I generate content for this blog by asking hiring managers about their careers and what they would have done different. The #1 response I receive is, “I wish I would have started my professional network earlier.” Seriously 9 out of 10 tell me this, so listen. continue reading at http://www.ansacareers.com/dont-screw-up-your-career-build-your-professional-network/ |
Whether the examination is to be of the essay type or of the objective type, there are certain common practices employed by good students which may be helpful to you. These practices include but are not limited to: 1. Make a schedule for review. Take into consideration when various examinations are to take place and how much time you think you should allocate for each subject. 2. List the main topics treated in each subject and make sure you adequately cover not less than eighty percent of the topics in every subject. 3. Go back over all course materials and select facts and details, such as laws, principles, theories, ideas, formulas, illustrations, definitions, events, etc., to be learned and highlight them. As you are doing the above, try to anticipate questions that may be asked by the examiner. 4. Use your notes to get answers to such questions and outline them very well. These would be very good study materials before and revision materials during the examination period. 5. Join a group study of serious minded students who are capable or more capable than you are and form yourself into a study group. Read why group study is important for your academic success. 6. Go back over the assignments and tests that have been turned to you during the semester. Be sure that you can answer all of the questions perfectly. All of the above should be done without being anxious so that all your efforts will not be destroyed by unnecessary anxieties and worries. If you find yourself dwelling upon fears associated with the examinations, redirect your thoughts to what you can do to prepare yourself to improve your performance. Worrying is usually a negative substitute for action; hence, when you worry you are not studying. source: http://www.eduansa.com/109-2/ |
There are several causes leading to poor academic performance in school. If these causes are not dealt with, such students would continue to swim in poor performance. Due to these inability factors, many students never excelled in class; they are relaxed taking distance position in their classes. Some of the factors that affect students’ academic performance are: 1. Slothfulness: Some students are so lazy and sluggish to devote proper time to their studies. They while away time, play, sleep always and only end up with last minutes rush on eve of their examinations or tests. Such students are planning to fail and if they managed to pass at all, they end up on the average. 2. Improper timetable: Any student without a proper timetable or workable timetable is planning to fail. It is sad that many students do not have timetable at all. They have no direction in life. This often results in outright failure or average performance. 3. Inadequate study time: This is common occurrence among students of today. They have no time to thoroughly study their books. No student can lay claim to excellent performance without burning the midnight candle. In the words of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, “The heights that great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.” If there is any short cut to success, I’ve not find one yet. Students must painstakingly study to excel. 4. Financial constraint: Financial constraint is one of the factors inhibiting students’ performance in their studies. When there is no money to purchase textbooks and other study materials needed to reach the pinnacle of success, the end result is often an average performance. Read how to make money on campus as a student to overcome your financial constraint. 5. Lack of study materials: unavailability of study materials would certainly impede students’ progress. Many students fail their SSCE, GCE, UTME and other examinations or at worse come out with poor result because of inadequate study materials. Students who possess adequate study materials and more focus will likely excel more than those who do not possess such. 6. Broken home: A broken home is a potential factor leading to total failure or average performance of students in their academic pursuit. Broken home could lead to depression, thus impeding progress. 7. Doubt: doubt is a giant that stays on the border of the promise land (success) to terrify and make students who are marching on to success afraid. Doubt defeats the belief system and desire for success and as such, success is hindered. Doubt always defeats its victim, a doubter is a loser and is bound to lose as his future is all darkness, defeat and average performance. continue reading at: http://www.eduansa.com/10-causes-of-poor-academic-performance-in-school-most-students-never-admit-8/ |
Chiscomax:i'll find out for you, but what industry are you interested in? |
Actually the problem with fresh graduates not getting job faster is that they don’t have enough practical knowledge in university, so in time of recession they suffer due to limited knowledge. Sometimes after your undergraduate degree also some students lack soft skills for a particular job due to absence of appropriate experience. Most of the companies don’t want to spend huge sum of money to train fresh graduates. So an undergraduate student should set his goal at the beginning of his career and work accordingly to develop the required skill set needed for industry. Students can apply to companies accepting I.T student for hands-on experience. Doing this will help in creating more employable candidates. Read how to fix it here: www.ansacareers.com/6-best-companies-for-industrial-training-in-nigeria/ |

@ babs01 I'm sorry I don't give people I.T placement. I only share info on how to apply, when to apply and where to apply for an I.T placement |
haftob:go to their office to enquire about the date of application for this year's intake (I guess that will be ending of this month or early February). to clear your doubt visit their office near your. I'm onboard presently. Lagos office is at VI while pH is at Trans Amadi |
@ olaisababs the requirements for I.T in Total include: handwritten application stating; matric num, course of study, current year of study, duration of I.t, contact email, phone num. I.T letter from school, valid school ID a passport photograph. you will need a Total staff to referee you before your application is accepted if you are applying from pH office. also you don't need a referee to submit your application if you are applying from Lagos office. let me know if you have any difficulty applying, I can link you up with the HRM in charge of I.T students recruitment. hope this helps |
