I still find it crazy how Messi, who provides so much more for his team, has a much better career goal ratio than Ronaldo. Just 39 goals less from 150 less matches. Also, if you take away their penalty goals, Messi has only scored 14 less goals in his career.
Without penalties:

Messi 523 goals in 747 games
Ronaldo 537 goals in 897 games.

And when you take away free kicks as well and look at purely just goals scored in open play, Messi has only two career goals less:

Messi 484 goals,
Ronaldo's 486 goals.

All this goes to show why Messi even is ahead of him as a scorer, despite not being obsessed with goals. The media obviously will never mention these stats, because they know like with stats in so many other aspects that favour Messi, the myth they're comparable would be exposed.

And if you combine career goals and assists, including all the extra penalties CR has scored and those 150 games extra, Messi has a total of 846 career goals/assists, compared to Ronaldo's 844. So Messi has been directly involved in more goals over his career than Ronaldo... FOR THOSE WHO STILL THINK ITS WORTH COMPARING OR ARGUING ...I JUST SMH...I STOPPED ENGAGING IN THESE ARGUMENTS IN 2012

Junk! That would mean he started professional football at the age of 12 or 13(which is not true). Or they counted his 5-aside and many unprofessional training goals alongside. He started professional football at about the age of 16 or thereabouts. He can not have played that number of professional games and accrue that number of goals at that age.
