The Chapter Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party in South Africa, Hon. Ekos Akpokabayen, on Monday held interactive session with the gubernatorial candidate of PDP in Lagos, Dr. Abdulazeez Olajide Adeniran, popularly known as Jandor.

During the visit, Hon. Akpokabayen congratulated Jandor on his emergence as the Party standard bearer for Lagos, and appreciated him for uniting the PDP in the state to unseat the ruling All Progressive Congress in the forthcoming poll.

The Chairman further made donations of campaign materials to support Mr Jandor's Campaign Council, and assured Jandor of the willingness of the South Africa PDP Chapter to collaborate and support Lagos state Chapter for the forthcoming 2023 election and beyond.

The interactive session, which was held in Lagos Campaign Headquarters, also had in attendance members of Jandor's campaign team, Lagos state PDP leaders and journalists.

It has become pertinent to notify members of the public that, the Service Chiefs are not just ready to perform their functions, but also willing to cough out their 'whole nine yards' as a result, but this zeal and or quest is being prevented by the NSA - who is only masterminding lootings at the detriment of Members of the Armed Forces and the teaming population.

According to findings, The NSA has through General Emeka Onwamegbu and the current Director of Finance and accounts acquired properties in the United Kingdom, Dubai and United States of America, they both acquired properties worh billions in the countries mentioned above.

Mongonu’s Wife who has since relocated to the United States of America only comes to Nigeria to stack money from her husband’s Office in anticipation of her husband travelling to America to join his family, ahead of handing over to his successor, just like former Anambra State Governor Obiano State did a couple of months ago.

It's crystal clear that, Mongunu does not want the insecurity in Nigeria to be brought to its logical end, because of his illegitimate financial gains he usually earn from it. It would be recalled that he instigated former Governor of Borno State Shettima not to allow insurgence to come to an end because of the expected money coming to the State for Reconstruction through the then planned establishment of North Eastern Development Commission.

Mongunu claimed that the money earmarked for reconstruction would be stopped should there be peace in the State. That was why the gains of the Armed Forces during the 6 weeks postponement of election in 2015 was reduced to nothing and insecurity has enveloped the whole country. The military cannot succeed in their fight against insurgency as long as Mongunu remains in office as the NSA.

Nigerians must be reminded of His Royal Father, retired Commodore Olawunmi said about Mongunu for being one of the sponsors BOKO HARAM. Mongunu as the National Security Officer succeeded in stopping regular address on the State of the Nation by the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed. He also rubished Governor Umar Zulum for not dancing to his beats. Governor Zulum and El-Rufai are never in his good books.

Intelligence report reveal that, he uses Electronic Monitoring equipment in his office to monitor all telephone conversations of Governors like El- Rufai, Zulum, Fayemi, Uzodinma, San Olu and Ganduje.

At a point, he surreptitiously planned to embarrass the Kano State Governor. the People's Democratic Party Governors are not spared. He is never comfortable with the President’s nephew, vibrant young man called “TUNDE”. He believed that Tunde was exhibiting too much influence on the President to the extent that he is the only one that can administer drugs to Mr President. He has severely tarnished the image and performance of the present Honourable Minister of Defence, General Magashi with a view to personally replace him as the next Minister of Defence in the last year of this administration.

Mongunu who does not enjoy any immunity has continued to dent the image of Mr President who deemed him worthy of the position he's enjoying. In an attempt to curb his excesses, the EFCC Chairman wanted to expose his involvement in corruption, the NSA threatened to sniff live out of the Chairman with open confrontation. It would be recalled that Mongonu deployed Armed Men of the Armed Forces and Police to prevent EFCC staff marking the following properties in Abuja. Since the beginning of the investigations, sources said the NSA had been using his office, making frantic efforts to frustrate the investigations over fears that the multi-billion naira properties were linked to him.

It would also be recalled that on Wednesday May 27, 2021 soldiers allegedly on the orders of the NSA had threatened to shoot officials of the EFCC that came to mark properties seized from Mr Mohammed at Sun City estate, Lokogoma, Abuja.
Unfazed by the NSA’s pressure to stop the investigation, the operatives of the anti-graft Agency swung into action.

It would be recalled also that the EFCC had obtained an interim forfeiture from a Federal High Court in Abuja on March 11, 2021, and proceeded to mark eight properties belonging to the military officer in Abuja. Justice Folashade Ogunbanjo had in a suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/007/2021 ordered the interim forfeiture of eight properties linked to Mr Mohammed, who is a trusted front or aide to the NSA.

Some of the properties in Abuja include: a house at 7 God’s Own Estate, Road 1, Wamba District; a fenced plot at 1 Jubril Aminu Crescent, Katampe Extension; a plot at Kubwa Express Road directly opposite Abuja Model City Gate; a house at Block SD 22, Road 5, Kabusa Garden Estate, Abuja; Plot 15, 21st Crescent, Second Avenue, Gwarinpa; 3 Liverpool Close, Sun City Estate and; 25 Osaka Street, Sun City. Whilst properties in Kano valued at N10.9B were recently forfeited on orders of an Abuja Federal High Court, those properties in Abuja linked to General Mongunu through his proxy deals were yet to be charged to Court by EFCC or ICPC. Specially, his properties in the United States of America including his personal residence at 12712 Shoppes Ln Fairfax, Virginia, VA 22033 USA were to be forfeited to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

Is there any difference between Diezani Madueke under People's Democratic Party and Mongunu under All Progressives Congress? MONGONU has rubbished the performance of the Office of the National Security Adviser under President administration. It is most surprising that a corrupt person like MONGONU without constitutional immunity has not been brought to courts in Nigeria to defend his illegal acquisition of properties in many countries using proxies and Bureau De Change operators.

The nation is watching ICPC and EFCC leadership who are afraid of embarrassing the President in bringing MONGONU to justice. Northern Youths have been clamoring for his removal for the loss of many lives in the North. And because he has not been removed, insecurity has enveloped the country because of his inability to do the needful. It must however be noted that his failure is largely because he was not an intelligence trained officer in the Nigerian Army. You cannot give what you don’t have.

The National Security Adviser is yet to be brought to Court like others implicated in the Presidential Arms Panel Committee Report - in which MONGONU was to account for N3,000,000,000 while holding sway as Chief of Defence Intelligence. EFCC under Magu was quick to arraign persons implicated in the Committee’s Report failed to charge MONGONU to Court. MONGONU as the National Adviser to the President has no immunity under the Constitution (1999 as amended) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Mongonu should be charged to Court now by EFCC and ICPC based on various allegations against him.

Insurgency in Nigeria would not end if the advice of HRM, retired Commodore Olawuni against MONGONU is not dealt with. Nigerian soldiers and innocent civilians will continue to die as result of ineffective coordination by the National Security Adviser.

Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka, the immediate past deputy governor of Ekiti State, was the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2018 governorship election. During the electioneering period, he ran an intellectually based but robust campaign that endeared him to the masses and stakeholders across party lines. His campaign was boosted by his excellent performance in office as Deputy Governor and Supervisor of the State's Education subsector during that period. Although he was overwhelmingly voted at the polls, the combined forces of federal might and other forces afraid of the development of Ekiti State used the instrumentality of the powers that be to rob him of victory.

Almost four years later, the Professor of Building is again in the race for the state governorship seat that will be vacated by the unpopular APC administration in October 2022. His entrance is due to popular agitation of the people of Ekiti State that are bemoaning the awful performance of the APC administration in the state in the last four years.

Although there are thirteen aspirants in Ekiti State Chapter of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that has shown interest in the state's gubernatorial seat, including some 'attachments', stakeholders' rank and file members believe that Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka is the most qualified and best port of call for the party.

The reasons are as follows;

1. Being a Professor of Building, Eleka belongs to the intellectual class of Nigeria. Ekiti state (and Nigeria) is at a time where the demand for intellectuals to take over reins of leadership from the 'career politicians', and Eleka fits that requirement.

2. Professor Eleka is highly experienced and prepared for the job of governance. As Deputy Governor, he handled so well the state's educational subsector and restored Ekiti to its rightful place as a fountain of knowledge - which the current administration has unfortunately eroded. Aside from education, he had been well prepared in other aspects of governance as the former number two political office holder in the state and Deputy Chairman of the State's Executive Council for four years.

3. As an indigene of Ikere-Ekiti of Ekiti South Senatorial zone, Professor Eleka belongs to the area that is yet to taste gubernatorial power since the state's creation in the year 1996. At present, the agitation for a Governor from Ekiti Southern zone is at the optimal level; the Party cannot afford to ignore the sentiment of this zone with the highest number of local government areas in the state.

4. Professor Eleka is a good ambassador of PDP and a loyal party man who the party can trust. He is not a political traveller that moves from party to party. Furthermore, he is the only aspirant that all others are comfortable with. He is also loved and admired by the party's rank and file due to his kindheartedness.

5. Professor Eleka is easily marketable to Ekiti electorates. Should the Peoples Democratic Party field him as its candidate, it will have no challenges in marketing him as the campaign messages of 2018 will simply be reinforced in the minds of the people of the state.

6. Professor Eleka's candidacy is appealing to the youths due to his relatively young age, he appeals to the women of Ekiti state due to his kind-heartedness, he appeals to the elders because he always accords them respect, he appeals to people of all faiths due to his belief in God and respect for other religions, and he appeals to the intellectuals in the state because he is one of them.

Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and candidate in the 2018 election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, announced the immediate past State Secretary of People's Democratic Party, PDP, Hon. Tope Adejorin as Director-General of his Campaign Organisation, adding that all coordinators across the state will be unveiled in a shortest time.

In a statement signed by the former University Don today, which was made known through his media aide, Adebisi Adeola, the appointment of Honorable Anjorin was sequel to his grassroots connection and commitment to the ethos of the party.

"You must have seen that our approach is a bit different from others since we started the race. Our strategies to win the coming primary election are intact. As we continue with our consultations and goodwill messages to the stakeholders and members of our great party, we hope to run inclusive campaigns that will embrace willing party members who believe in our principle and programme to restructure PDP and prioritise the welfare of its members", Eleka said

Anjorin who hails from Afao Ekiti in Irepodun/Ifelodun local government (I.I.L.G) was the Pioneer Secretary, PDP, I. I. L. G; Former Chairman PDP . I. I. L. G; former Acting State Secretary PDP, Ekiti State, 2015 - May 2016 and State Secretary of PDP, Ekiti State between May 2016 and May 2020.

In the meeting where the appointment was announced were the Ikere Local Government Chairman, Hon Sunday Asebiomo; the PDP State Legal Adviser, Barr Sunday Olowolafe; Ikere LG PDP Secretary, Hon Ayodele Adeyeye; Ilejemeje LG PDP Youth Leader, Hon. Martins Ayo; Prof. Popoola, Prince Ademola Adebayo , Hon Kayode Adetunji,former Ekiti Central Senatorial Chairman; Hon Olaiya Tunde, Ise Orun LG Auditor; Hon Agboola Isaiah, Ise Orun LG Treasurer; Hon Tayo Ayodele and Hon Olowo from Ekiti South West LG; Hon Abegunde from Emure LG, Pas Adeleke from Ido/Osi LG and others.

The former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and frontline gubernatorial aspirant in the forthcoming election under the platform of the Peoples' Democratic Party, Professor Olusola Eleka, has stated that the return of the party to power come 2022 is not negotiable.
 
Eleka, who stated this in a press statement personally signed, on Thursday, also expressed that he is committed to any discussion or movement that will bring about peace and unity in the party, with a view to ensuring victory at the polls in 2022.
 
The former deputy governor, while noting further that Ekiti South Agenda is a right and timely demand to ensure fairness in the distribution of power in the state, explained that nobody is indispensable in politics, and everyone should be given the opportunity to contribute to the development of the party and the state entirely.
 
He said: "In a situation where the party is in the opposition, leaders of repute, both within and outside the states are welcome to discuss the future of the party and strategies to use to oust the ruling All Progressive Congress.  I have seen where some people argued about the homogeneity nature of the state. This may be right and also be seen from another perspective.
 
“What is the rationale behind picking a deputy from another zone, different from where the governor comes from since the creation of the state in 1996? So, I want to clearly state that nobody is indispensable in politics; hence all stakeholders should be given the opportunity and fair hearing to contribute to the development of the party and the state.”
 
Eleka, however, urged stakeholders to put the interest of the party first in their political dealings and called on all members in the sixteen local government areas to join hands together to deliver the return of PDP to power in 2022.
 
“There is clear evidence that the South has been marginalised directly or indirectly. It will be magnanimous enough to look at the South in 2022, given the array of quintessential leaders of substance in the zone to man the leadership of the state for another 4 years.
 
“I can tell you that aggrieved APC members are on the lookout for a united PDP for option in 2022 because the current APC government under Dr. Fayemi has failed in its promises to deliver good governance in Ekiti State. As PDP leaders and stakeholders are preparing to elect the party's candidate in the forthcoming primary election, competence, unity of purpose and accessibility of aspirants should be considered ahead of stipends,” Eleka said.
 
He also charged party members who are eighteen years above not to take voter’s registration with kid gloves, saying that technological advancement, which has reshaped the electoral process, is important to change the status quo in Ekiti.
