PoliticsRe: Ekweremadu: IPOB Gives Conditions To Forgive Igbo Politicians by philos(m): 5:45pm On Aug 22, 2019
orisa37:
IPOB should stop silly arguement, cooperate with their Leaders to move forward. They should stop being seen as cooperating with Bokoharam, Elsarksarky and Fulani Hooligans and Herdsmen.
You're uninformed, and therefore, you're deformed in your thinking. You must not comment here.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians To Pay More For Electricity Consumption by philos(m): 11:54am On Aug 22, 2019
Naijafull19:
Inasmuch as people would shout 'We are poor'...here are some hard facts

1.We need to generate power above 40000MW

2.We also need to fix transmission systems

3.All these will cost trillions of naira.

4.And the way forward is by allowing DISCOS to set the price they want to set (yes, government should stop setting prcies).

Back in 2001...GSM came to Nigeria, with outrageous prices. We all complained. And the service was initailly poor. But thanks to the freedom affroded them to do their business they could raise funds to build from scratch the telephone and internet service we have today. All those GSM infrastructure you see is the result of allowing GSM companies freedom to set their prices.

If we keep on shortchanging the power sector....we will never see 24/7 light. Power companies cannot attract investment. They cannot even take loans from banks because the banks know they won't see their money....because the DISCOS aren't making enough profit to fund their operations, talkess of paying back a loan.

You are free to insult me, call me insensitive. But if I was in power and I forced you as a rice salesman or woman to sell rice at N7000 below the price you bought it....because of the masses...won't you go broke in a few years? Won't you sack your workers in a few years??

Let's stop acting like Communists. We don't have enough cash to run a Communist economy. If you want a communist economy, form a Marxist-Lenninist party, and implement your own state controlled prices...but the sad thing is that capitalism works. It hurts people, but it also benefits more people. Let's run power like a capitalist enterprise.
We have more than enough money to run a Communist economy in this country.
Do you know how much money, running into trillions, that are looted in this country? It is enough to make every citizen have every social amenity, and live comfortably. These are facilities that are already taken for granted, even in some West African countries. But here, they are considered luxurious, scarce commodities, that are supposed to be rationed among citizens.
This country is still extremely far from the much desired light at the end of the tunnel. Take it, or leave it.

"Any serious government should be able to fix the country's power problem in 6 months."
--Fashola: Nov. 12, 2014.

Waiting for the comments from Saleh Mamman.

Any serious government should know that power sector is the key that unlocks all other sectors of the society.
PoliticsRe: South-East Governors To Nnamdi Kanu 'Attack Us And Be Deported Back To Nigeria' by philos(m): 1:40pm On Aug 21, 2019
Wisdom has left the so called elders in the shameless Southeast governors. It's so shameful for the governors to give this public impression that they're fighting with their own people. Despite the decay these so called governors oversee in the region, they play the ostrich.

They think their greatest achievement will be the deportation and trial of NNAMDI Kanu. Shame on them! These shameless governors know they are the greatest problems the Igboland has.

Let them try and make good their threat, and face the dire consequences. The youth are sad, and instead of doing the needful to assuage the anger, they want to add salt to injury.

PoliticsRe: IPOB: Nnamdi Kanu Places N1m Bounty On All Igbo Governors by philos(m): 10:55pm On Aug 18, 2019
MobilityExpress:
Jokes apart, this is a dangerous precedent, because you are setting an example for the real terrorists in Nigeria. People don't realize that evil elements are watching events unfold and learning new tactics. Southsouth militants started this kidnapping thing, but today killer fulani herdsmen have taken over the trade in an unprecedented dimension, kidnapping anyone, poor, rich, old, young, male, female, civilians, government workers etc. I read on Nairaland last week of a pastor in Kaduna that was kidnapped inside his home, the kidnappers went to his home, can you see how this evil thing has grown? If only the Niger Delta militants knew fulani herdsmen were taking lessons from them, and now the student has become the master. Same way this IPOB attack politicians on foreign soil, they should stop this behavior now before people like Boko Haram starts getting ideas from it. It will be terrible if people like Boko Haram latch on this idea and start their terror campaign overseas because they might make it into something else and not just attack politicians alone, they might attack prominent citizens too, or Christians. So IPOB should stop this rubbish now. They should not start a fire they cannot control.
You should shut up!

PoliticsRe: Nigerians Blast Joe Igbeokwe For Saying Buhari Is Doing Well by philos(m): 11:08am On Aug 13, 2019
I don't know if I'm the only one that sees Joe Igbokwe's talks as watery, baseless and senseless, especially when he defends the glaringly indefensible ineptitude of the powers that be.
That man is too myopic, base and mediocre, not only to be called an Igbo man, but also have an Igbo name.
PoliticsRe: FFK Reacts To Sowore’s Arrest: "He's Not My Friend, He Defamed Me, But..." by philos(m): 10:38am On Aug 06, 2019
From the many comments above, I suspect I'm the only one that entirely read the thought provoking piece from FFK.

Or, may be those commenters were paid to make such comments about the shocking revelations in the write up. Nairalanders should learn to read, please.

Nigeria is sliding into anarchy, and people are here making mockery of a write up that should make us think and pray for this country.
It's a pity!

grin

Please, the police should charge them for treason and ensure they spend every single day of their lives in Kirikiri

I want to ask the protesters a question

Was Nigeria safe before the elections in February?
Was there stable power before February?
Was there jobs before February?
Was there any sector that was okay before February?

If I may ask again, who did the protesters vote for in February? It must be either Buhari or Atiku

Even Sowore did not file any petition to challenge Buhari's victory

And then you all wake up one morning to protest about what sef

Let's allow Buhari to rule in peace Abeg.... 2023 is closeby ..
Those attacking these thought provoking questions don't get it at all.
The protesters knew their BUHARI is this bad, and not only voted for him, but were the architects of the senseless propaganda that ousted Goodluck Jonathan, to bring the bigot to power.
The evil that men do should live with them.
He who brings ant infested firewood, should be ready to host and harbour lizards!

This is a sure sign of a failed nation. Someone, a Senator at that, committed a heinous crime, he rewarded with an award..He was therefore, emboldened to say that he trended on social media, and that the young ones should follow his foot steps.
What a shame!!!
PoliticsRe: Break-up Not Solution To Nigeria’s Problems — Osinbajo by philos(m): 11:58am On Jul 31, 2019
In Christian Theology, the sin against the Holy Spirit (which the Bible says cannot be forgiven) means the deliberate bare faced denial of a well known truth, even in the full glare of overwhelming evidence.
This 'ex pastor' of a VP has committed a 'Sin against the Holy Spirit'! He can never be forgiven neither in this life nor in the life to come.
He knows the truth, but because of his status as a FULANI life slave, he denies that the solution to the Nigerian question is break up.
PoliticsRe: Lawan Suggests Amendment Of Land Use Act, See What He Said by philos(m): 11:08am On Jul 24, 2019
Mr. Senate President, the RUGA Agenda is already dead on arrival.
Your dull brain cannot match our collective smartness. If your amendment to the Land Use Act has any value, it should be to vest ownership of lands in private individuals.
Enough of this "RUGA From the Back Door". IT HAS FAILED. Any means you want to bring it back, we the Southerners are ready to match force with force!

PoliticsRe: Ahmad Lawan: 10 Things You Didn’t Know About New Senate President by philos(m): 4:50pm On Jun 11, 2019
mrsiso:
IBO's should have seen this coming, pitching tent with PDP gave them out, the only opportunity is for the president to make major political appointments from the East. When you pitch tent with a party, the party nominate you and rally supports for you.
So you mean every Nigerian voter must vote ONLY one person in a democratic multi-party election? Anyway, that could be the Nigerian democracy, but in saner climes, people are free to vote any candidate of their choice, without facing the consequences of parking out of the country because their preferred candidate lost in an election.
When will Nigeria graduate from this type of political mentality?

I wonder the rationale behind this great IRONY coming from the supposedly learned gentlemen.
This is prejudice of the highest magnitude! So if a person is wrongly accused of the said offenses, he'd be denied of legal representation?
Wisdom seems to be eluding the wise.
CelebritiesRe: Africa Is Better Than America - Akon by philos(m): 6:45pm On Apr 21, 2019
Though they say there's no place like home. This has become quite subjective. For me, anywhere you find yourself, doing honest work to earn a living, with guaranteed safety, and available and accessible social amenities, is your home. I cannot call a place a better place, let alone a home, if my comfort, peace and safety are scarce commodities.

Even government not provide a guidelines that will guide the policy of Chinese in Nigeria. Go to Chinese companies and see the level of indiscipline ,Chinese will bullying Nigerians over sex or she send back home, many cases like that.

Anyway, we've seen that you are someone's advocate. No wonder.

CrimeRe: Anambra Man Commits Suicide By Hanging Himself On A Tree With Rope(photos) by philos(m): 6:10pm On Apr 03, 2019
I think this man was killed and hung on that tree.
One, the tongue ought to have stuck out from his mouth, to indicate a natural struggle that attends suicide.
Two, the stool should have been kicked out of it's position to enable the man hang freely mid air.
Some things don't add up here. There's need for thorough investigation.
