxes. When you click Calculate, the program uses the following code to display your balance for the following years. Private Sub cmdCalculate_Click() Dim principle As Double Dim interest_rate As Double Dim num_years As Integer Dim i As Integer Dim current_value As Double
lstBalances.Clear
principle = Val(txtPrinciple.Text) interest_rate = Val(txtInterestRate.Text) num_years = Val(txtYears.Text)
For i = 1 To num_years current_value = principle * (1 + interest_rate) ^ i lstBalances.AddItem i & ": " & _ vbTab & FormatCurrency(current_value) Next i End Sub The program simply loops through the years, evaluating the compound interest formula: balance = principle * Math.Pow(1 + interestRate, i) Interesting tidbit: To estimate how long it will take to double your money, you can use the "Rule of 72." Divide the interest rate into 72 and the result tells you roughly how many years it will take to double your money. For example, at 7.2% it'll take about 10 years. It's a pretty decent estimate. Wow! *dancing shoki* Thanks a lot boss...do u mind teaching me some Visual Basic Programming, no matter how small pls use this thread in order not to derail: https://www.nairaland.com/1832504/pls-write-program-visual-basic thanks |
