I always run on very few apps max 4 at a time and always clear the ram (804 mb) . But it wont stop the hanging. Will rooting it or upgrading to 4.2.2 stop it?

addictiv: Guys I experience hanging and delay in opening my messages and dialing page esp after playing games like enemy strike which also takes sometime to open. What can I do to stop this? My ram is 800 mb as against 1 gig advertised. Checked my friends phantom and discovered that it is faster even with just scrolling through the home pages.
I am currently running on 4.1.2 and when I tried upgrading to 4.2.2 it showed " no upgrades available"

abiolag: I was having 430mb when I just installed d rom but when I started putting lots of apps it started decreasing and am loving it still
