Make sure your comparing the Nigeria call minutes apples to apples by looking at the fine print closely. Unlimited Nigeria calling plans may have a "fair use policy" in the terms that really means its NOT unlimited When comparing bundled monthly minute plans. Try to figure out the true rate per minute and make sure you plan to use ALL your minutes to get the most value out of this "use it or loose it" set monthly minute plans. Also try to avoid any that auto renew to another block of time if you go over your plan. I work for Pingo and we have rates to call Nigeria as low as 7.9 cents per minute in the Mega monthly plan. However we do offer a $10 bonus to new customers with $20 min. sign up. We could add in a 10% of coupon (code: social ) to make it a $30 credit for just $18 US. That would be an Intro rate of 5.3 cents to give Pingo a try on Pingo Mega Plan.

Frynga is a part of MyVoipTraffic network of voip sites. Will see how long they can keep a 5.6 cent rate as the real cost is much higher since Oct 1st. Pingo's lowest rate is 7.9 cents US to Nigeria on the Pingo Mega plan. However we do offer a $10 bonus to new customers with $20 min. sign up. We could add in a 10% of coupon (code: social ) to make it a $30 credit for just $18 US. That would beat this 5.6 cent rate to about 5.3 cents for an intro rate to give Pingo a try ![]() |

Interesting thread coming from someone that has worked in telecom for over 10 years with Pingo. The cost is real and while we can't really pay our customers to compete against all the free options available today. I understand your concerns to try to reduce your monthly telecom expense with this increase. On our Pingo blog we announced this rate increase as well and our plans to try to keep our customers business.
