bought my new lappy from a nler, the battery is superb..the point is if you want your battery to last, reduce the screen brightness, its even good for the eyes since ure not using screen guard....mostly 4.5 to 5.5 hrs after full charge..thanks to Enquirydon

The beauty is seeing the microcontroller controlling everything and at the same time reducing components used in realizing the cct. I never used the usual multivibrator. The whole thing is wrap up in a firmware written into the memory of the chip. Or would you like electronic calendar? It'll display the date and time but it'll cost you big.
