Zoranga seems OK to me, what are your reservations please. If its their charges alone then please don't spoil their business because what I saw there isn't an easy venture to setup I'm trying to do something like that and it has cost me and my partners over 6m and we are not yet done.

As na old car 20 w50 can suffice. Use brand of total, Mobil or even the Toyota oil. 10 w30 is hard to find unlike other synthetic oils like 5w30, 5w40, 0w40 etc.

That's cool, but aren't these spending some time at the mechanic after these adventure or just the car wash.

I heard even some of other Toyota trucks have this issue because their ball joint is inverted or stuff like that. So dude, its just precaution. Its bad road and I believe flood could also be an issue. I think maintenance is the key and changing your ball joints before and after the raining season or every year is the key. A fmr colleague of mine changed his every 6months and has never experienced the issue not once in his life.

[color=Blue]The only issue with water ingress when an engine is steam cleaned, is compromised electrical connectors. If they have been "modified", then these connectors won't be water proof. Water in such areas can cause short circuits, partial or total.

Alternators are seldom waterproof, and are designed to operate even if water gets in under normal operation conditions. When driving in pouring rain, the engine bay does get wet, through the front grille, as well as from underneath the car. The fan also throws water over all components, including the alternator, ignition coil etc. If this will put a car out of action, then there's a problem.

Even with my mom's old Peugeot 504 GL, I washed the engine regularly with a hose and stiff brush, the only vulnerable area was the distributor, which I protected with a plastic carrier bag. This car never had any issues stemming from regular engine washing, and the engine bay looked mint. We lived in Benin City, with it's red dust, so I washed the engine and the bay once every 2 weeks.

My Audi A4 Quattro engine is steam cleaned / pressure washed on a regular basis, I have been doing this for over 20 years, and I'm yet to suffer any catastrophic failure. On occasion, I have had a misfire, which has cleared itself as the engine warmed up, but this was in the early days. Now I run the engine till it's warm, then proceed to steam clean it while it's still running. Which is a similar condition to driving in heavy rain conditions.[/color]

Daddy Siena if I got you right, you mean you wash the engine when car is running, isn't there a possibility of contraction of the engine as heat expand metal and water contracts. Just learning because I had a misfire once which I traced to the distributor, I then removed and cleaned with gasoline and I was good to go. This happened in my Camry but haven't washed the benz engine once just afraid of German electricals.

No worries bro, i first heard this from Smart Choice some months back, He actually mentioned Siena..I had to go on intensive research of these and was always knock off by some critiques, but later was convinced by some powerful testimonies just like the ones you posted out there. Also, in my own testimony-my little c180 was becoming obvious in her power and responses, so i almost got mad and was very much concern.
Infact, i went extra miles wanting to do some mods as in replacing the exhaust with that of c200, installing K & N filter , and ordering of Merceded Benz performance chip abroad-not until this process saves me all that headache. I even had to pick an ML 500 4matic, just for power and bad road, as i couldn't readily see the AMG version. Mehn! that car has great torque, non like it..absolutely no regret. Here too the economy became excellent after the flush and other clean up, its unbelievable an 8 cylinder engine in terms of economy.
