Like I wrote earlier, Awo has no place in pan Nigeria political history. He would've been president but he confided himself in the west, the only place he had political clout.

The OP asked why the Igbos didn't vote him. Did the Hausa, Fulani, Ijaw, Ikwerre, Igala, Tiv, etc vote him? The answer is no. He had no national appeal. He was a project for western Nigeria only; reason he lost the election. Besides, in an unbiased review of Nigerian political history, there's nothing spectacular about Awo. Truth be told.

There is something "spectacular" about him,....he's the only one that took his life for the same reason as the OP will soon.
