Elvictor:Unfortunately, SE & SS have not been pro APC. Therefore, saying they won't vote Jagaban is just reinforcing their political leanings. |

I'm not sure you are thinking what I'm thinking. Where is Obaseki's wife or is he married to many wives? One thing comes out clearly during the campaigns - one of the 2 major contrasts is definitely not a good team leade. |

edoairways:------- This willing seller initiative offers no protection to average Nigerian consumer of electricity rather, it is set up to put the common man in perpetual darkness. If I may ask, how much do discos purchase unit of electricity from genco? Definitely it cannot be lower that the approved tariff because nobody will invest in what does not guarantee reasonless profit. If NERC approved the initiative, NNPC and DPR can as well do the same model for dealers of oil and gas and sell products to the highest bidders at the expense of common man. |
IKEDC & other DISCOS are scuttling the efforts of government on provision of power supply to the masses. Despite obvious challenges of power generation which is around 10 mega watts, IKEDC and co have now resorted to providing electricity to the highest bidders who apparently live in organized communities. What IKEDC and other discos do is to deliberately and criminally arm twist the blue chip estates to paying higher tariffs far and well above what government approved as the going tariffs. This criminal strategy is now putting a lot of areas in perpetual darkness while the so called rich people's areas (who ordinarily can afford to use diesel 24/7) are enjoying constant supply of electricity. The unfortunate bit is the NERC who are supposed to regulate these nefarious activities of IKEDC and other DISCOS are keeping quiet without any intervention or at least put up a notice that it is criminal for IKEDC and other discos to charge above the approved tariffs whether it is offered by the customers or themselves the service provider. How did IKEDC and other discos do this? IKEDC has successfully done this with main Magodo estate Residents charging them about #46 (N/KWh) instead of government approved #21.8/KWh for R2TP Tariff code users (3-phase residential). The same thing has been done at Ogudu estate where those residents now pay around #54/kWh. A formal agreement / MOU or contracts detailing the deliverables on part of IKEDC and the community was signed by the two parties. The irony of it is that these communities on premium tariffs are quickly installed with pre-paid meters which they claim that they are having challenges of whatever sort with. With the above premium rates being paid by the two estates that I'm aware of, they are guaranteed 20hrs - 24hrs uninterrupted electricity supply while the neighboring communities like Shangisha and main Ogudu town languish in 18hrs to 20hrs of DARKNESS. If DPR can intervene and penalize gas / fuel stations selling above government approved rates per liter, why can't NERC do the same by penalizing not just the DISCOS but also those communities that go into such criminal arrangements with IKEDC? I still doubt if corruption will be eliminated if arrangements like these are allowed to germinate! |
