DO YOU KNOW THAT STUDYING °°MEDICINE AND SURGERY°° IN ANY NIGERIA UNIVERSITY IS NOW **11** YEARS... Executive Secretary of NUC, Professor Julius Okojie
Medical students in Nigeria have been mandated by the National Universities Commission to spend eleven years in the university.
According to the Punch, this mandate was made during the lecture “Development of Medical Education: Prospects and Challenges”, presented by
Professor Chiedu Mafiana on behalf of the commission’s Executive Secretary Professor Julius Okojie at the maiden matriculation and inauguration of the University of Medical Science, Ondo State.
He explained that the first four years will be spent studying basic sciences in the university while the next seven years will be spent at the medical school. This, he maintained, would aid the students’ psychological growth and prepare them for the future.
The Governor of Ondo State Olusegun Mimiko was also in attendance and while expressing his optimism about the school, he stated that the university should make the most of the medical complex around the institution in conducting medical research.
He affirmed, “It is our hope and belief that it will provide sound scientific, technological and professional training to address identified health needs and problems, solve them within the context of community and national needs and sustainable development.”

I pity candidates that wrote their exam on 27th and 29th of Feb. 2016 in which I was among, bcoz we were marked down due to negative marking or IRT or woteva they call it. They now eventually added 40 mrks wh make no inference.. Well, i got 234 but I knw wot i did, i deserve more than that. If nt for d negative marking i would hav been awarded 280+. I dey vex lyk mad ... If u wrote ur exam on 27th nd 29th of feb.gear up nd let us start the protest otherwise we will be cheated. Don't 4get dat ppu are now getting 250+ easily since it's past questions dey r repeating, hence d cut off for competitive courses will be high
We must do something abt diz!!!!

Those teachers who helped you were the types who carried first from behind during their student days, lolz.
Seriously, you lose a mark plus another mark , as penalty, for every wrong answer you give in the Jamb exams. However, for any question you leave unanswered, maybe you dont have the answer, you are given one-quarter of the mark as bonus.
The above scenerio holds true for all objective exams in order to discourage guess work.
Your papers were marked by computer readers and must have given an objective assessment of your performance.
Better luck next time.

nice one chairman you talk like u AR dibu himself..so sure like u the computer that marks I av student wit the Same issues who wrote and are very sure of what theyve written and yet given less expected scores .not not every one with less scores truly performed poorly .tink well Mr so called
