The song sung in schoolyards by generations of British children mocking Adolf Hitler for only having “one ball” might be accurate after all. A German historian has unearthed the Nazi leader’s long-lost medical records, which seem to confirm the urban legend that he only had one testicle. The records, taken during a medical exam following Hitler’s arrest over the failed Beer hall putsch in 1923, show that he suffered from “right-side cryptorchidism”, or an undescended right testicle. Long thought to have been lost, the records of the examination surfaced at an auction in Bavaria in 2010 before swiftly being confiscated by the Bavarian government. They have only recently been properly studied by Professor Peter Fleischmann of Erlangen-Nuremberg University. SEE MORE: https://thepecohub.com/hitlers-dna-proves-he-really-did-have-only-one-ball/

Humanity is closer to destroying itself, according to atomic scientists who revealed on Tuesday that the famous “Doomsday Clock” was set to 89 seconds to midnight — the closest it has ever been. The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, a science-oriented advocacy group, made the announcement Tuesday morning, metaphorically rating how close humankind is to annihilating itself with human-made advancements. “We set the clock closer to midnight because we do not see positive progress on the global challenges we face including nuclear risk, climate change, biological threats and advances in disruptive technologies,” Daniel Holz, chair of the Bulletin’s Science and Security Board, said. The group of scientists say the war in Ukraine “could become nuclear at any moment” and a wider regional war in the Middle East could “spiral out of control,” while countries with nuclear weapons are increasing their arsenals. They say the global attempts to reduce climate change “remains poor,” as governments aren’t enacting the necessary policies to halt global warming. The development of biotechnology and artificial intelligence “far outpaced policy, regulation and a thorough understanding of their consequences,” Holz said. If you’ve been on X (formerly known as Twitter), you might have noticed a heated discussion about who should play Rapunzel in Disney’s live-action Tangled movie. While several names have been suggested, one name is causing a major stir: Taylor Swift. The buzz began on January 23 when the Hollywood scoop account @MyTimeToShineH claimed, “Taylor Swift is being considered to play Rapunzel in Disney’s live-action Tangled film.” The post immediately sparked debate, with some users accusing the account of fabricating the claim. However, the account stood by its statement, replying, “This isn’t bait—this is from a casting sheet. That’s how I got these two casting scoops out before the trades.” So, allegedly, a casting sheet was leaked, and Swift was on it for the role of Rapunzel. It’s unclear if Swift has even been contacted yet about auditioning for the role, but either way, lots of people (and outlets) are talking about it.
