A SOLID AND HEALTHY INVESTMENT CUCUMBER FARMING

In general, to invest is to allocate money (or sometimes another resource, such as time) in the expectation of some benefit in the future - for example, investment in durable goods, in real estate by the service industry, in factories for manufacturing, in product development, and in research and development. However, this article focuses specifically on investment in agribusiness.

In agribusiness, the benefits from investment is called a return. The return in agribusiness may consist of capital gains or investment income, including dividends, interest, income etc., or a combination of the two. The projected economic return is the appropriately discounted value of the future returns. The historic return comprises the actual capital gain (or loss) or income (or both) over a period of time. I don't know why people are afraid of investing their money in agribusiness but we are not afraid of doing online business that's not physical. No need to be afraid of us because it is what you are going to see yourself. You will come down to our farm to see how your money is being run. Who is fooling who in this country, when our so called government are not ready to do anything about the rate of unemployment in this country, by the year 2050, Nigeria will be the third most populated country in the whole world with 400,000million people. Who will feed this people.... The only way out is AGRICULTURE.... We have everything to feed our nation and we have everything for our economy to boom. As the saying goes " don't give me fish but show me how to fish" Nevertheless you have to fish with the right tools and technique, therefore we run a one on one farm training. However, if you can't farm, we will farm for you and you get your return on investment back after the full harvest. No cause for alarm, as your investment is legally and genuinely secured.

The rains are here again farmers, so what to plant in this season is key.........the seedlings to plant is very important either hybrid or local......the raining season has its own pest and diseases that occurs during this period but how to plant is key......

HOW TO PLANT;

Land preparation is very important before planting.......many people skip the little process and boycott the processes on preparing the land before planting.....From cultivating to top dressing, to application of manure....I always advice intending farmers to always add manure on the soil before planting and please dept of planting too is very important especially in the raining season......Application of manure after germination is key because once the cucumber starts fruiting, it most have taken the nutrient in the soil and thereby you'll need to replenish it by adding another by the 21st day......one of the effects of not applying manure before and after planting might result to the leaf yellowing which might be as a result of lack sufficient nutrient in the soil for fruiting......Chemical application is very important because some person assume that; i cant see anything visible yet so why apply the chemicals but the delay or skipping of the application will cost you more later because by then the pest and disease might have done a lot of damage......; PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE THEY SAY ;

N/B; Please intending farmers i will advice that the little, little process and things to do about planting cucumber, you should go visit any farmer that has a functional farm to get a one on one lecture on economics of the business before you start........PLEASE VISIT FARM....

THANKS

now to the next topic of WHEN TO PLANT.......sorry guys i'm not really good in typing too long and writing much things but what i will want is for you to ask your questions in regards to my post and i'll respond in due time..

WHEN TO PLANT boils down to seasons of planting ( rain and dry ) and most farmers don't take into consideration of seasons before planting.....most cucumbers do well during the raining seasons, while some don't and the pest you experience during the raining seasons its different from that of the dry season.....The profit you make during the raining season is very much different from that of the dry season......

The DRY SEASON planting is very much profitable than that of the raining season because you must use irrigation as water is an essential key for you to achieve the desired profit and cucumber is 90% water but the cost of setting it up is always high but the RIO is much fun.......while the cost of preparing and planting your cucumber during the RAINING SEASON is low..

So before you go into cucumber farming you should an proper analysis of;

1) Season.
2) which seeds are you going to plant.
3) the economics of the biz in regards to what profit you want to make

MARKETING..........

There are two types of market using portharcourt as my case study

1) Local market

2) Vegetable market

The local market is where you sell your not too green cucumber ( CU999 etc) while the vegetable market is where you sell your dark green cucumber (Murano, Nagano etc)...Now breaking into the vegetable market is always a big challenge because the market is always dominated by the Northern farmers and most times you get the middle men/women dupe you out of your profit....so you decide which market you want to penetrate..with my little experience, there's no much difference with the local market pricing and the vegetable market pricing, so why border when you can get a stress free sales of your produce....

let's start with WHAT TO PLANT..sorry i might be a lilttle slower with my post as I'm busy with farm work..

1) which seed do you intend planting?
there are different types of seeds ( hybrid And the non-hybrids).

i) one of the peculier things about the hybrids is there maturity days And low resistance to desieses.

ii) there high yield per harvest ..

2) MARKETING: every locality, state And region has its own unique market..please And please KNOWING YOUR DESIRED MARKET is KEY in agric ( cucumber) farming And I always advice you do a very thorough MARKET RESEARCH before any other stats in drawing up the economics of your farm biz..

I'll use Rivers State as my case study because I'm based there..

i) I prefer planting any light green hybrid cucumber Than planting the dark green hybrid..REASONS

like most farmers, they complain about how the middle men/women dupe them with absord prices And there by making more profit than we the farmers. the northan farmers regulate the price of the veggi market too And there by reducing our profit margine...

there are two types of market.....to be continued
