May be, but I doubt because the volumes on offer are big figures, I suspect they are people that bought at 15 to 20 naira, so selling at N50 won't be a problem for them. zendi: A well upbeat Q3 Result should now be rushed into the market. You are not getting my point. For instance, if I'm in Aradel I would have sold @ N500 max instead of further average down by bring fresh capital into a falling stock. I will rather leave the stock for the dust to settle instead of buying when I'm seeing daily 10% loss. emmanuelewumi: You only average down a stock that is doing well fundamentally but the price is falling.
I averaged down Presco, my average cost is less than N180 even with the purchases I made last week at between N450 and N455 |

I don't really know much about Aradel. I'm yet to trade the stock, but when the dust settles. I will invest in it heavily for a long term. emmanuelewumi: Aradel will come down to N250.
The post stock split price for the guy selling is N25, has recoup his investment through dividends in less than 4 years.

If he sells at N250 his compounded annualized return is over 60% from 2018 till date |

No, is the realty, similar situation happened around sept 2023 when Oando moved from N7 to N16, I want ted to sell my 5m units then but I couldn't because of full offer which made the stock back to N8 within few days. I had to hold on the share a bit longer. megawealth01: VAWULENCE is that you? |

Well said! The post is for investors not gamblers emmanuelewumi: Look at investment over a period of 5 years and above to determine if you have made money from the investment.
Seplat was N600 in 2018 and even came down to N300 over the years, the company paid dividends 4 times.
Nahco was listed at N5, it came down to N2 sef over the years, we all know the current stock price of Nahco snd the company never missed dividend payments since it was listed over 20 years.
Presco and Okomu were listed at N5, both never missed dividend payment since they were listed.
Let us go back in time to 1999, Nestle was N20 in 1999, Unipetrol (nos known as Oando) was over N40 in 1999.
Nestle rose to over N1000, never missed dividend payments. Although Nestle is currently having challenges at least shareholders have made their money back in multiple folds.
Compared to the other one that could not pay dividends for decades. And shareholders funds was wiped off

To be honest gross margins on oil & gas businesses are slim. They make money from volume. GeeKudi: Auditors need to start querying what companies are reporting as cost of sales. In so many of the results released since last week, you see cost of sales/operating cost eating up over 90% of company's revenue. |

People can be funny 😁, a few weeks ago someone posted that he has lost money on DS, I showed him sympathy and advise him to exit and move to another promising stock, then come back to DS after recovery if he so much believe in DS, but he didn't take the advise. Now another person his blaming his loss on someone because he didn't publicly disclosed that he has exited. RodgersAkpafu: Seems like some people are yet to get a hang of this "investment thing" The plain truth is that ONLY YOU are responsible for your trading decisions, good outcome or bad.
You have to accept whatever decision YOU made and keep it moving 💯 Investments are for the long haul, we are talking years upon years upon years
I remember my experience with RedStar Express (the rollercoaster ride over the years) But I stayed put and today the investment had paid off, as in addition to dividends and bonus shares, I am almost 100% up ( give or take)
that's how the market is sometimes you gotta wait it out |

A few weeks ago, everyone were analysing Aradel here by giving a negative comments without quarrel or fight, someone posted his reviews with fact and figures on Oando, people started attacking him. I said it here a few weeks ago that capital markets is like a gangan drum what faces someone is backing another person. I'm sure no one here have a controlling interest in Oando, why are your taking someone's opinion on a stock personal? Instead of seeing his points and adjust if you think it's necessary. Oando loyalist should learn not to be too emotional and I believe they can do better.
For those expecting someone tell you they have exited a stock before you decide on yours, you will wait tire, no one will do that for you. People's investment is private, so they can chose not to make it public.
Good morning folks! |

You have a point like you said "In some cases", I'm sure MBC can never give out such loan without collateral, and if they don't believe in the company's prospect they won't choose the conversion option, they would have choose the alternate option and take their loss. emmanuelewumi: At times the creditor might not have any other option to getting his money back other than accepting to cover the loan to equity and then have a seat on the board

MBC was a creditor to ELLAHLAKES, they converted debt to equity. To me this is a sign of prospect, for a creditor who is vast in the capital market to accept debt to equity conversion, there must be an untapped gold in such company. BabsO2: Why did 3 out of the 4 directors reduce their number of shares in the last one year. However, it is good to see one of the substantial shareholders - Blackman & Co. Ltd - increase stakes. It is also good to see MBC securities springing up to take a 14% stake in the business.
Since number of shares in the year increased by 753,786,788 shares it means apart from MBC Securities that took a new 383,738,196 share position, most of the other new positions must have been taken by retail investors. |

Thank you for the beautiful reply, they believe Oando appreciated with fundamentals 😂, by the time Japaul announced the acquisition of 50 percent equity stake in H&H Mines and “a 100% acquisition of Covenant Gems & Gold Minerals Limited in Eti-oni, Atakumosa Local Government, Osun State, they will eat back their words. A company that got an investment of 20B naira equity in a private placement even at premium higher than listed price should not be written off. I repeat Japaul and ELLAHLAKES movement will be shocking. ndept: Is it fundamentals that moved Japaul from the previous 23k in less than 2 years ago to the current price of 230k (over 800% capital appreciation)? Japaul's stock price has been moving all this while based on sentiments. Let us get it right and set the record straight, it is NOT only fundamentals that moves the price of stocks in NGX. For example, if Japaul's journey into gold mine sees the light of the day, don't be suprised to see the price in the N4 region (even before they announce any financial result)
Again, is it fundamentals that moved Oando from N10 to N85 (over 600%) within 3 months, but sentiments and hope of a better future for the company based on the current information at our disposal. Again, Is it only stocks with fundamentals that Warren Buffet bought that gave him the fortunes he has now.? I know that you are an investor that thrives with fundamentals, but someone like me and others here combines all the factors together to play the market and I am indeed proud of my achievement and give Glory to God, I am a trader and an investor at the same time, I simply applied different method suitable for every stock I buy.
To borrow the words of @bullbearmarket, everyone here should simply put on the table what he/she has to offer that has been rewarding him/her and let whoever DESIRES, act or discard it, after all, nobody is being paid here to suggest the stocks to buy, but we are all saying our mind based on the fact that we all want everyone to make it big in the stock market.
Good luck to each and everyone. |

Don't waste your time on this topic. You can not wake someone who pretend sleeping, you can only wake someone who is asleep. Divineability: Let me lend a voice to this discourse. The 100% or so wage increase is actually a ruse and deception. The category of workers that will benefit that 100 % is infinitesimally small, if there is at all. By the government's consequential adjustment magic, most junior workers will get less than 50%, most middle workers will get less than 30% raise, while most senior workers will get less than 20%. When you juxtapose that with the astronomical increase in goods, food, transport, services, and other parameters of cost living, workers' purchasing power is actually nosediving, and far from increasing. He who wears the shoe knows where it pinches, I challenge anyone to do a finding on workers' living condition; it is worse than pathetic. In fact, I am doing this typing with a heavy heart. So, no one should think the wage thing will positively impact the economy, market, business, or company bottomline. Pls visit: https://economicconfidential.com/2024/09/minimum-wage-adjustments/ |

Raider76: Oga. They didn't cancel the Ministry of the Niger Delta. They only changed the name and brought in other similar regional development Commissions. We need to help reduce the tension in our country not increase it with such dangerous rumors. There will be difference in the structure, this thing is mine, is different from this thing is ours. I know that the ministry wasn't that beneficial to the poor people of N/D, but the crook leaders who are stealing the ministry funds will start sponsoring unrest in that region to threaten the govt. |
