mascot87: I agree with Festus. Majority of the Senate and rep members voted for what is now passed into Law by PBAT. That is in itself the wish of majority of Nigerians. If you voted someone to represent you at the senate. Whatever they do there is a reflection of your wish and desire. If you aren't happy with your senator for voting against your wish, it is your responsibility to recall them or vote them out in the next election. It isn't for you to transfer frustration on the President for the decision the senate members representing YOU made. The house of Assembly are only serving themselves and what they will get, they don't have Nigerians at heart. I hope a time will come that we can get it right with our electoral system being credible and transparent. You are a Nigeria and should always strive for what should make a strong institution to make our country Better. |

helinues: Is it now that the opposition deem right to be discussing about electoral process?
They didn't even consider the logistics part of INEC.
Election is just a year but the opposition figure are not even sure of which party they will be contesting not to talk of who to vie as president.
They have failed to plan, inevitable plan to fail What concerns the opposition with electronic transmission of votes, It is something that will give credibility and transparency to our electoral system. After all we are Nigerians before political parties and as such we want a progressive country, to drive a point to the ruling class both those in rulling and opposition parties that the citizens can vote in or vote out hence they will start doing the right thing. Again power is transient, many people have been there likes of Obasanjo, Good luck and blessed memories of Yaradua and Buhari and others. So let the right thing be done that will favor the masses. |

ChukwuObe: But why do we have so many dumb people in this country? Any law without a provision if the clause fails is bound to cause and create chaos. Imagine there is no network in Obi's polling unit, will they be happy if the results of the votes are not counted just because the e-transmission is not possible? What happens if some people spend lots of money to buy signal jamming equipment and deploy it in their opponent's region to prevent e-transmission, will they not be crying if the results are voided? Please use your brain. Imagine if card reader was made mandatory when Jonathan biometrics could not be captures, would he have voted without manual option? Why won't there be network after trillions pegged for this very election, in 21 Century Nigeria have not gotten it right with network. |

hotseat: The South Eastern States of Abia and Enugu are fast becoming role models not only to other states in the region but Nigeria as a whole.
They keep churning out developmental strides back to back.
Governors Peter Ndubiusi Mbah and Alexander Chioma Otti are visionary leaders worthy of their seats as State Governors.
With the increase in FAAC monthly allocations, they have left no one in doubt as to where they are headed.
There's hardly any State Governor today that is not full of praise for Tinubu in his economic drive which has enabled them to actualize most of their dreams and goals.
It can only get better!
@hotseat Increased their allocation and increase the hunger of the people by taking away their incomes through anti people policies that have increased goods and services. It's only in Nigeria that minimum wage can't be adequate to a single individual no matter how he manages the money. |

Politics › Re: Explosive Wiretap Claim Rocks Presidency – El-Rufai Vs NSA Ribadu Sparks Tension by patrickcollins: 9:44am On Feb 14 |
EponObi: I will assume this is an elaborate plot to justify the removal of the compulsory live transmission of election results from the electoral bill.
That's the only way I can make sense of this.
No sane person will go to live TV to say they tapped the phone of the NSA of a nation.
Let's even assume El-Rufai did, the right way to go is to claim he has insider sources in the NSA who fed him Intel.
He's the first to alert the public that he's going to be arrested.
He resisted arrest at the airport. You really think that if the security agencies wanted to arrest him, they will wait for him at the lobby where his supporters already jammed? If they really wanted to arrest, they would have picked him with heavy security personnels to deter his supposed followers; that's if they chose not to pick him directly inside his plane immediately he landed.
Then he came to national TV to say this, when some quarters in the country are presently debating that INEC servers can be hacked, to justify the non-compulsory transmission clause.
As an opposition, what good does the "revelation" about hacking the NSA offer El-Rufai himself and the ADC?
If the Senate and the presidency come out tomorrow to say the opposition is planning to hack the INEC servers during the election, how will the opposition deny it given the present situation?
People in the opposition should be weary of El-Rufai. I support Tinubu, but I can't shake the feeling that something is off about Mallam. Those who said El-Rufai's fallout with Tinubu was planned are starting to make sense.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IMMEDIATELY THE OPPOSITION STARTED RESISTING AND PROTESTING THE ELECTORAL BILL? Food for thought.
He even said Ribadu tapped his own phone too to justify tapping the NSA. Lmaoooo. He doesn't have hard proof of this but hearsay, while confessing to the crime with own mouth. As a well educated and well exposed former minister and governor, does that make sense?
The electoral bill angle aside, what happens when/if tomorrow Uba Sani or his oppositions in KD say that El-Rufai is one of those feeding intel to terrorists and bandits? After all, the opposition already nicknamed him Isakaba. He is doing everything possible so he could be picked, don't know why Tinubu and the head of secret service is keeping quiet giving the national security concerns of such issues |

Read Farook Kperogi's write-up on the matter. Elrufai has made his move and it isn't a slip of tongue. The ball is now in Ribadu's court. This is chess, not checkers!
