Grammy is a big event no doubt and a big achievement for a Nigerian based ariste to win. However it is not an under achievement if a good artiste in Nigeria does not win because clearly it was not designed for artistes outside America. Artistes with successful albums like Craig David even legends like Bob Marley didn't win it. A situation where many artistes from different parts of the world including Africa are grouped under one category of world music, makes it more of a game of luck for that category. compare this with that of MTV for example where there is a particular category for Best African Act. As far as am concerned an artiste, that wins Artiste of the year in KORA and Best African act in MTV same yr has a greater achievement than a Nigerian based artiste that wins a Grammy for that yr For those saying D'banj and co cannot win should have a rethink because lyrics may not be a strong factor considered, because I don't think the organisers of grammy are in the best position to access KSA's lyrics who has been nominated twice now and Mariam Makeba who has actually won it. Above lyrics I think the success of the artiste in the region will be stronger factor. |

Maga don pay. what a lucky guy, I hope the maga(Kennis) truly pay. In terms of beats. It is a good job. However, The song lacks creativity in any form. The song is a total fraud I mean, the concept is from yahooze; The opening is from sauce kid's samboribobo; The verse is a tune from Sean Paul; He also included a line like D'banj's 'If u r still sitting down u r on a long thing' etc. An excellent producer no doubt. His verse in Plantashun boys' Anthem shows he's got skill. He should try and be more original and do something of his own. these are the kind of songs that make some people erronously feel that music is one way of making quick money. |

Yeah this is another facet that exposes the decay in mentality of some Nigerians. It's the same with those that collect 100 naira and even bread to vote for intending political office holders. The Djs that collect gratifification don't realise that they are shooting themselves in the foot because if they force songs on people rather than carefully watching the song and the reaction to it,they are killing the industry where they feed from It's just the area boy syndrome coming to fore. 'I will collect what I can from you because when u make it u'll forget me'. That's the thinking. If only the media houses are paying royalties on played songs then less mediocre songs will be played |

Much as I like the album and D'banj as an asrtiste, I think this is an insult to the listeners, Deliberately saying u don't have to make sense. As if the fans are just some follow follow sheepish zombie. He took it too far. Am not down with that. ![]() |

Kini big deal yes, that's what I wonder about the song. I think it's rather over hyped. Not a whack song though. Nice production. I still don't understand what the song is talking about. wallahitallai sebi we r on fire. Then a movie like video. I still don't get what they are trying to say. He shouldn't give up though |
