When I was taking my 12.5 kg cylinder to the gas station last weekend. almost had to hug that cylinder, cause the gas tried for me, no be small. I refilled it at the end of November, hoping it would last me and my family for 2 months. Lols! I took a risk and didn’t refill it at the end of January, and boom, it took us through to the end of February, making the usage 3 months. The shocker! When I got to the gas station, I asked the attendant to weigh it so I could know how much I would need to refill. I was informed that I still had about 3.5 kg left! Haa! I spent far less than I had budgeted to refill it. Is this not God? Lols.. If Jesus tarries... Travel › Re: 6 Countries That Are Rich But Their Citizens Are Poor by Phabulous4(m): 10:00am On Feb 19, 2025 |
One thing is common among all the countries highlighted! presence of Oil and natural gas and other natural resources. That which is suppose to be a blessing has turn to cause. here is how it happen. Significantly few people in government have access to large amount of wealth without doing much of economic activities. Just extract, sell and keep for yourself. As a result they focus less on developing other areas of the economy which would have bring real benefit to the people. such as agriculture, technology, manufacturing and innovation. They also discovered the more impoverished the people are the more secured their position at the top is. soo they do everything to keep and maintain the statoscope. Do little for them to survive but less for them to challenge us. divide them by keeping few of them happy and deluded. sheriffden: Rich countries often give the illusion of a high standard of living, well-funded public services, and flourishing economies.
However, that is not the case for these countries where the paradox of immense wealth contrasts sharply with widespread poverty among the citizens. Several factors contribute to this phenomenon, including wealth disparity, political instability, economic mismanagement, and a lack of wealth distribution.
While a country might have natural resources like oil, gas, or minerals that generate massive revenues, the wealth often fails to trickle down to the general population. It remains concentrated in the hands of a few elite individuals. Corruption, inefficient government systems, and political conflict also hinders progress and creates an unequal distribution of resources. Let's look at some of these countries below;
1. Qatar
Qatar is one of the richest countries in the world based on GDP per capita, primarily due to its vast natural gas reserves. However, despite the nation's wealth, a large percentage of its population, particularly migrant workers live in poverty and are subjected to exploitative practices, with minimal access to basic services.
2. United Arab Emirates (UAE)
The UAE, particularly Dubai and Abu Dhabi, is known for its opulent infrastructure, high-rise buildings, and extravagant lifestyles. The country has made vast fortunes from oil and gas however, the wealth is not shared equally. A significant portion of the UAE’s population consists of low-paid migrant workers who live in substandard conditions which starkly contrasts with the wealth enjoyed by the Emirati elite.
3. Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is another country rich in oil, and its wealth has funded a lavish lifestyle for many of its citizens. However, much of the population still struggles with unemployment, high poverty rates, and a lack of economic opportunities, particularly among the younger generation. While the royal family and other elites enjoy vast fortunes, the average citizen remains in poverty.
4. Nigeria
Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy, is a prime example of a country that is rich in natural resources but where the wealth is unevenly distributed. The country is home to vast oil reserves, however, a large percentage of Nigerians live in poverty. Corruption, poor governance, and economic mismanagement have prevented the country from harnessing its wealth for the benefit of all its citizens.
5. Venezuela
Venezuela has one of the largest oil reserves in the world, making it one of the richest countries in terms of natural resources. However, decades of political instability, economic mismanagement, and corruption have caused the country to experience a sharp decline in living standards. Venezuela is now struggling with hyperinflation, food shortages, and severe poverty and most Venezuelans live in poverty.
6. Angola
Angola is an oil-rich country in Africa that has significant natural resources, including oil and diamonds, which have generated massive wealth for the country. However, the vast majority of Angolans still live in poverty. High levels of corruption, lack of infrastructure, and political instability have prevented the wealth from reaching the general population.
While natural wealth and economic power can lead to national prosperity, the benefits do not always reach the wider population. The wealth of a nation must be equitably shared, so that the prosperity of a nation can be enjoyed by all its citizens, not just a select few.

2021. Account Officer at D@ng[sub][/sub]ote Cement, Okpella Plant. It didn’t seem right for me to go to Edo State from Lagos with no relocation allowance, plus a lot of goofy behavior from the HR personnel. My wife had just lost a six-month pregnancy, which would have been our first child, our second miscarriage. Plus I had a personal revelation after weeks of praying and ask God, am I really going to Okpella in this condition and everything going on around me at the time?? In the final week before resumption, I got another offer from a fintech company in Ibadan with a relocation allowance, better pay and a more friendly work environment. I knew what to do at that instant. I sent the rejection of offer mail. It was the best decision at that time. I am back in Lagos now, working for one of the biggest company in the manufacturing sector. IyaTola: Have you ever rejected a job offer? If yes, why? |

I don't have to look far. I am a living testimony. I don't do drugs nor addicted. but I ones carelessly took what a friend offered me. that was 2017, in delta state, during my NYSC, I had a violence seizure. I was in class in front of my student. I woke up in the hospital. Thank God for teachers that colleague God used for my rescue. I just came back from my ICAN exam when the incident happened so the presumed I was stressed out or something. That was the first time I had seizure in my life and I didn't even know what happen, it was people that was telling everything. If you give me anything to drink or take now, I will ask question ooo! I don't want to die before my time. even alcohol, I stopped it completely. Only God can save. I pray the grace of God found you in this desperate time of your, I ask that God extend His mercy towards you. I shit is real, the best is not to get hooked. Avoid it if you haven't started, stop when you can. when takes over, it has not mercy. Ehismarkninetee: I was introduced to Tramadol in 2015 because I complained to him that I wasn’t lasting long during sex. So he prescribed Tm to me. At first I hated the feeling I just took it because it really helped with the early ejaculation.
Fast forward to 2020; I am now fully attended to this evil, it is now holding me by my neck, choking me . But I cannot seem to let go.
Tramadol has taken a lot from me; My pride, my focus, my Looks, my health, my family and most importantly my finances. I have had serious seizures that nearly took my life with my family members as witness. Now they know my situation and they are indeed very disappointed in me.
I had another seizure yesterday but the worst part of it is that it wasn’t only the seizure, I was acting demented with my clothes off. I take nothing less than 1500mg daily.
It has ruined everything because just calculate how much I have to spend for this evil everyday. For example I didn’t miss one last year 2024. It seems am now powerless to this evil. I cannot hustle anymore, I just want to take Tramadol and just lock myself indoors, all my friends have left me behind but am still living with my mum at age 31. Indeed am tired. Am really tired
I need help to stop this. I have prayed, I have tried everything. It’s not working. Please has anyone been in the situation before?? Please help me!!!!! |

Picture is a misrepresentation... that is a back to school reunion program! GistMedia0: Let’s take a trip down memory lane and compare SS3 students from the 1990s to those in the 2020s. Back in the 1990s, SS3 students had an aura of maturity that was hard to miss. They looked and acted like young adults, ready to face the world. Many were already talking about their future careers, getting into serious relationships, or even learning real-life survival skills.
Now, enter the 2020s. SS3 students today seem way more playful and carefree—some might even say childish. Their world revolves around TikTok trends, memes, and the latest fashion. It's like they’re in no rush to grow up, unlike the older generation that felt the weight of responsibility early on.
So, here’s the million-naira question: Is it true that SS3 students in the early 90s were much older and more mature compared to what we see in the 2020s? |
