UIC- Rejected. This particular decision was infuriating as I submitted my application before the priority deadline.The office of graduate admissions asked for official transcripts to be mailed to them around the end of December after reviewing my application containing the unofficial transcripts. I did not know that this meant my application was on hold and therefore was not reviewed by the department till February,as my transcripts were delayed due to strike actions in my university.

Congrats Pierre92, As you can see, you did not need to retake the GRE to secure full funding. Washington State is a good school. A lot of Uni of Washington rejects which are also MIT, Stanford etc rejects go there...lol.

As a Harvard reject , I concur. Lol. Harvard waited till March to send a nicely worded rejection letter. Now comes the eternal debate whether I am ready to spend 5 years pursuing a degree as against going for a masters.

As for me I have given up.I guess its until next season.
I have two rejects from Baylor and Brown Universities.
The rest are in Limbo as per admissions.I gathered they have offered the first rounds of admissions.

Don’t give up yet,a friend of mine has 4 admissions and is yet to decide. There are many more like him,go on gradcafe and they are in their hundreds. Once they start declining in April,spaces will open up.

Why not try PhD in pharmacy or pharmacology? It can open lots of doors for you in the US. The ones you listed are fine also sha.

Looked in the direction but decided against that because;
1.Most deadlines have passed for PhD admissions
2. I am not excited by the current state of pharmacological research. I will still put in some applications as backup though.

Not yet. Took my TOEFL last week Saturday.Received my score yesterday (Thought it was a 10 days after thing).Full steam ahead now.Seems Florida is the place to go for funded biotechnology masters.Boston and Cali schools are surprisingly not funded

Took the GRE on 4th January. I couldn't afford to quit my job so I had to manage.I work everday and weekends(Saturday and Sunday). So it was really tasking to prepare and write the GRE. My prep was done in snatches;in Lagos yellow buses,during lunch breaks,in between work lulls etc. Took 1st to 3rd January off to cram in as much work as possible.All of my work was Quant focused.
Test day was ok. The 3+ hours didn't affect me since all my exams in the university lasted for at least 3 hours. After this long story,my scores were:
Q- 157
V- 158
GPA- 4.67/5 (Pharmacy)
Prospective course of study- Biotechnology,Genetic engineering-Still haven't decided yet.
I am a bit disappointed with the verbal score because I scored as high as 164 in my Powerprep test (Didn't prep for verbal though since English has always been my forte)but slightly elated with the Q score as my cold diagnostic was a mere 144.I'm thinking of taking two weeks off and rewriting since I know I can easily smash the 325 mark with focused prep. To all prospective test writers, u can do it!

Good morning. Is a score of 320 + achievable in 30 days, considering I have a baseline score of 308 (Q-152,V- 156)? P.s- I had skimmed through the Manhattan quant strategy guide for like a month before the test. No prior prep for Verbal. Targeting at least 160 in Quant(lol).
