Poems For Review / My Angel In The Dark by pauldesimple(m): 10:10am On Feb 03, 2013 |
...for a friend who had done so much for me I was touched by an angel A miracle greater than that of Daniel For Daniel was save from death And I from been a living corpse on earth Soon the angel departed And my life was deserted Then I thought it was over That my joy had gone under cover But you brought back my lost glory Just like the angel did in my story You filled the space left by the angel Even though you are only an 'ordinary' girl You brought back my smiles Long hidden in history files In you I see always An angel in many ways Thank you for being my friend And always being at hand Thanks a million How I wish I had a billion Thanks for bringing back that which I lack You are my angel in the dark 1 Like |
Poems For Review / It's Yours by pauldesimple(m): 1:24pm On Jan 31, 2013 |
It's your land You have no other ground It's your country You have no other territory It's your nation You owe it your obligation See it at yours Not theirs As your mother's And your father's You may travel to many countries Marry their ladies Win their visas And claim you are theirs A citizen of two countries An indigen of two territories But when there is separation of the wheat And the sheep is called to the right Then you'll know that there is nowhere on earth Better than the country of your birth Nigeria is yours It's my father's and mother's So let's come together And lift her higher Let's put her first Before our personal interest Then the Nigeria we long to behold Will before us unfold

Poems For Review / My Sweet Dream by pauldesimple(m): 1:05pm On Jan 29, 2013 |
My phone rang As the bird sang So I picked my phone While the bird continued its' own As I dropped my call The bird brought the song to a fall 'Go on, you are the best' But it headed towards its' nest If only I could fly I would journey with it through the sky To its' destination There I would score the notation For its' song Was the best I had listened to for long Even Handel with his beautiful composition Won't out shine this rendition So I returned home dejected What a call I should had rejected But little did I know that the bird Found a bed In the cage In front of my garage So I took it in That I might listen To its' load of music Even though, of them, I can't pick a lyric Then I heard a voice from distance 'Lets thank God for given us another chance To be among the living This morning' There and then I knew it was a dream How I wish it could play back like a film? 1 Like

Poems For Review / If Heaven Will Fall by pauldesimple(m): 3:40pm On Jan 28, 2013 |
If heaven will fall It will on all If you neighbour eats rotten food And you kept quiet like the wood When the consequence comes hot Immunity shall save you not So speak up against evil Or we'll bear the ill as single Voice out against wrong Or we'll face the music together before long Remember Jesse, Delta state Where 1200 souls were burnt Or Ebute and Abule Egba in Lagos state Same thing in other states They all had sad story Because they gave silence victory And on the day of reckoning Nature's hand of saving Could not avert the consequence Caused by their silence For if heaven will fall It will on all

Poems For Review / Justice by pauldesimple(m): 12:25pm On Jan 27, 2013 |
Justice! Justice!! Justice!!! This is the cry of the masses Who had being deprived of their right By they who pledge to be just and do right Justice! Justice!! Justice!!! This is the demand of the populace From a constitution That had being given a restriction Justice! Justice!! Justice!!! This we demand from our leader in fleece Who promised to lead us out of the dark And put us back on track But is doing the opposite Of what he promised to do on seat Justice! Justice!! Justice!!! Of you we long to catch a glimpse If that's the only enjoyment We'll derive from this government 2 Likes

Give me the ticket To take a trip to your heart There I might make a home Whatever the storm Give me the chance To become your fiance The man of your choice And you'll never be at loss Neither will you regret Ever opening to me your heart Let me take you before the bishops and priests And before your parents With the congregation as witness To profess that I'll love you in health and in sickness When things glow And in sorrow Till death Ends our journey on earth It is you I had chosen To be the mother of my unborn children My wife And better half in this life

MONEY OVER LOVE You said 'I can't do without you' She replied 'Then you were well to do' You called me the love of your life 'Because you had the money to care for a wife' What happens to the name Honey 'It's dead for there is no money' So you don't love me again 'Staying with you now is living in pain' Are you going away? 'Yes to him who can afford the pay' Oh! it's true that love glows 'Only when money flows'

Poems For Review / Every Election Year's Agony by pauldesimple(m): 10:11am On Jan 10, 2013 |
EVERY ELECTION YEAR'S AGONY Every election year They promise to lead with God's fear But once they are in office They forget that promise The once friend of the people Sworn into office with the Quran or the Bible Makes the people cry With policies that make them dry Policies coated with national interest But formed by selfish men at the crest Without consultation with the populace People at the receiving end of the policies Yet after four years of disappointment They come back begging for our endorsement And because we are fast at forgetting the past They give us items that won't last And we surrender without measure Our future and pleasure Some even fight their brothers For the candidate who never bothers But enjoy chilled beers And 'isi-ewu' at bars With other aspirants And political opponents Every Friday night When they are out of sight As our wounded receives treatment at the hospital And the dead prepared for burial O God, help my people maintain their stand Whenever they come around

He made heaven and earth And everything that has breath The seas and the waters He made without helpers By him nothing is impossible With him everything is feasible In six days he made everthing Through all ages he had kept them from falling He is God of all And king over all But there is something he can't and won't make And that thing is mistake God had never made any mistake A record your situation can't break 2 Likes |

Poems For Review / My Sexual Cake by pauldesimple(m): 2:01pm On Dec 31, 2012 |
I serve it hot From my sweet pot A gesture you will get Only from my honey inlet Even if you had tried it with another creature Mine has the greatest pleasure Taking you to the highest heaven For me is never a burden But with this God given sweetness I have no real happiness Though they keep coming back Only to tap from my juicy sack Enjoy all my offers And profess true love to others Oh! What a great mistake To believe that I can hold them back with my sexual cake 1 Like |
Poems For Review / HER REGRET by pauldesimple(m): 11:41pm On Dec 30, 2012 |
I received the best treatment For the moment He took me Beyond where I dreamt to be His magical traverse Brougt me to climax Faster And it lasted longer It was like I had never done it before For with him the sweetness was of the multiple of four There and then I made up my mind To always be at hand For he said that I was the girl of his dream And I don't want to lose him But unkown to me he had another maiden Hidden in his inner garden The love of his life And future better half The real she He loves more than me In all I had learnt that sex Can't keep a man forever as yours |
Poems For Review / God Is Nearest by pauldesimple(m): 5:12pm On Dec 29, 2012 |
Though it may take time He has the power to restore calm Though it may be like this Still he can command peace You are not alone in the boat If you believe you will remain afloat If you hear his story You give God the glory Maybe you think it's over Because you are always a loser Or you think you can't go on Because you are always being won Just know that when the need is greatest God is nearest |
Poems For Review / God Delays by pauldesimple(m): 10:13am On Dec 28, 2012 |
God delays Never denies He says wait Not because of hate But because his ways Are not your ways His design of the promised destination Is better than your vision and intention Just key into his path With faith Believe him And he'll fulfil your dream Once it's in line With his plan Just be hopeful And prayerful Make perseverance you first name And patience your other name His word Will never return to him void |
Poems For Review / Hunger by pauldesimple(m): 4:14am On Dec 23, 2012 |
Hunger has no off day Neither does it has any holiday Even on christmas when men are at rest It is at it's duty post To operate brilliantly as habitual And wonderfully as usual What a display of dignity in service And diligence at office Hunger treats noone as best Neither does it operates with a special interest The way he treats the wealthy Same way it treats the man who dwells in poverty The way it deals with the sick Same way it deals with a healthy folk The way it operates on the man Same way it operates on the woman With hunger there is no leader No follower No first No last With hunger all men are equal And special |

Poems For Review / The Agony Of Growing Old by pauldesimple(m): 5:22pm On Dec 21, 2012 |
When I was a younger I longed to grow older Quicker than normal Faster than usual I longed to change from being an ordinary master To a full mister To father lives That will give birth to husbands and wives Now that I'm there The burden I can't bear Can't be somewhere When I wish to be there Lacks the ability To undertake simple activity The capability For usual availabily If only I can turn back the hand of time My troubles will I calm If only I can switch from being old And return to those days when I was a child If only |
Poems For Review / By Your Grace by pauldesimple(m): 5:17am On Dec 20, 2012 |
Lord grant me the knowledge That I may know that your favouring me is merely a privilege That neither do I deserve it Nor is it my rightful benefit Help me to always keep in mind That I'm neither the best in the land Nor am I the worst you could see For you to had blessed me But out of love My problems you decided to solve And kept me alive To sing your praise everyday of my life Let my heart be opened And my sight never shortened That I may see and know that people better With wonderful character Older Or younger Richer Or poorer And with better health Had left the face of this earth But by your grace I'm still on this race This I ask of you ancient of days That I may praise you always |

She is your wife Your better half Not that slave You punish if she misbehaves She is your helper Given to you by your maker Dont be a boxer And make her regret being your lover There is bound to be misunderstanding For your relationship to be intresting Being brutal Will only make things more abnormal So stop the brutality Add more vitality |
Poems For Review / Her Tears by pauldesimple(m): 8:51am On Dec 18, 2012 |
(A dedication to the widows of the victim of the crashed naval chopper) She woke up that morning with her beloved But went to bed same day bereaved She smiled as she bade him goodbye With love he did thesame in reply But she never knew that death was close by With its' rod to make her cry Now she recall his usual statement 'Marrying you was never a disappointment I love you more than anything And I'll show it more with everything' So she ask 'Is death a sign of showing love' |
Poems For Review / My Letter by pauldesimple(m): 6:17am On Dec 16, 2012 |
...to our leaders and elected officers Dear Sir/ Ma What is your take? Or what do you make Of the recent happenings In our surroundings? Are they merely acts of God Or pointers that you had kept not your word? Are they mere occurences on one of such sorrowful days Or calls for you to amend your ways? Are the victims just unfortunate Or they show our nation's present state? Dont act like the old fool Who gained the old world but lost his soul Everyone has a debt to pay Everyone has a last day |
Poems For Review / Loving You by pauldesimple(m): 7:18pm On Dec 13, 2012 |
If loving you is a crime I'll become boko haram Nigeria's toughest at present Taking away sleep from the president 'Soon they shall be stopped' she retorted 'Your love is not everlasting' she concluded For you I am as crazy As Nigerians are for blackberry 'Then you have many lovers And I don't want to join the fighters' My love for you shall be like Nigeria's budget That flies higher every year like the jet 'Then it will be a victim of misappropriation And corruption' So what must I do To win you 'All I want is simplicity And availability' 1 Like |

Poems For Review / MY LAMENTATION (11-11-11 To 12-12-12) by pauldesimple(m): 8:54am On Dec 12, 2012 |
I am becoming insane How much longer will I dwell in pain? No more peaceful sleep on the couch I am gradually losing touch My soul dwelt in worry Sorrow had made my heart its' territory 'My God, my God why have you forsaken me? Why have you departed from me? Must I be completely broken Before you fulfil that which you had spoken? Must my cup of sorrow be filled Before your promise will be fulfilled? O lord, another year had gone by Come to my aid before my life becomes dry' |
Poems For Review / If Your Friend Betrays You by pauldesimple(m): 4:00pm On Dec 06, 2012 |
Betrayed by a friend And it's like your world had come to an end Stabbed in the back by a beloved And you wish you were dead So what happens if you are betrayed by your brother Or stabbed by your sister? That you were from thesame father Born by thesame mother That your mother's last prayer was that you remain in unity And your father's last wish was that you never forget your ancestry That you share thesame heritage And lineage Can't save you from your brother's betrayal Or your sister's denial So cry less if you friend betrays you For your blood relation may do same to you · |
Poems For Review / There Is A Land by pauldesimple(m): 8:03am On Dec 06, 2012 |
There is a land Where men forget that they were made from sand Where lads and lasses Are the sources Of their parents' riches Where children are their parents' murderers That they may become societal movers And shakers Men of timber And calibre Where brothers kill sisters And sisters kill brothers Because of their inheritances Or for sacrifices A land where the fear of one another Is a secret of living longer Where the love of parent Is for selfish intrest Where hatred flows freely Among members of thesame family There is a land Where evil made its' stand Welcome to that land |
Poems For Review / We Forget by pauldesimple(m): 7:13pm On Dec 04, 2012 |
It's true that most of our leaders And elected officers Are circular poles In square holes That they lack traits of selflessness But are gurus in selfishness That they are liars And deceivers Whose generations Shouldn't be seen in positions Of authority In this country But once they come with some thousands of naira And bottles of mirinda Sweet Will their praises be on every street For we forget our four years of wailing Crying Complaining And yelling With thesame voices With which we now sing their praises We forget our four years of suffering And smiling Of sorrowful tales In our states |

To move from grass To grace From zero To Hero Or to climb success ladder Is easier Than to maintain a position on the ladder Little wonder it took Nigeria forty-six years persistence From amalgamation to indepence A success story Of the century But fifty-two years after The story had gone sour The most populous black nation Expert in corruption Bribery Reformed slavery Fraud Blood shed Unemployment And unholy treatment Of its' citizens by their leaders And elected officers Fifty-two years after freedom What is the state of our kingdom? |
