The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, yesterday, seized 48 choice property belonging to former Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Timipre Sylva, who is being prosecuted at a Federal High Court in Abuja for alleged misappropriation of N6.46 billion state funds when he was governor of the state.

World's oldest living identical twins celebrated their 103rd birthday today!

Charlotte Eisgrou and Ann Primack of South Florida and Daytona Beach, Fla. are still in the best of health, despite their age.

Neither uses a hearing aide or reading glasses.

The twins were born two months premature in Chicago in 1909. They weighed a combined 7 lbs. Since they were born before incubators were invented, they were wrapped in blankets and put in the door of a stove to keep warm.

Media celebrity Wendy Williams’ failure to pay for 12,140 pairs of shoes that carry her logo has wreaked havoc on the owners of a small manufacturing firm in China, their lawyer charges.

The owners of Max Harvest International Holdings went into hiding this month after the shoe factory owner — who hadn’t been paid — kidnapped one of their managers in mainland China, according to sources.

The kidnappers held the man for two weeks before releasing him shaken but unharmed. The manufacturing firm’s owners, a businessman and his wife who do not want to be identified, fled Hong Kong, a New York based business associate said late Tuesday.

According to the Hong Kong couple's lawyer, Staci Riordan of Los Angeles, Williams and her husband, Kevin Hunter, never paid their shoe bill which now exceeds $419,000.

Religious violence has erupted in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State and the incident has left four people dead, 15 shops and at least one church burnt and several people wounded.
This was revealed by eye witnesses who told our reporter in Kano, Idris Jibrin, that the violence erupted as a result of a communication breakdown between a non-Muslim tailor and a Muslim man over an inscription on a dress designed by the tailor.

According to some of the residents, the tailor had allegedly omitted two letters in the inscription, which signalled a change in the meaning of the inscription, and considered to be insulting to Muslims.

Aero Contractors, one of the few airlines still flying the local routes in Nigeria, might have had an accident save for a passenger’s prompt intervention.

At about 2:30 pm Monday, the Aero aircraft was set to leave the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja Lagos, when one of the passengers who sat close to the left wing of the craft spotted gas leaking from one of the valves conveying gas to the part called ‘ailerons’ which connects the wings of the aircraft to ensure stability during take-off and landing.
The passenger alerted the members of the airplane’s crew, consequently all passengers were asked to evacuate the plane.

All boarding formalities were completed and the aircraft door shut ready for take-off. The aircraft had actually been taxied through the run-way to the take-off point when, after about ten minutes, the pilot taxied it back to the hanger,” one of the passengers aboard the flight said.

It was the dream wedding that almost never took place after 24-year-old football star Fabrice Muamba 'died' on the pitch seven months ago.

Now this joyful picture of him with his beautiful bride Shauna Magunda on their big day shows just how far the ex-Bolton Wanderers player has come.

The ceremony looked in danger of never happening in March, when Muamba had a heart attack during an FA Cup match at Tottenham ground White Hart Lane.

In line with the provision of the new traffic law, the Lagos State Government says commercial bus drivers and conductors will begin to wear uniforms and badges as from January 2013.

Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Kayode Opeifa disclosed this at the weekend at a sensitisation programme for transporters on the new Road Traffic Law at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Secretariat, Alausa in Ikeja, Lagos.

A church run by a controversial multi-millionaire African preacher has been accused of ‘cynical exploitation’ after its British branch received £16.7 million in donations from followers who were told that God would give them riches in return.
