I will appreciate a good criticism of Mourinho when I see one. I see a few here and there, but a vast majority of what I see here are just knee jerk reactions to city's performances and we really should be better than that. |
Oasis007:this isn't the case of 1 and 0. That one isn't coming here to shed tears and lament whenever pep performs doesn't mean that the person is celebrating being 2nd. Pep and Mourinho are very different kinds of managers. If you use Pep's style as your benchmark for your validation of Mourinho, then you will end up complaining till his time at this club is over. That Mourinho's style isn't yielding results that measure up to what pep is doing at the moment, doesn't make the style appalling or even inferior There are a lot of other factors to consider, for anyone capable of looking beyond the surface. |
Wether you like it or not, the team is still a work in process. It is just a shame that guardiola got his formula and personnel working before Mourinho did. Mourinho stopped guardiola with a better Barcelona side that had messi, and chased him out of Spain. I see no reason to not believe that when he gets it right, he won't topple him again, even if it's not this season. Some of our fans really need to chill and stop acting disgraceful every time city put up a good performance. It is the reason why some people will never stop wondering if you are true fans or not |
If you keep looking to City for before you make any observations about this united side, then you are very likely going to remain miserable throughout the season. We are playing some of our best football post Fergie and if city's run and won't allow you appreciate that, then it's rather unfortunate. I read pochetinos interview yesterday and my manager said that kind of rubbish after a 4 1 drubbing, if I no fit summon my bini people to use thunder fire am, I go decamp. The idiot was said a lot a of trash and capped it up with 'at least they tried to play' Does he think Spurs are Swansea? |
This Dayo of a man na real tortoise. See how he dey stylishly ignore parts of replies to him and dey focus on other things. The kind of thing that makes on in the middle of an argument sigh and go 'fúck this shit I'm out'.. |
So because I slapped my wife a few times when I was 27 years old means I can't speak against domestic violence several years later? Even when I have been educated about the ills of it and turned a new leaf, for the past several years? Some people on this board think with their anus |
ybalogs:lol |
This thread has become an eyesore. I no even know where to start |
elampiro:we dey your back |
Abeg make Person drop shuku shaker, Aya shoemaker... Bless |
Lana1:football don suffer sha |
Stats in the hands of elampiro na real wahala |
If it's any consolation the gulf between city's regulars and not so regulars is just as big as ours if not bigger. On the long run, it may bode well for us if they become unfortunate with bad injuries |
All of Una no know ball |
This elampiro sef. Smh |
CapitalCee:lol. E Don do |
elrony:he had a small incident towards the end of the game when all the subs were used and played like someone nursing an injury for the reminder of the match |
Looks like Luke Shaw got himself injured yet again |
3 4 1 2 gives us a much better balance. Allowing martial and or Rashford to play centrally along with Lukaku. Rashford being better down the middle is not new, but martial is proving to be more dangerous down that middle too. Even our Valencia and young seem to be doing better as wing backs than the traditional fullbacks in a back 4 We should stick to this formation and not just use it for big games. Mkhitaryan, Mata and lingard call kill themselves for the spot behind the front 2. Lingard seems to be edging the battle now, but I sincerely hope the other 2 pick up soon. Mhkitaryan especially. |
Oasis007:that doesn't explain why blind and darmian seem to be ahead of him in pecking order |
SailorXY:I'm a bit sceptical about letting Shaw go easy. I honestly do not know what exactly is wrong with him |
afrodoc2:Sandro is available for around 50m as well. My fear is that he may favour a move to Paris |
Facepalm |
elampiro:nobody is shouting stats. What we are shouting instead is for a player like Pogba, stats should not be a whip for flogging him. What people are shouting now is that, that whip cannot even be used this season. |
Lindelof wasn't even flawless yesterday, but we are all happy because he is showing signs of improving and was generally solid. Imagine if someone from nowhere took his time to analyse his performance yesterday with the sole purpose of looking for faults and hanging those faults on his neck like Bling Bling, for no other reason than 'he cost xyz million'. Elampiro, I will let your blanket statement about Pogba's half season performance and out of context link fly because I'm not in a position to go in depth now, maybe later in the day.. But the above was what was happening to Pogba last season and that to me was unnecessary. It may look necessary to you, but it wasn't to me. We can leave it at that. He is playing well now and everyone is happy. Let's leave it at thatm |
If na someone else like Morata or any other white footballer with a reputation for fancy football slide that pass to martial for lingard goal, we for still dey hear of am. But hey, it's Lukaku.. He is supposed to be jambody. Only the bad first touches or the misplaced passes will etch in their brains, because it is what will fit the narrative. Against Watford, someone(a supposed united fan) was reviewing the game and he had only negative things to say about Lukaku’s performance, I was shocked |
Is Lukaku supposed to be doing better? absolutely. But I am satisfied with whatever it is he is currently offering and calls for him to be dropped are absolutely rubbish. Wether you like it or not, the rubbish he has been playing were vital in our last 3 wins, and I am satisfied with that. The goals will come. |
Part of my new season resolutions was to avoid any form of back and forths, especially on these boards. Na why I no go engage in any Lukaku argument and why I overlook all the people Wey don already write Lindelof off after 2 bad games. Uncle time go resolve everything last last. |
Neymar cost 200m and cannot outscore merefish delay in that farmers league. Mbappe has 4 or 5 goals playing for that psg side in the league. But nobody will talk trash anywhere, because common sense will somehow be in their heads. At some point last season, they were talking about goal drought for Pogba, a CM . |
Oasis007:things are looking good for an appeal. |
The criticism of Pogba last season was unnecessarily harsh On too many occasions and whenever you tried to point it out, they would always fall back to things like price tag, numbers and even big game performances. The price tag argument is dead and buried now thanks to neymar, Mbappe, Dembele etc. The numbers have started to stack up thanks to people like martial And to few others stepping up and Ibrahimovic out the way. The big game performance nonsense go dissappear too. |
elampiro:blind at CB is a no no. Especially against small teams. The man can't win a header to save his life, and small teams can very easily capitalize on that. |
