Bro, if half of the population isn't gone by the end of this season, they should keep the 4th season.

It falls just below the hype imo
!....

You could almost feel, it is supposed to be something more, it should be something more but it couldn't just hit. You could clearly see the Safdie brothers trying to infuse their "spontaneous" fast paced style, which worked so well with "Good Time (2017)" and "Uncut Gems" (2019), worked well in those because they had proper carthasis, but by the end of this, i was left wondering, what was even the point? or the hype had me blindly thinking, this was gonna be an all timer, where in reality it was just as generic as they come.

Timothée Chalamet performance was good tho but it isn't just enough to sit through this again, for another 2hr 30mins, knowing there is little or no reward at the end.
I see you have chosen death as well

Honestly you've said it all, there's nothing else to add

Movie is well made, but absolutely not for me.
I was torn between liking or hating the main character, didn't know whether to be inspired or not. I wouldn't have lasted the entire 2:23hrs of this if I wasn't hoping for an epic ending, but I was disappointed at the end, seeing that the climax was just generic.
Not a bad movie at all, but it's the kind of movie that I could avoid, and not miss a thing, but couldn't ignore the hype. This is 7/10 for me

I know you're an intelligent person.

Do you really think most gay people choose their orientation?

Think deeply without bias or religion or spirituality?

Do you really think they like the antipathy and potential violence that might be impos4d on them?
Everyone has a choice, nature never made anyone gay or lesbian, they chose it themselves

As at Dec 2025 them don dey insult anybody wey counter their title hopes.

You can't win the EPL in February, Liverpool loose na arsenal dey cry grin

...city boys, apply more pressure! 💅 We want to check something tongue
"Arsenal fans" and "calmness" should never be found in the same sentence. There's no fan base as loud as Arsenal's

The 6th place can only come from the Europa league. If an English team wins the Europa League

I see..... Let's wait and see then.
In my opinion, I see it as a smash hit. Too many stars aligned for it that I'm seeing.
The only star I see aligning for this movie is the presence of Jacob Elordi. That guy will pull 80% of its audience
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by phr0nesis(m):
abduleez1:
Why do you feel it will flop tho?
Is it the story, the directing or the hype? Or audience not interested?
* Its genre (romance) has had the worst box office performance in recent times.
* Its already proving to be divisive due to its miscasting. The division might work for it, or make it fall hard; I lean towards the latter option.
* The director (Emerald Fennell) might be a critical darling, but she has never made a box office hit.

I didn't include "the story" because that option is simply personal. I don't like the premise at all, but many people read the book and loved it, therefore my hatred for the story is completely invalid.

Lol, you believe this movie will flop? This valentine's??

It's like you're missing the box office trends recently with how female flicks been getting rushed in cinemas by that demographic.

If this thing isn't making money, least I see is around a $350mn and that would still be profitable for it.
Make we dey see sha.

Predator --- Badlands is a solid 7/10 for me.
I watched the movie because of Elle Fanning, she has become one of my likable actress in Hollywood and as usual the movie didn't disappoint and she sold her role perfectly.
Nice movie concept, though the predator language annoyed me in the beginning but the movie later grew on me as events unfolded.

Great fighting scenes, great CGI.
They can go for a part two if they choose to, it has a complex storyline.
One of my worst 2025 movie. I'll rate this 4/10

Funny thing be say na this same Memnon na him make Achilles die sef, because the gods and him mama warn am against killing Memnon.
Achilles the greatest warrior of their time, and no single mention of person wey partly cause him demise. 😭

That's why people no too rate that Troy (2004) film with Brad Pitt because it totally deleted the role the Greek gods played in that 10yrs war. The gods were also fighting a civil war between themselves and manoeuvring their worshippers and believers into a proxy war.
I tell you. The more I de read about the Memnon guy, the more I de vex for Troy (2004). His duel with Achilles would have been more epic than the one with Hector. And they didn't say anything about the large army he brought to the war.

Yep.... The problem with filmmakers telling the stories with the parts they like about the Illiad/Trojan War.

Even me have quite forgotten about it until samistry made the complaint then I remembered the roles of Africans in the story. Back then Egyptians and Ethiopians usually feature in those stories. Ethiopia especially.

Surprisingly I hear Memnon was the only guy to draw blood from Achilles. So how these guys removed this part dey somehow.

The Memnon sef has a Greek goddess as his mother— Eos. And is related to the King of Troy.

I don't think the world of then really looked or put much thought about race back then. They only used skin colour to clarify looks and cultures. Na modern day people dey put emphasis on race and how hard they try to sell this narrative that Africa, especially Black Africans never contributed much to early history.

One of the biggest disservice older Africans did to themselves was never using written texts to pass information and relied mostly on oral history.

Na only ancient Egypt just be our saving grace, if not ehn......
Aptly put.
I have nothing more to add

Maybe he's playing Memnon. The King of Ethiopia who battled Achilles and is said to be of almost equal strength to Achilles in the Trojan War.
If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have known anything about Memnon. Two movies about the Trojan war, and none of them cared to mention his name
