PoliticsThe Undisributed Estate Of The Late 9th Emir Of Ilorin by Penaldo(op): 4:53pm On Nov 30, 2025
His Royal Highness Alhaji Zulkarnaini Gambari Mohammed, CFR, CON, OBE, LL.D (Hon.) (1914–1992

Status Report as at 23 November 2025

To Whom It May Concern

Background
The 9th Emir of Ilorin, HRH Alhaji Zulkarnaini Gambari Mohammed, reigned from 1959 to 1992 and died intestate, leaving 48 children, widows, and extended beneficiaries. The current 11th Emir, HRH Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu-Gambari, CFR—his eldest son—ascended the throne in 1995 and is not among the complainants in the dispute.

Status of the Estate (33 Years After Death)
The estate remains entirely undistributed under Islamic inheritance law. No heir has received physical assets or monetary equivalents. The estate includes extensive properties across Ilorin, Lagos, Abuja, Kaduna, and other cities, as well as company shares, commercial interests, and prime land such as Murtala Mohammed Way, Ile-Isana, and the Matchco site. This is one of Nigeria’s longest unresolved Muslim royal inheritance cases.

Origin of the Dispute (1999–2000)
In 2000, the current Emir ordered the eviction of all the late Emir’s children and widows from the family residence, except for his mother, who moved to the Palace. The property was intended for the Ciroma’s residence. The heirs resisted and demanded the distribution of the entire estate, marking the beginning of the conflict.

Administration of the Estate
Letters of Administration were granted to four joint administrators:
Ahmed Bolakale Gambari, Zeinab Ayobola Zubair, Asmau Funmilayo Buhari, and Hassiata Wuraola Idiaro.
Heirs allege long-standing lack of transparency, unilateral actions, financial mismanagement, and refusal to render accounts.

Historical Timeline
1992–1999: Estate managed without distribution.
1999–2000: Eviction attempt and first arbitration efforts.
2000–2007: Arbitration fails; Princess Bilkisu Tinuola becomes lead advocate.
2007: Sharia Court of Appeal and Upper Area Court applications dismissed.

2007–2008: Appeals made to Northern Emirs, the Sultan of Sokoto/NSCIA, and JNI.
2009–2015: Increased media coverage; probate suits filed.
2017–2023: No distribution; audits repeatedly demanded.
July 2025: Unilateral Property Development Agreement signed for Ile-Isana.

Oct–Nov 2025: EFCC petition filed and rejected; appeal submitted; police petition lodged; High Court motions filed.

Current Litigation
Court: Kwara State High Court, Ilorin
Judge: Hon. Justice H. T. Kawu
Reliefs sought: full account auditing, independent valuation, Sharia-compliant distribution, injunctions against all dealings, and nullification of unauthorized agreements. Temporary injunctions are pending.

Criminal & Anti-Corruption Actions (2025)
A petition to the EFCC alleges criminal breach of trust and fraudulent conversion, primarily involving Ahmed Bolakale Gambari. The EFCC’s Kwara office rejected the petition; an appeal is before the Chairman. A parallel complaint has been filed with the Kwara State Commissioner of Police.

Principal Complainants / Petitioners (2025)
Hajiya Zeinab Zulu Gambari, Mariam Segilola Gambari, Hauwa Gboyega Gambari, Princess Bilkisu Tinuola Gambari, Aliyu Oladipupo Gambari, Rakiya Ajibola Gambari, and Hassiat Wuraola Gambari Idiaro.

Core Allegations by the Heirs
Deliberate refusal to distribute the estate, systemic opacity, misappropriation of assets, gender-based exclusion, unauthorized development projects, and attempts to permanently dispossess heirs.

Sources of Information
Official documentation from gambarisestate.com; media reports (Ilorin.info, Blueprint, The Eagle Online); and verified court and probate records.

Conclusion
Thirty-three years after the death of the 9th Emir, the estate remains undistributed. The unresolved conflict—sparked by the attempted eviction and issues of transparency—has escalated into litigation, anti-corruption petitions, and allegations of misappropriation.
This report is compiled from publicly available, verifiable sources for informational purposes only.

The South South Zonal Working Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, approved the appointment of Caretaker Committees to oversee the affairs of Party in Bayelsa and Edo States respectively for a period of three (3) months.

The decision, effective Tuesday, was made known at the end of a Zonal Working Committee meeting presided over by Chief Dan Orbih, national vice-chairman of the party.

The decision to set up Caretaker Committees for both States follows the dissolution of the State Working Committee of Bayelsa State and the Caretaker Committee in Edo State on account of what the PDP zonal working committee described as various acts of gross misconduct by the dissolved Executives which it said were in clear breach of the Party’s Constitution and also, the poor handling of internal crises rocking the Party in both States.

For Edo State, the ZWC said it also took into reckoning the poor performance and woeful outing by the Party in Edo State at the last Governorship elections.

“The Zonal Working Committee hopes that this bold move will strengthen the Party’s (PDP) foundation and ensure effective leadership in both Bayelsa and Edo States, respectively.

PoliticsLagosians Express Scepticism Over LASIEC's LGAs Tour Ahead of 2025 LGA Election by Penaldo(op): 10:05pm On Mar 07, 2025
A recent visit by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) team, led by Hon. Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, to the Ifelodun LCDA, has sparked scepticism among Lagos citizens, especially people of Ifelodun LCDA. The visit, part of LASIEC's statewide assessment tour, has raised concerns about the commission's impartiality, particularly in areas where incumbent chairmen are dominant.

Critics argue that LASIEC's tour may be seen as an attempt to sway the outcome of the forthcoming local government elections rather than ensuring a free and fair process. The fact that the visit was hosted by the Executive Chairman of Ifelodun LCDA, Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has further fueled these concerns.

Lagos citizens are calling for transparency and accountability in the electoral process, ensuring that LASIEC maintains its independence and impartiality. The commission must demonstrate its commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections rather than being perceived as biased towards incumbent chairmen.

As the 2025 local government elections approach, LASIEC must address these concerns and work to regain the trust of Lagos citizens. Anything less may undermine the legitimacy of the electoral process and the outcome of the elections.

PoliticsImo: 300 APC Members Resigns, Join Chima Mathew Amadi's TMO by Penaldo(op): 6:39pm On Mar 06, 2025
In a shocking move, over 300 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State have resigned from the party to join forces with Dr. Chima Mathew Amadi's The Movement (TMO), a non-governmental organization committed to grassroots development and humanitarian work.

It will be recalled that just last month, key members of the State Working Committee of APC in Imo, alongside some critical leaders, dumped the party to join TMO. This includes Barr. Uche Nwosu Former State Legal Adviser, Cajetan Duke, the former Publicity Secretary of the APC in Imo State, and Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu KSM, a former state lawmaker among many others . The latest defection brings the total number of APC members who have joined forces with TMO in recent months to over 500.

The defectors, who include local government chairmen, councilors, and other stakeholders, were drawn to TMO's genuine interest in bettering the lives of Imo people. They cited Dr. Amadi's commitment to grassroots development, empowerment of women and youth, and his vision for a more prosperous Imo State as reasons for their decision. According to them, the APC has failed to deliver on its promises, and it is time for a change.

As the APC struggles to come to terms with this massive defection, Dr. Amadi's TMO is poised to become a major force for positive change in Imo State. The organization's focus on humanitarian work and community development has resonated with many Imo residents, who are eager for a change from the status quo.

The defectors were received warmly by Hon. Onwukwe Chukwudi Henry and the TMO leadership. The event, which took place at the TMO secretariat in Owerri, was marked by fanfare, with the defectors publicly renouncing their membership of the APC and pledging their support for TMO's initiatives.

Dr. Amadi, who is known for his philanthropic efforts and community development initiatives, has been gaining popularity in Imo State in recent months. His August Journey, a statewide tour that took him to over 15 communities, was widely acclaimed, and his donations to women's groups and community development projects have endeared him to many.

The mass defection is seen as a significant boost to TMO's efforts to bring about positive change in Imo State. With the APC losing a substantial number of its members, the party's grip on Imo State may be loosening. Political analysts are watching the situation closely, as it may have far-reaching implications for the state's political landscape.

As the defectors settle into their new role as partners of TMO, they are expected to play key roles in the organization's initiatives. With their experience and knowledge of the local politics, they are poised to make a significant impact on the lives of Imo people.

Prominent among the defectors are Okenze Engr. Paul Opara, immediate past APC Zonal Chairman of APC, Owerri Zone, Hon. Udo Agoha, former Commissioner for Agriculture and State Coordinator Big Tent, Imo State, Hon. Titus Anyanwu, Okenze Henry Unegbu, Hon Chinenye Ezurike, immediate past Chairmanship Aspirant in the just concluded Local Government Council election, Ezinihitte, Princess Julieth Anyanwu, Engr Fred Kamalu, Dr. Uzor Mmezi, ADP State State Chairman, Engr. Paul Ejiogu and many others too numerous to mention.

PoliticsA Legacy Of Kindness: Dr Chima Amadi’s Tribute To Kabaka by Penaldo(op): 6:44pm On Dec 29, 2024
In a world where memories of yesteryear's icons often fade with time, Dr. Chima Mathew Amadi stands tall as a beacon of hope, dedicated to preserving the legacies of legendary figures. One such icon is the incomparable Kabaka, the revered guitarist of the Oriental Brothers, whose soulful melodies captured the hearts of millions in the 1980s and 1990s.

Dr. Amadi's admiration for Kabaka's artistry led him to sign the legendary musician to his record label, providing a platform for Kabaka to release his final album. This remarkable gesture not only revitalized Kabaka's music but also introduced his timeless classics to a new generation of music enthusiasts.

Going beyond the realm of music, Dr. Amadi demonstrated his profound respect for Kabaka by approving a staggering 30 million Naira for the construction of a befitting residence for the legendary musician. Additionally, he generously gifted Kabaka a car, ensuring that the veteran artist's twilight years were filled with comfort and dignity.

Dr. Amadi's selfless acts sparked a chain reaction of kindness, inspiring other celebrities to pay tribute to forgotten musical legends. The likes of Brainjotter, who visited the venerable Mike Ejeagha, followed in Dr. Amadi's footsteps, reigniting a sense of community and respect for the pioneers of Nigerian music.

As the nation bids farewell to Kabaka, whose burial is scheduled for December 30th, 2024, Dr. Amadi has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to honoring the legend's memory. With a generous donation of 5 million Naira to support the family during this difficult time, Dr. Amadi has cemented his position as a guardian of legacies, ensuring that Kabaka's impact on Nigerian music is never forgotten.

In a world where the phrase "legendary" is often tossed about carelessly, Kabaka's remarkable life and career serve as a testament to the transformative power of music. Dr. Chima Mathew Amadi's exceptional gestures, meanwhile, remind us that true greatness lies not only in achieving success but also in uplifting and honoring those who paved the way. As we celebrate Kabaka's life and legacy, we also salute Dr. Amadi, a great man whose selflessness and dedication to preserving our cultural heritage are an inspiration to us all.

PoliticsDr. Chima Amadi Calls For Rational Thought And Godly Development In Synod Lectur by Penaldo(op): 2:53pm On Nov 04, 2024
Imo State was the cynosure of all eyes and ears as Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, Gburugburu 1 of Ngor-Okpala delivered the keynote lecture at the second session of the 10th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Egbu on Saturday.

Taking place at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Ngor-Okpala LGA of Imo State but streamed across radio and TV stations in Imo State, the event saw many people from all parts of Imo State gather to partake in a lecture that promised to mirror the eloquence and diverse knowledge of its speaker.

Delivering his lecture titled "Nzube Chukwu - God is a Thinker: Development as a Heavenly Calling," Dr. Amadi delved into a biblical discourse that affirmed God's nature as the ultimate thinker, who does things through planning and organization instead of rash impulse. He referenced the story and chronology of creation as evidence of God's willingness to take the initiative and plan out his actions.

Continuing his lecture, Dr. Amadi hammered on the spiritual nature of societal development, affirming that societies were supposed to flourish and prosper through fairness and justice as a manifestation of God's will for humanity.

"God’s thoughts, as revealed in His Word, provide the blueprint for what societal progress should look like. Governments and leaders are called to rule justly, reflecting the righteous governance of God. Citizens are called to contribute to the common good, living out the virtues of compassion and love for neighbor. In this sense, societal development is not a secular pursuit but a spiritual one, deeply tied to the wisdom and plan of God."

Touching on the importance of religion in society building both on an African and a global level, he highlighted the importance of the missionaries in fostering formal education in African societies as well as other infrastructural developments.

However, Dr. Amadi lamented the steep decline of social welfare in society, especially in Imo State. He decried the problems being faced in community development in Imo State, especially in the areas of education, and pointed to a damning lack of concern about education that prevailed in the state's leadership circles. He also noted that education was a bedrock of development of any society, and that the neglect of education in Imo State has led to the slow decline of the state.

Acknowledging the powerful role of the church in ensuring a livable society while also preparing Christians for the afterlife, Dr. Amadi called on the church to take more seriously this earthly role, and strive to raise godly and competent leaders who will govern society in tandem with God's intentions for society.

"The church in Nigeria should not stand aloof from politics but rather, see politics as a divine responsibility of engaging governing authorities on socio-economic and political issues that affects humanity. It holds firmly that any indifference toward politics by the church is a deficiency in the knowledge of the Christian calling. When the church assumes this role deliberately and seriously, it will create a better political, economic and social environment force Nigeria in the short and long run respectively."

Concluding his speech, Dr. Amadi called on Christians and the Church to mirror the assured planning that characterized God's creation of humanity, in order to be able to engage in such thoughts as will ensure the development and welfare of citizens in the society.

The Abubakar Bukola Saraki Media Office today notes the news reports arising from an exchange on the floor of the Senate in which the incumbent Senate President, Mr. Godswill Akpabio accused the leadership of the 8th Senate of not fully funding the constituency projects of members.

Our initial response was to ignore the report because Dr. Saraki believes there are more serious existential issues confronting our country and her people like hunger and extreme hardship which should keep the leaders disturbed, busier, and more focused than throwing banters.

However, he has also been persuaded by the need to explain the project funding process in the budget such that members of the public will not be misguided about the roles of the various institutions and individuals in the process.

For clarification, the Saraki Media Office will want members of the public to note that then President Muhammadu Buhari deliberately refused to approve funds for the constituency projects of members of the Eighth National Assembly obviously to punish the members for questioning some of the loan requests presented by the executive before the legislature.

Instead of viewing the legislature’s scrutiny of the loan’s request and the demand for elaborate explanations that would help in making informed decisions as democratic necessities, the Buhari government’s reaction was to be hostile and to seek to stifle the performance of the legislature.

The refusal to fund constituency projects of members of the legislature was used as one of the retaliatory instruments. That was the experience of the 8th National Assembly. Mr. Akpabio, as Senate minority leader for over three years in the four-year tenure of the 8th Senate, ought to know better and even his experience as Senate President in the last eight months also ought to have made him more informed.

Therefore, Mr. Akpabio is very well aware that the leadership of the Eighth Senate cannot be held responsible for failure to fund constituency projects. Unfortunately, he chose to play politics with facts, and as usual, make a joke and jest with serious national issues.

Signed

Senator Natasha Uduaghan: An Activist Senator Living Up to Expectations

By Usman Okai Austin

Previously, many believed that we were only good at pointing out errors and criticizing those in authority, and that we would fail if given the opportunity. Today, Natasha has rewritten history, proving that political activists are not just talkers but doers, not just promise-makers but promise-keepers.

I shouldn't have penned this now, but desperation wouldn't allow me to wait. What else am I waiting for when the truth is out there, visible to the blind and loud enough for deaf ears to hear? You have been able to stand tall in the red chamber, not just as a Senator, but as one whose door is widely open not only to the central district but to all Kogites.

As a Comrade, I am not a praise singer, nor am I writing this to attract any favors. Rather, it is to inform the public that contrary to naysayers' predictions, Senator Natasha is completely different from others.

For those expecting me to list her achievements as a Senator, they will be disappointed because I am not here for that. Her achievements are well-known, and you can testify to them.

Among her numerous achievements is her interest in investigating international fraud that occurred in Ajaokuta Steel Company. This company, which the elites and some leaders conspired to destroy, has the capacity to address national unemployment, provide building materials, technology, and address many other issues. However, today it is a mere shadow of itself, courtesy of corruption and conspiracy.

Every government in power promises to actualize Ajaokuta's dream, yet it remains an annual festival designed to pump money there and divert it at the end.

The decision of the Senate to probe Ajaokuta Steel Company, NIOMCO, over alleged unlawful $496 million payment, initiated by you, is not a mere move to score political goals but one that can right wrongs and prevent further damage to the comatose steel mill.

Ajaokuta, if well-placed, will equate Kogi State with other states like Lagos, Rivers, and Kano in terms of internally generated revenue. This move will thwart future plans to use the steel as a fraudulent compound and ensure justice for those who committed crimes against the state.

As an ordinary citizen, you have led protests against the stagnant position of the steel, even within your own Kogi Central constituency. History beckons on you to ensure the company gets a facelift in collaboration with the Minister of Steel, who is also from Kogi State.

I know without being told that the cabal benefiting from the comatose status of the steel plant will want the status quo to remain, as it enables them to profit. But with your capacity as an activist and upbringing as a comrade who has investigated the steel's activity without any mandate, you can do more now that you have the mandate of your people.

The eyes are on you, and the comradeship community believes you will not fail with prayers from your people and the entire Kogites

PoliticsOur People Need Concrete Plans, Not Empty Slogans - Kwara PDP Slams Gov. Rahman by Penaldo(op): 9:01pm On Feb 24, 2024
As posted on X
The governor's delayed response to the fuel subsidy crisis is a clear sign of misplaced priorities. Kwarans were struggling for months before a committee was even formed in August 2023. Did a few bags of rice truly make up for the hardship faced over such a long period?

Praising a committee is all well and good, but the people demand transparency. Where's the full report outlining the distribution process? How do we know this wasn't simply a way to reward political allies, especially considering the committee head's government connections?

"Fairness" and vague claims of "commendation" mean nothing without concrete evidence. We need independent assessments to prove who actually benefited or if entire communities were left behind. Palliatives are a band-aid, not a solution to the economic problems the governor's policies have helped create.

Kwarans need more than handouts. Where are the state-driven plans to reduce the cost of living, boost employment, and create long-term economic stability?

Finally, promises to "work round the clock" are worthless, bordering on insulting. Our people need concrete plans, not empty slogans. Blaming mysterious "fifth columnists" is pathetic scapegoating; we all know the real culprits of the economic hardship we are facing.
