News reaching JoelsBlog just now is that a Taxi Driver (Name withheld) has been shot dead by police escorting a full loaded trailer while he was loading passengers in Rumuokoro Axis of Rivers staPort-Harcourt .


According to reliable sources, Joelsblog found out that the whole thing was like a drama in a true Nollywood film, the deceased was busy loading passengers when he was shot dead.

"Everybody was busy going about their activities in the park, when we heard gunshot and to our greatest surprised the young man was dead, the wicked aspect of this situation is that, he was shot for no reason at all, no confrontation or anything... They just killed him " A man that sold at the scene of the alleged attack told JoelsBlog correspondent.

A heartbroken Nigerian lady and Twitter user @survivor17, took to the platform to recount a shocking incident she witnessed while at an undisclosed Nigerian airport.

According to the Nigerian lady, there was suddenly a buzz at the airport after 15 children who were ‘exported’ to Saudi Arabia for prostitution were led in. She tweeted;

Omg. So I left my laptop at home, got hubby to send it in the flight after mine via air cargo and I’m here to pick up but I’ve walked into the most guy-wrenching situation ever.

I noticed there was a buzz within the airport with everyone looking towards the entrance then in overhead two airport staff saying “see them”. This awoke the detective in me sha and I proved further.

About 15 clearly underaged girls accompanied but a few adults walked into the airport while putting their belongings through the scanner at the door. They were oblivious to what was goi on around them. So young.

Turns out the poor CHILDREN are being “exported to Saudi Arabia for prostitution”. Someone called into a radio station this morning and tipped them off. They called the police who lay in wait for them. They’ve been rounded up and sectioned now.

These guys say it’s an open secret, the wealthy dons behind this racket. I said they are too young for such and one of these chaps said “them say Na these ones dey sweet pass”. (Almost decked him)
Young girls with their innocence stolen from them to satisfy the sadistic sexual urges of a few ogres and the pockets of lecherous evil and greedy people. Kai.

My heart breaks for this country.
A Twitter user @Mr_Edgal who confirmed the story tweeted;

Nigerian music to the world is what 2018 is surely going to be all about. Thanks to Jidenna representing Nigeria so well and all the collaborations that went down last year between Nigerian artistes and other international acts.


However, this year is already shaping up for the Nigerian Music industry as Wizkid and Jidenna are already slated to play at one of the biggest world music festivals – Coachella that holds in California.


The official lists for artistes to perform were released earlier this morning through the event’s official Twitter handle.

This is not to say that artistes to perform cannot the change, considering that King Sunny Ade was billed to perform last year but was later dropped. However, this is the first time two Nigerian acts will be slated to play in the same year at the festival.


Wizkid is to play on Saturday, April 14 and/or 21, while Jidenna is to play on Sunday, April 15 and/or 22. They will be performing alongside headliners like Beyonce, Eminem and The Weekend.

Other notable mentions are Kygo, SZA, Post Malone, Tyler the Creator, Cardi B, Miguel, and over 200 other artistes. Tickets for the event are to go on sale on the 5th of January.
