in this case, what u will need to do is change of ownership and plate replacement. change of ownership is 15k, while replacement is 25k.

replacement plate is not readily available, so it might take some days to complete d job. original vehicle docs, id card n 2passport will be required for d job.

car owners/drivers should know their rights n how to stand up to it. this is absurd, haven't imagined coming across something like this!

we get cmr for our clients a day after proof of ownership is issued and no police on d road can challenge it.

basic car papers r allocation of plate registration, proof of ownership, cmr. and d renewable papers: vehicle license, road worthiness n insurance. make sure they r up to date. and ur valid driver license of course!

since u bought a registered car, u may need to get the docs in ur name by getting a change of ownership n plate replacement.

pls explain here so others too may benefit, I just renewed the insurance,vehicle license and road worthiness of the car this january

a change of ownership only get u a certificate of ownership in ur name, while other vehicle papers: allocation of plate reg, cmr, vehicle license, road worthiness, insurance etc, still remain wt d name of d former owner. this is so bc the infos are attached to d plate. to ve all docs in ur name, u will ve to get ur own plate while d former owner is free to take his plate n use it on another vehicle of his.

we don't usually advice a change of ownership without a plate replacement, to us it amount to nothing.

once u buy a registered car with a receipt of purchase, that should be enof proof u own d car. no officer on d road will ask, who owns d car, d question will always be if u ve complete valid documents.

we only advice, not impose!
