This is yet another in the series of heart-warming and great news that have almost been taken for granted in today's Great Abia State (as every day comes with at least one cheering breaking news). This news really made my day!
{I'm proud to be an alumnus of NOUN. But let me warn that NOUN is not for the academically weak. You must be a bookworm to scale through NOUN programs.}
Overall, if you ask me, establishing a NOUN Study Center in Aba is overdue!
Congratulations to Dr Alex Chioma Otti and Abians on yet another of the many milestones that have dotted the length and breadth of the New Abia State.
If there's anything like the serious consequence of deliberate denial of sleep, most guys would really have suffered it or are yet to suffer it, after about two decades.
Imagine being awake from 9 PM till 6 AM, when the log in time will expire - losing 9 hours of sleep for some frivolities, sometimes. Those days!
But these days... Thanks to technological advancement, we have everything in the palms of our hands.
Building quality roads in the desert, whereas there are hundreds of kilometers of dilapidated Federal roads in the densely populated areas of the Southeast begging for attention for decades. It is well.
This threat of support withdrawal and his allies is made with boldness simply because VOTES DO NOT COUNT, HAVE NEVER COUNTED AND WILL NEVER COUNT IN ANY ELECTIONS IN THIS BRITISH CONTRAPTION CALLED NIGERIAN. Take it or leave it.
As I read this post now, it's raining heavily here in Aba, Abia State. This is the second rain in this week. This is absolutely unusual. All my life, I've never witnessed rainfall with flooded streets on 24th of December!
When this man said it was his turn, many NIGERIANS, including the Elites, never knew what exactly he meant.
It's clear now that it's his turn to put another nail in the coffin of the poverty-stricken and economically decimated masses of this British Contraption!
Am I the only one that thinks that this Femi's comment is treasonable? For a supposed leader or public personality to make such unconscionable statement is, to say the very least, very reprehensible! Each passing day in this country brings up clear evidence of stark leadership failure.
Dear OP, Would you like to reveal in all honesty, how much you're paid to script this. I guess you must be a Nigerian, but most probably not living within the shores of Nigeria. Otherwise, whatever you were paid, truth remains immortal. And that's what Mr Peter Obi just said. Someone whose house is on fire, does not chase rats. No amount of pretence would make Nigeria a better place. It is hard and conscientious work by those in leadership positions that will make Nigeria work for all. If you like, call Interpol to go after Peter Obi, truth must be told. Leaders lead to impact the lives, the well-being of the greatest number of persons. That's simple Utilitarianism. That you're part of those at the table doesn't mean everyone is there. Even if you're not there, whatever has become of HUMAN CONSCIENCE beats my imagination, and is yet to be determined. Stop instigating violence and hanging it on Peter Obi. Be human!

Several issues.
Reading Peter Obi's diatribe, it reads like he drew inspiration from the December 31st, 1983 coup speech of then Brigadier Sani Abacha:
To Peter Obi:
1. Is it true that our schools and hospitals are not functioning?
2. Is it true that Nigeria is not a functioning nation?
3. Peter Obi is no longer playing opposition, but engaged in acts of deliberate misinformation, mischief, gaslighting and intentionally deceiving the public. Tinubu visited Katsina for a security assessment where he addressed troops, commissioned a 24-km road, inaugurated an agricultural mechanization farm center and attended the wedding fatiha of the governor’s daughter. But Peter Obi deliberately left out other aspects of the president's visit and said he went to Katsina only for a social event.
4. Peter Obi's angst against the visit to Saint Lucia demonstrates he lacks an understanding of international trade and building relationships with nations. It would be a complete waste of time talking over his head because his biases prevent him from opening himself to knowledge. Here was a man who did not know what climate change entailed.
5. There are precedents. Peter Obi had lied that President Tinubu was implementing a budget that was not passed by the national assembly. He toed the line of Senator Abdul Ningi who had lied earlier that the 2024 budget Tinubu was running was not passed by the national assembly. Only recently, Peter Obi lied that Lagos State Government demolished property belonging to his brother's company. Only for us to find out that the company referred to was Next International, owned by Peter Obi.
What is the end game?
Peter Obi is convinced that Tinubu is occupying the position that belongs to him. His followers refer to President Tinubu as "illegal president". Peter Obi always talks about China, Indonesia, Malaysia and strange places. Let any of his followers enter those places and call their leaders illegal and see what would happen.
Attention DSS
DSS, you are dropping the ball. When three school girls were murdered in a since class in the UK, a lie was promoted that the girls were murdered by an asylum seeker that arrived on a small boat. Turned out the girls were murdered by someone born and raised in the UK. The truth only came out after riots, arson, destruction, and looting of public property by so-called far right extremists. We may have such far-right extremists among the Obidients who brook no opposition, threaten what doesn't align with their warped opinions, and wish death upon the children of those opposed to them. Remember how these extremists burned down Tinubu's TVC and the Nation and were heading to Oriental Hotel until they were told it didn't belong to Tinubu.
Peter Obi is attempting to rile up the right-wing extremists to take to the streets. Be cautious of the language he uses:
"There is no goverment."
"This is not a functioning country."
"Our country has become lawless."
If you are not aware, they are sowing seeds of anarchy in the minds of the extremists. They need an excuse to start fighting.
Contain Peter Obi. He is causing hatred and divisiveness in the political space. Perhaps he is bitter or depressed. Either way, he needs to be cautioned to play opposition responsibly.

mysticwarrior: The Germans slaughtered 6 million Jews and 27 million Soviets during WW2 yet they are still thriving. The US slaughtered millions of native Americans, and obliterated hundreds of thousand innocent Japanese citizens when they dropped the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs and yet they flourish in all areas. The French and Belgians massacred In Congo and other African countries. The Japanese committed genocide in China, Turkey slaughtered thousands of Albanians. All these countries are doing very well.
You're completely wrong! These nations slaughtered the citizens of other countries in a war situation. They did not kill, kidnap and maim THEIR OWN CITIZENS in zero war situation. The leaders of this country Nigeria oversee the daily shedding of the blood of her own citizens, by both state and non-state actors.
IT WILL NEVER NEVER PROSPER, until the blood of innocent people that have flooded this land for decades are completely atoned for, and the gods of the land appeased.
PricelessGem1: I will rather vote Tinubu than Elrufai. Tinubu will show him that he is the C-in-C. The truth is that in Nigeria today, whoever controls INEC, police and Judiciary is the winner of Nigeria's presidential election. Jonathan being a weakling did not understand, till it was too late. Gone are the days when people's vote counts, even the masses knows that.
You see my point, winning elections in Nigeria is not by vote, but by the power to control the INEC, police and the judiciary.
However, GEJ wasn't a weakling. While powerful politicians can control the INEC police and the judiciary, an external neocolonial power controls Nigeria. Simple.
My question still remains: do votes count in this country? These titans may test their political muscles, by any means, but nobody should talk about who will be voted by the people. Politicians don't win with the votes of the electorates. VOTES DON'T COUNT IN THIS COUNTRY HOOOHAAAA!!!
I think the MAJOR reason the bill was rejected is to avoid the possibility of producing a president of SE extraction. THE FEAR OF THE IGBO NATION IS COMPOUNDING THE PROBLEMS OF THIS COUNTRY.
I look beyond that claim to see something else. Mark my words: with the way things are going in this country, very soon, you will certainly buy those at 5k from even the farmers in the core North.
What else do you expect, when our leaders have abandoned governance and are consumed in the game of power grabbing/sharing and retention.
It's ONLY in Nigeria that winning elections means winning a rigging contest between and among political gladiators who have zero interest in the welfare of the masses. That's why all this NOISE in Nairaland annoys me so much!
Know this and know peace: VOTES DON'T COUNT IN ANY ELECTION CONDUCTED IN THIS COUNTRY!!! If you want to talk about getting political positions in this country, please and please, don't use the word ELECTION.
"Sad thing is the current state of Nigeria has nothing to do with these figures. They are all just puppet figure heads. The people who control the country and influence almost everything are unknown." It is NOT POSSIBLE for Nigeria to be better again unless and until we become COMPLETELY independent from the Colonial Masters. The past leaders are merely serving the interests of those who influence almost everything in this country.
Have we asked ourselves the real reason Shagari was overthrown, and who sponsored the coup? Who was actually against GEJ's reelection? What real offense did Gaddafi commit? There's more than meets the eye in the ouster of these emerging African figures. Some big plans they had which were meant to end neocolonialism were nipped in the bud.
That is why I support some Francophone African countries that wish to extricate themselves from the yoke of colonial slavery, and paddle their own canoe. Nigeria can still be free and truly independent!
Racoon: Terrible facilities in ABSU. This is a shame and disgrace to the governing council and state govt. Alex Ottu. This is not portraying you in good light.
People like you are really terrible! You're blaming the less than 2-year tenured Alex Otti for the mess in the hostel, but you people in PDP oversaw such an eye sore for 24 years and did NOTHING, and you never portrayed them in bad light Watch out in the next few months, what Alex Chioma Otti will do in terms of ABSU hostels.
It is only in this country that the people do not have power to elect those who govern them. The incumbent simply picks his successor and, whether the people like it or not, as long as he/she is picked by the predecessor, the people have no choice. What a country!
If godfatherism doesn't destroy this country, nothing will.
I think you seem to lack the courage to endure unpleasant situations and negative comments. That some of the WhatsApp members made those uncomplimentary remarks doesn't rule out the possibility of your learning a few things from other sane members of the group, which might change your life. There's sense in every nonsense. It's possible to pick a piece of gold from a pack of garbage.
Absolutely annoying post! If the OP knows how bad the Nigerian economy is biting hard on the average Nigerian, and how the cost of living is sending many to their early graves in this country, s/he won't engage in this comparison. This is a typical example of HATE SPEECH!
Just swear to whatever not to see the progress of your own country, lobatan.
How can some people do just because their principal loss in a contested election, the person wey come third oo and ever since they never wish the best for the country.
It's time for FG to consider banning any association with the name of Obidients.
We can't continue to be shying away about their bitterness, hatred and their evil wishes towards the progress and development of Nigeria
Your likes are the major problem of this country. You think you're perfect and cannot be criticised? Or no one can ever have a contrary opinion to yours? Every criticism of the ruling party will now be tied to a loss of the charade you called election?
WhiteWood: The Nigerian school teachers/private School teachers are not going through anything -- I love that our younger generation are beginning to stand up for themselves. Those who should be teaching us good manners by setting an example and through diplomacy have oppressed Nigerian children for too long/many years, undermining their confidence. This is the primary reason why Nigerian youths today are unaware of their rights and, consequently, idolize their oppressors.
Hats off to our younger generation -- they are educating themselves about their rights via the internet. In a rational society, that teacher should be suspended for directly confronting the child instead of reporting the matter to the school's disciplinary authority. The teacher is not the child's parent.
Many of you advocating for this boy's punishment are the same individuals who spend their entire day on the internet lamenting about our government and our failed nation. However, you seem to forget that only children who are nurtured with love and set a positive example grow up with the confidence to effect change. These children do not grow up worshipping individuals simply because some FOOLS believe it is their right for the younger generation to worship them.
One of the consequences of this price hike is the possibility of what I recently heard as a rumour. That people can get the IELTS results, without physically taking the Test. This hasn't been confirmed though.
But imagine paying such amount of money, only for one not to get the desired band score.
However, this can be avoided if one enrolls in an IELTS Tutorials that guarantees success. We who have aced the Test can be a good guide.

PoliteActivist: *Politeness* I modified my post. See above. It is not economic jargon, it is common sense. If my money can buy more in your house, I'd like your house and buy stuff from your house... until I realize I'm giving you all my money!
What does Nigeria have that they'll sell to other countries? That's why one of the Presidential Aspirants was prioritizing "production" over "consumption", and we ignored him because of where he's coming from.
Fugazy2023: This fools are doing too much. PBAT is too cool for my liking. Arrest those bastards, charge them to court and lock them forever. Nothing will happen. Na noise SM headless mobs go make and soon everybody go calm down
Why not go and do it yourself, or you can call your PBAT on phone and instruct him! You think those who voted your PBAT will have a different country? You've not seen anything yet.
Rebuker: "You must have up to 5 million Naira and above in your account before you can date me," the fine lady says.
In the short video, the beautiful lady says, "For those of you who want to date me, please drop your CV, let me see what you can do. How can you be poor and say you want to date a fine girl? See, I am a fine girl; I don't use filters. How could you be broke and want to date me? You must have at least 4-5 million Naira in your account balance." She goes on to ask, "Girls that date poor guys, how do you people do it?"
You're only saying you're a huge liability to any man. Your condition/demands betrayed the fact that you're not a productive lady, but only a consumer and therefore cannot make a good wife.
