I am driving a 2009 Toyota Camry. I had this same issue when returning from a trip last week. I yesterday took my car to the mechanic yard. We bought the complete ABS system because here they sell the complete assembly. After replacing it, the entire problem stopped. I will be taking it for a longer distance trip today. But mind you, the first two ones they brought did not work. There is a way they test it without dismantling the whole ABS- they just plug in the clip to the new one and ask you to start the car and watch the dashboard to see if light clears... Sha know that not all tokumbo ABS parts are okay. So have them bring many and test all, and then give you at least a week guarantee.
Meanwhile, I forgot to add that I also had two error codes last week, P0712 Transmission fluid temperature sensor A low input; and P0606 ECM/PCM Processor. I am presuming the ABS module failure has a secondary effect on the transmission...

Exactly what just happened to me now.
I changed my shaft and the next day, I couldn't drive smoothly. Now they are telling me that the gear has packed up. I am being advised to change to a 10 pin transmission.

Really? I don't know why the 13 pin is sensitive. My transmission was good and working perfectly until a mechanic worked on the shaft. I was driving home that day from his work place my car refused to move and the next thing I heard was loud noise from the gear that was how it spoiled. I will buy the 13 pin gear as you said .. thank you
