There are different grades of ACL and every human body reacts differently to it. You can't use your mild case to judge others. On average it's an immobilizing injury for most.

You are right about individuals having different levels of ACL, but I don't think it can cripple a person, no matter the severity

I have an ACL, and the only thing I can't do is running at maximum speed. I jug, I jump (but make sure I land on the good leg), regular dancing is not a problem (Omah Lay doesn't do stunts).

An ACL is sometimes a career ending injury for athletes, but it shouldn't stop a singer from singing.

Yeah, I know, cos HBO themselves demanded it was that way before they agreed to greenlight season 1.

I just expect more space stuff in the long run. Especially since HBO would be running out of visual spectacle or high budget projects with HOTD soon to wrap up.

Season 1 has a lot of viewership, it should have generated enough money for a high budget season 2.

It's a well grounded show with lots of promise.
My only major problem with the show is its somewhat slander of Hal Jordan. I was thinking some Green Lantern fans were a little dramatic in holding a grudge for how Hal was portrayed, but they weren't really wrong. I didn't mind Hal being an annoying piece of sh!te. He had that persona but in a fun way in the animated shows... but not this complex dude everyone seriously hates.

There's many little things to nitpick at especially if you're familiar with the story or characters. I didn't like how Sinestro looked weak, but well, he's been defeated. The show also didn't fully od wholesomely give me the feeling of how powerful the ring was. Its was very much implied and stated how powerful and dangerous it was but I didn't get the feel of it.
Then there's John Stewart's origins or family background. His parents and his upbringing. Anyways, it was majorly brilliant at the end even tho the twist wasn't what I was expecting. Brought the whole story to a decent close.

All in all, the show is a pretty good one if you can move past the individual characters backstories.
Hopefully, since it was wildly successful for HBO (top 3 premiere ever) the S2 will have a much expanded look and veer fully into comic genre and give us the space visual spectacle it deserves.

HBO shackles was too much on this show and it shows. But thanks to that HBO strict doctrine, LANTERNS has washed off that stale taste you get in the mouth when you mention Green Lantern. Definitely the reason why the Green was removed from its title.
Consequently leading to a bigger budget in the range of TLOU or HOTD.

Everyone has seen the potential.

True Detective has been on my watchlist for years, so this show might just force me to click on it earlier than I anticipated.

Season 2 will still remain grounded, there'll be no space spectacle

Yeah, I saw it around 5:00am this morning.

I've watched Soderbergh films and he's a good director and his characters has these dark themes beneath their stories.
He volunteered to Matt Reeves to help him complete his vision.

How their narrative style translates to the full movie is what I don't know.
They've gone far ahead probably half way the principal photography of the film, so I don't know.

But based on the report it was said Reeves would complete the film's editing himself for post production. I just pray that plan doesn't change again. .I no know which personal issues Reeves dey face currently, but our prayers are with him.

Okay, let's see how it goes.

A really good plot is a major reason why I'll rewatch any movie, of which "Brand New Day" never had. My rating is simply for the other things they got right. A second viewing is out of the question for me as well

Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026)

Not so brand new day.

There’s been a school of thought lately that you have to forgo a logical, well-written plot to enjoy movies these days. But I dare say, if I have to forgo the plot, is it really a movie anymore?

The plot here is so narratively weak, and I think that’s where my entire problem with the film stems from. It’s no secret that a superhero movie is only as good as its villain. The charisma and twisted ideologies of a great villain are what people remember years later. Think Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, and you instantly think Thanos. Think The Dark Knight, and you think the Joker.

Making a young Jean Grey the villain here simply didn’t work for me. I couldn’t take her seriously, and it feels like it negates much of what the franchise has been building toward.

The film stretches to almost two and a half hours, but it could easily have been 45 minutes. There are surprisingly few scenes that actually matter, with the rest padded out by unnecessary characters and recycled MCU ideas in a desperate attempt to tie everything into Avengers: Doomsday (2026) because apparently that movie needs every bit of buildup it can get.

Seriously, why were Yelena, the Punisher, or even the Hulk in this? I’m going out on a limb and saying Avengers: Doomsday might end up feeling the same way, because it’s being built on a pretty shaky foundation. Thin plot, bloated runtime and nostalgia bait. I’ll still watch it as part of my dirty December plans, but man, my expectations are on the floor.

Technically, though, I can see why this movie made so much money. The production value is ridiculously high, as expected from this franchise. The cinematography is great, the colours pop, and the Spidey suit is insanely good. The VFX, web-slinging and those sweeping shots of Spider-Man swinging through a spiralling New York are gorgeous. I can totally see how this will read beautifully on a cinema screen and, honestly, it’s a pretty good distraction from how weak the plot is.

Personally, I think this franchise has been worn thin. Tom Holland has taken it as far as he can. It needs some kind of refresh, but with the amount of money it brings in, I doubt Sony will ever let it go.

Almost a nothing film with very little replay value. Just glad to be done with it.

Creature commandos, Peace maker s2 and lanterns season finales were all letdowns after starting with so much promise.
That's a disappointing hattrick.
At least the other two weren't afraid to be comic book works. Lanterns turned the whole GL lore on its head.

You no get response dey paste Snyder,person wey flop after flop with army of dead, rebel moon and latest work.
I argued back and forth with Smaug last year when he said MARVEL ZOMBIES was better than superman.
It's not binary, both Snyder and Gunn have sh*t the bed.

I also had a brief argument with Smaug before Superman dropped, but I have been silent ever since.

He's done well so far to me.

Only blip so far has been Supergirl. Something tells me Clayface might come pretty good.
Lanterns has been premium. Peacemaker S2 was judged good by critics and audience. Creature Commandos was pretty good too.

Only thing missing, is movies for the heavy hitters such as Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Martian Manhunter. And the slow pace of work on greenlit projects.
And we've obviously seen a re-strategising of the overall plan by James Gunn.

We're just waiting to get the full details of the slate rework. And this final completion of the merger will give full clarity in the coming months.

None has impressed me.
• I didn't watch Creature Commandos.

• I didn't even finish season 1 of Peacemaker.

• Lanterns is a good show, but Hal Jordan was done dirty. It spoilt the whole thing for me.

• I'm positively anticipating Clayface. I think it will be good

Right from the first episode he wasnt potrayed like Hal at all. I complained and got tired.

His portrayal was manageable in the first 2 episodes, but 4, 5, 6 was unbearable.

Dropping on the 6th of October, while Nolan is still keeping "The Odyssey" till November 17th.
