olokedde:
*says Army, Security Agencies did not assist PDP in rigging governorship election

*says he did not witness illegal thumb printing

Plot by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Tukur Buratai to help the Rivers State APC Governorship Candidate, Dakuku Peterside at the tribunal suffered a major setback as his representative, Captain Garba Sani told the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal that the Nigerian Army did not participate or assist the PDP in any rigging activities in Tai Local Government Area as alleged by the petitioner.

Captain Sani said that he received a signal from the Chief of Army Staff instructing him to testify on behalf of the Rivers State APC.

He led other soldiers to Tai LGA to maintain the peace for the governorship election. He testified on Wednesday.

The Representative of the Chief of Army Staff also declared that he did not see the Police or any other security agency assisting the PDP to manipulate the governorship election.

Captain Sani who was cross examined by Mr Okey Wali (SAN ) counsel to Governor Wike added that he did not see anybody illegally thumb printing ballot papers at any location.

Asked if he wrote a report on the said governorship election in Rivers State, Captain Sani agreed, but said it has been submitted to the Chief of Army Staff. He said that the report was not released to him on his way to the Tribunal.

The Chief of Army Staff said that he led 38 soldiers who he claimed were crammed in two Hiliux Vans.

Asked how the soldiers were able to convey arrested thugs since they had only two Hiliux Vans, Captain Sani could not explain.

He was further asked to explain how the Policemen he claimed they handed over arrested persons conveyed them to a separate location, since they had no vehicle. The Army Captain said he could explain.

The Representative of the Chief of Army Staff said he did not get the identities of the so-called thugs who disrupted elections as he merely handed them over to the police.

Asked if he was aware if those allegedly arrested by him have been prosecuted, the Chief of Army Staff representative said it was not his business to get such information.

Counsel to Governor Wike put it to the representative of the Chief of Army Staff that his testimony was mere hearsay and cannot be relied upon by the Tribunal, since he admitted that he didn’t participate or see anybody rigging.

The so called 38 soldiers in two Hiliux Vans allegedly monitored elections in 10 wards and 91 polling units of Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State.

It remains unclear who directed the Chief of Army Staff to send a Representative to the Tribunal. Many believe that he received the directive from his overall employer.

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB)

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is a Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions.
The board conducts entrance examinations
for prospective undergraduates into Nigerian
universities. The board is also charged with the
responsibility to administer similar examinations
for applicants to Nigerian public and private
monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of
educations. All of these candidates must have
obtained the West Africa School Certificate, now
West African Examinations Council, WAEC, or its
equivalent, National Examination Council
(Nigeria), NECO.

As we know that the utme is now Cbt ...some candidate are very scared of using the computer because they fell they are not familiar with the computer...that's what makes some of them fail all you know to is that you don't need to be a computer literate before you will be able to do the exam all you need to do is to pay attention to the instruction you will be given at centre of the examination.

Good day to you all....it is not a new thing that even before the admission list of most schools comes out the Joint Admission matriculation Board(JAMB) has started advertising another UTME form for the next year admission....I am here to guide to and make you be informed cus it is said that if you are not informed you be deformed.

Some people have done their exam in their various institutions some have scored high and are very sure of their admission, some scored average and are not certain while other scored very low and are still optimistic but don't be broken yet it is too early to give up.

Although the pass rate of this year's west african examination council (WAEC) is not encouraging but the candidate shouldn't lose hope cus their are still some exams that they can sit for to cover up for the F's and D's they scored in their results.

First I will be analyzing what the exam(UTME) itself is all about(the aim, syllabus, brochure, how to score very high) and all the institution in Nigeria (their subject combination, cut-off mark, and all the do's and don't to follow so as to gain admission.

PoliticsNigeria’s Total Debt Rises To N12.1tn– by peculiarabacus(op): 5:25am On Jul 01, 2015
The nation’s total debt rose to N12.1tn ($60.8bn)
as of March 2015, up from N11.2tn at the end of
December 2014, data obtained from the Debt
Management Office’s website showed on
Tuesday.
The statistics also showed that foreign debt stood at $9.46bn at the end of March, down from $9.71bn at the end of 2014.
This means that the current foreign debt is about 15 per cent of the total debt.
The Federal Government had in 2013 said it
would increase the amount it borrowed overseas to 40 per cent of the total debt over a three-to- five year in order to tap into loose monetary policy in advanced economies.
However, dwindling oil prices has left the sharp
drop in revenue, leaving the government
struggling to pay bills including state salaries. The naira has also come under intense pressure.
States are now in debt to the tune of N658bn, the governor of Zamfara state said last week.
Investors are worried domestic debt has risen
sharply since the end of March, and concerns
about government finances, as well as the slide in the naira, are hitting markets.
The yield on the five-year bond, the most liquid
issue, rose to 14.95 per cent on Tuesday, up from 14.71 per cent a week ago, Reuters reported on Tuesday. The former Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo- Iweala, had said in early May that the government had already used half the borrowing allowance it had budgeted for as lower oil prices reduced revenues.
Abuja’s funding problems and the naira’s
weakness on the black market are fuelling market concerns that more domestic bonds may have to be sold, raising the cost of borrowing.
The rebasing of the economy last April made
Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product to almost
double to more than $500bn, Africa’s biggest.
However tax collection as a percentage of
revenue is a paltry six per cent
Economic analyst, Mr. Ayodeji Ebo, said the huge
deficit in the 2015 budget had shown that the
federal government would increase its borrowing this year.
“The main concern is that the borrowings have
been used to finance recurrent expenditure
instead of recurrent expenditure,” he added.

PoliticsJega Out, Buhari Names Zakari As Acting INEC Boss by peculiarabacus(op): 5:08am On Jul 01, 2015
Prof. Attahiru Jega on Tuesday bowed out of office as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Consequently, President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Mrs. Amina Bala Zakari, as the acting chairman of INEC.
Zakari, the first female to occupy the position
albeit in an acting capacity, was until Tuesday, a
National Electoral Commissioner at INEC.
A statement issued by the Director
Communications in the Office of Head of Civil
Service of the Federation, Alhaji Haruna Imrana,
on behalf of the HoS, Mr. Danladi Kifasi,
confirmed the appointment. Kifasi said Zakari’s appointment was with immediate effect and would subsist from June 30, 2015 until the appointment of a substantive chairman.
Jega was appointed the chairman of the commission by former President Goodluck Jonathan on June 30, 2010. He conducted two elections in 2011 and 2015. Speaking briefly at the end of the closed-door handing over ceremony at the commission in Abuja, Jega said the future of the country and commission was bright. He said he was grateful to God and the country for the opportunity to serve.
He said, “We feel great; we thank God Almighty for the opportunity to serve the country. The future is bright for the commission and the country.”Jega said, “In whatever we have achieved, we should keep it up and do more”, adding that there was still a lot to be done.
Jega left the commission with six national
commissioners whose tenure also expired on
Tuesday. The other six national commissioners who left with him on Tuesday were Col. M.K. Hammanga (retd.), Adamawa State, (North-East); Dr. Ishmael Igbani, Rivers State, (South-South); Prof. Lai Olurode, Osun State, (South-West); Dame Gladys Nwafor, Abia State, (South-East); Mrs. Thelma Amata Iremiren, Delta State, (South-South); and Dr. Nuru Yakubu, Yobe State, (North-East).
