he is right, that is exactly what he should have said, he was addressing the northern audience with their core northern scholars, so what do people expect him to say? he has to tell them he is their son and that they must vote for him, and he gave the reasons why they must vote for him, he said he is the only northerner who has built bridges of relationships across the whole region of Nigeria,

this is the same thing too tinubu will say to people in Lagos state or Osun state if he is there, he will tell them he is a Yoruba man and that they must vote for him because it is the turn of Yorubas.

In the US, and I've never heard an American politician say that you guys should vote for me because we are from the same state or same race. I think this is extremely divisive politics, and if thats how Nigerian politicians want to campaign, I don't think Nigeria will exist as a nation in the next 20 years.

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has said those from the North don’t need candidates from the South during the 2023 elections.

Atiku stated this while responding to a question posed to him by the spokesman of the Northern Elders Forum, NEF, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, during an Interactive Session With Arewa Joint Committee held on Saturday in Kaduna State.

According to him, Northerners need to vote for him rather than a Yoruba or Igbo candidate because he’s a Pan-Nigerian with a northern extraction.

When Baba-Ahmed asked Atiku why Northerners should vote for him, the PDP presidential candidate replied, “What the average Northerner needs is somebody who’s from the north and also understands that part of the country and has been able to build bridges across the country.

“This is what the Northerner needs, it doesn’t need a Yoruba or Igbo candidate, I stand before you as a Pan-Nigerian of northern origin.”

A former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr Obadiah Mailafia, on Monday disclosed that some repentant terrorists revealed to him that a serving Northern governor was the commander of the Boko Haram sect.

Mailafia said this during a radio programme in Abuja while speaking on the current crisis in Southern Kaduna.
