When a fridge has internal leakage, is it not possible for technicians to repair the original part causing the leakage?

The technician is proposing to place an external evaporator, costing 28k.

Problem with this is that a neighbour just fixed hers with external evaporator 2months ago and it has just gone bad again.

Anyone with knowledge on this, kindly advise
