my ticket was 175,000 I used South Africa airways, but it's cheap because it's during the week not weekend, I had over a million for my statement and yes I was with cash but from naija to Jo'burg I wasn't asked of BTA neither was it checked and I didn't apply in Lagos again after denial I went to Abuja and I got my visa in 6 working days......I paid cash to the bank for my airline payment as I booked online

just arrived SA, lovely country, full of trees, very very cold and my friends are laughing at me even though they say it's summer, the stories I heard about immigration been harsh to Nigerians were different, my hotel reservation was just looked at and no call, my yellow card was ignored and i spent only 3 minutes with her, maybe it's the airline I went with, smooth flight.....but guys make sure you are confident of the docs you are giving them as what they really deal with is your body language, it's not a do or die to go to SA but it's fun....have fun

can anyone on here who traveled recently help explain how he/she changed their currency,I want to do it before my travel date but the rates are just too ridiculous
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by phemy1230: 6:46pm On Oct 20, 2016
@Stagerlee all the immigration needs is to verify hotel reservations, yellow card, return ticket and maybe BTA right? is that all the docs needed?

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by phemy1230:
Good morning everyone in the forum, I have few questions to ask, and I will be happy if any experts gives me a reply soon.

1) I heard passengers on South African airways are always treated better than other airlines by the south African immigration, I.e they don't scrutinize much on BTA with them?

2) what is the official BTA minimum to take over there?

3) what is the official dollar rate to naira now if anyone has an idea?

Thanks for the response.

its funny how a foreign high commission can hold your international document for 27days (16 working days), I don't think that's legal, my passport is my property and the property of the federal republic of Nigeria, if you deny or approve do so with time limitations, I have come to a conclusion that high commissions and embassy open up offices in Nigeria to earn money and not work, I have been calling the SA embassy and they don't pick up, what serious office doesn't Pick up their customer service line, we have sold ourself so low, if I knew these people will hold my passport this long I will keep it in my home and just have one good Friday with my visa fee, my annual leave starts in few days. I can't plan an holiday or hope for an holiday while on leave, so I am done waiting for them. I will withdraw my application once I am on leave, they can keep the visa fee

TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by phemy1230: 2:37pm On Sep 28, 2016

@phemy1230 I haven't heard anything from 'em also, submitted on the 14th still under assessment. More than 6days they said for me. Though I have an insider working in the embassy gave her a call yesterday she told me there are lot of work on ground : too many applicants
can the insider check on specific applications or can she tell us when we can expect to hear from them?

Your welcome bro, i guess thats for the vfs to decide
I am not sure the south African high commission in Lagos is working, I have submitted my application since the 8th of September and till now my application is still under assessment, has anyone received their passport or visa during this time? they shouldn't hold my passport for three weeks
