And how did that go for Neville, Moyes? Going to bottom teams or some struggling foreign teams and trying to bring them up is not easy can easily end a carrer before it even begins. Look at Neville.. we won't even touch him with a barge pole.
teams that are already stable. That Valencia job as it was then was just as toxic as any other bottom table epl job

I can almost understand giggs dodging certain managerial posts. The man doesn't want to kill his career before it even starts by taking any of those toxic jobs at the bottom half of the premier league.

He should consider going abroad. He decent team in France or Germany should be a good enough environment to test his mettle

Abi na.. Giggs sef dey wait patiently

''I did an interview last week about my managerial aspirations and received some criticism because apparently I wasn't willing to manage at a lower level.

I didn't say anything at all about not managing at a lower level; I said because of my experience, I'd be more suited coaching at the level which I previously played and coached.

My critic quoted Steven Gerrard saying, in his experience, footballers want to just do their UEFA C Licence and go straight into the job. I did my UEFA B Licence when I was 29, my A Licence when I was 35, my Pro Licence while I was still playing and I coached at Manchester United for three years - including managing four games - so I don't see the relevance.

The argument that players who have been a success can't go into success is a non-argument. People use Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger but there are also countless examples of unsuccessful players being unsuccessful managers. It is all down to the individual.

I played until i was 40 so i was doing my Pro License on a Saturday and Sunday, training on a Monday and Tuesday, doing more coaching and then driving back for Champions League games on Wednesday. To say I haven't put in the work is ridiculous.

I felt I could gain more from moving on and I'm now waiting for that right opportunity. I've shown interest in the Wales job and I'm involved in Salford and the Vietnamese football academy.

Every day it gets a bit more difficult with the climate of coaching appointments. I've grown up with the ethos of building something and that seems to have gone out of the window.

I think you see with contracts being offered, nobody is getting the long-term deals which Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger had.

You look at Sean Dyche, who has been able to establish himself and is now really building something great at Burnley, but then there's the likes of Mark Hughes and Eddie Howe who lose a couple of games and suddenly people say they're under pressure.

I don't know if what Sir Alex Ferguson did at Manchester United is possible anymore with the climate of everything, the media and the money, right now.

Sir Alex used to come down and watch us at 14 at The Cliff and see which players would be in the first team in three or four years, but I don't think you can do that anymore.''
that initial plan of understudying van gaal for 3 years before taking over would have been perfect of van gaal didn't fúck shít up before getting the boot

From what I saw yesterday, Utd team is split into 2 parts.

In the 4-2-3-1, the distance between the 4-2 and the 3-1 is too great, and there is no cohesion between those 2 halves of the team. It is everything I hate about 4-2-3-1, and we saw these chasms between attack and defence when Jose implemented this system at Chelsea. The team did not move as one unit.

It was basically get the ball to the front 4, they lose it, and then the back 6 are being counterattacked. And repeat cycle.

The whole team needs to move 10 yards further up the pitch to establish proper build-up between the back 6 and the front 4. Fullbacks should be allowed to join the attack, likewise the top 4 need to get involved in the build-up play. It is a feature of a Juan Mata midfield to see this big chasm of space between the 2 base midfielders and the AM. We had that at Chelsea for years. That's a tactical instability that comes with Juan Mata. He should be able to join the midfield 3 and involve himself in build-up play that will allow the rest of the team move 10 yards up the pitch. This is why I prefer 4-3-3 to 4-2-3-1.

Mourinho has never mastered the 4-2-3-1 formation, and I don't see why he is insistent on playing it instead of the 4-3-3 that brought him the most success.

personnel bro.
Herrera has a few loose screws, carrick was offered a free one year extension to come stay on the hospital bed, Fellaini is injured and mctominwa isn't all that.
.

Matic and Pogba are our only 2 Sane midfield choices right now

Bro, practically no United fan wants us to fail just to say i told you so. I was in support until i started seeing signs early this season, i am actually still in support, and don't want him sacked now.

The problem is with those that refuse to acknowledge that a problem exists. Having insight is the first step in tackling a problem, and it appears some people here (and probably our manager also) lack it.

I have taken an inter-continental flight, then stood from London to Manchester in a train carriage full of inebriated Liverpool fans only for us to lose 0-3 at home. I have been a fan for over 2 decades and attended several games despite never been in England for more than a few weeks at a time.

The success of the club is paramount to me, and definitely means more to me than winning a faceless argument with people i will probably never meet.
I hope and pray Mourinho proves me wrong and we get back to not only winning ways but exciting fotball.
nyabinghi and that ruudie incarnate are saying hi

Our scouting networks have been undergoing some form of upgrades in recent times, rightly so.
The hope is that Mourinho doesn't fail. Anyone that hopes he fails just so he can come here to told us so are the real fake fans.
But life no begin and end with Mourinho and should he fail in the end, we need to change the manner with which we approach a lot of things at this club

All am really saying is that what level of success or failure are you willing to tolerate.
This firing of manager anyhow works for Madrid, barca and Chelsea no reason it can't work for us too.
Jose na my long term choice too but we gats face reality.
if we want to be firing managers anyhow, it is important we have a director of football or anyone like that not Woodward to be in charge of transfers following a template.
We cannot be hiring and firing managers with each one of them coming with their own kind of players.
That na recipe for chaos

its more like REESTABLISHING A BASELINE OF SUCCESS this season because I recall that some of us agreed here that Jose has no excuse not winning the league this season.

That was because we felt he had enough to win it, but Jose himself has used his own hand and defensive masterclass performances to Bleep things up by respecting not only top 6 sides but also midtable teams.

Every team that see United in front of them feel they can get something out of the game, at least they have that belief, but am sure with city, they Dont feel that way.

Let's take nothing from city, they have been exceptional but we on our part have been generally very irritating and poor even though we had some good wins where some of us still pointed out that we ain't doing well but were happy we got the 3points.

I have been saying these, even when we were winning 4-0s. I knew this period will come but some asked us to accept wins with bad performances. I know too well that those kind of results are not sustainable. We are still yet to see what Jose brings to the team, that can outlast him if he decides to leave. If he leaves in the summer we are back to ground zero, 300 million pounds later.

On a lighter note, i believe Ed and his guys are watching. Mourinho should be supported to get his first choice players this January if we are to stop this rot ASAP.

lol, we won't be back to any ground zero.
In terms of player recruitment Jose has been very good, without even considering the wastefulness of van gaal and moyes' dithering.

All his buys have been very good, na only Mkhitaryan wan dey fall hand now.
I would entrust him with more money if I were Woodward.
Even if he ultimately fails to utilize them to their maximum output, the coming manager will at least have a better squad to start with
