YonkijiSappo: First, better life in the sense of this thread means, exploring the opportunities that they wouldn't have otherwise gotten in their own state.
To ur question: Because of 2 reasons: 1: Your best and most intellectually sound minds emigrate 2: Poorer immigrants in any part of the world are more keen to struggle harder than resident natives already relatively better off. In USA for example, the Nigerians are one of the more successful groups educationally, because they are coming from a poorer background. Doesn't mean Nigerians are more advanced or anything.
Imagine it yourself, if every Imo indigene stayed in Imo, does Imo state government have the capacity to build all the primary, secondary and tertiary institutions to educate them all? that is part of what they are enjoying for not living in Imo. You just looking for cheap excuse and you contradicted your post Number 2 is not true, Nigerians are not successful because they are from poor background, it's because they have got what it takes, we all know that the most Nigerian immigrants in the US are from the Southern Nigeria, Have you wondered why Nigerians made the number 1 most educated immigrants in the US but can't make top 20 most educated countries in Africa? Yes Nigeria is number 21st in the list, If the Southern Nigeria is a country it would be the number 1 |

YonkijiSappo: Imo state people spread all over Nigeria , in places like Lagos, Rivers, Kaduna etc, and use the opportunities they would have never have had in their Imo state to live better lives in those places, thereby enabling them to send their wards to school. That is just the fact. Most of those Imo numbers are from Imolites living outside Imo or even the SE.
If Imo was performing at Anambra's level, then You guyz won't even see our backs in the SW. Why do Imolites come to your region and live better life than you and even have the opportunities to send their wards to schools? |

YonkijiSappo: This is about Ethnic populations, NOT Number of states. If for Example there was an additional Igbo state, then, there would also be an additional Yoruba state from a state like Kwara or Kogi or even Akoko-Edo. I have done all the possible permutations trust me, but the Yoruba ethnic population just seem to always put them ahead. Yes it is close, but not equal. Ahead as in? Has any South West state ever top Imo State through out? None |

Foreign Affairs › Protests As US Starts To Deploy Anti-missile System In South Korea by Pharaoh9(op): 2:24pm On Apr 27, 2017*. Modified: 2:44pm On Apr 27, 2017 |
The US military has begun to install a controversial missile defence system in South Korea, prompting protests from opponents of the move, which the Seoul government said was aimed at countering the growing nuclear threat from North Korea. The deployment has divided presidential candidates ahead of an election on May 9th, with liberals criticising the move but conservatives saying it is necessary as North Korea looks set to conduct its sixth nuclear test. Early on Tuesday, US troops began installing equipment for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defence (Thaad) battery at a golf course in Seongju, 300km southeast of Seoul, sparking fierce protests from local residents. Seoul and Washington agreed the deployment last year after signs of growing belligerence from North Korea, but an environmental impact assessment was still being carried out and the start of the installation came as a surprise. However, since the decision was reached to install the system, which is supposed to intercept and destroy short and medium-range ballistic missiles, tensions have ratcheted up on the Korean Peninsula, with the North staging missile tests and a live-fire drill and the US deploying a nuclear strike force to the region. South Korea is also in political limbo and it is currently led by an interim government under acting president and prime minister Hwang Kyo-ahn. Former president Park Geun-hye has been impeached and is in jail awaiting trial on charges of corruption and influence peddling. Poll topper Leading the presidential election polls is Moon Jae-in of the liberal Democratic Party, and his campaign criticised the installation, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported. “We express strong regret over the Thaad [installation] taking place in disregard of the people’s will and procedures,” Park Kwang-on, public relations chief of Mr Moon’s election campaign, told a news briefing. Mr Moon has argued the final decision on installing the anti-missile system should be made by the incoming president after the May 9th election https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiNh6Tp28TTAhUBPI8KHfjkBlUQqUMIJzAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.reuters.com%2Farticle%2Fus-southkorea-usa-thaad-idUSKBN17R2VA&usg=AFQjCNEN7bmQapJFvYzWEc--DgkPi0T3qQ https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=2&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiNh6Tp28TTAhUBPI8KHfjkBlUQqUMIKzAB&url=http%3A%2F%2Ftime.com%2F4755310%2Fsouth-korea-protest-thaad-missile%2F&usg=AFQjCNG81Ofne7svm-jqU_B-DnbaqKIcSA https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwiNh6Tp28TTAhUBPI8KHfjkBlUQqUMILzAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.irishtimes.com%2Fnews%2Fworld%2Fasia-pacific%2Fprotests-as-us-starts-to-deploy-anti-missile-system-in-south-korea-1.3062480&usg=AFQjCNGu3PQVoO3x1G1alRyYsu7CF80MEQ mynd44

YelloweWest: First of all. There is a difference between green card and us citizenship. I don't doubt that African Americans are trying to know their roots, my question is how many of them will drop their American citizenship for that of any African country?? Yes our ancestors might have migrated from Igbo land but we are not and will never be biafra! Are you talking of Biafra or Igbo? Google is your friend, do you want all Black Americans to that before you'll accept it?
|

YelloweWest: OK fine my ancestors were supposedly Igbo does that make me igbo especially when it comes to the issue of joining biafra?? HELL NO!
The slaves that left the shores of Africa 100s of year ago, does that make there descendants which are present day African Americans Africans?? Has any group of them or even one of them in present day dropped their American Nationality to pick up that of any African country??
Barack Obamas father was a Kenyan. Does that make Barack Kenyan??
Like I said, drop this history shìt. You can't move forward while looking at the rear mirror. Leave communities that not want to join biafra alone irrespective of their historical back ground. It's for your own good! Learn from the mistakes of the civil war!!! You lack sense, you're trying to say Nigerians who now have US green card are no longer Nigerians just like Whole Soyinka who couldn't drop his US green card after betting to tear it if Trump wins, Most African Americans are now carrying out DNA ancestry test to know their root, some adopt African names... go to YouTube and watch African Americans taking Igbo names in the naming ceremony and are proud, some have adopted other African countries as theirs, very soon that DNA ancestry test will be rampant and everybody will know where they belong There are Igbos in the SE who don't want Biafra and it doesn't change the to another tribe, If you think Obama is not a Kenyan because he is US citizen then I think you have a problem |

Igbos are just one tribe out of over 300 so no how they will will dictate what SS people want or don't want.
The exact same thing that lead to the civil war is what we are seeing again.. Igbos thinking themselves superior to SS people These people never learn

Slonge2: All I see here are a bunch of ignorant revisionists who don't know zilch about history trying to compare America with north Korea, its very funny.
It will take America less than three months to obliterate north Korea, go read up the Korean and Vietnam wars and you will know that without the support of China and russia, north Korea would have been nonexistent. They where beaten to the korea/China border and that was what really got China involved fully in the war. Even the Vietnam war you'll are making reference of, was won by the usa just that due to bad publicity and media attacks, the political will to continue the war was truncated as pressure was being mounted from every corner , and that lead to the collapse of south vietnam Same thing happens to USA, they don't go to war alone |
