Education / NERDC Reviews National Curriculum by piusjoe(m): 9:48am On Jul 12, 2021
The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council has called for the review of the Senior Secondary School curriculum.

The Executive Secretary of NERDC, Prof. Ismail Junaidu, made the call on Friday in Calabar at a one-day stakeholders’ dialogue for the South-South zone.

He said that the dialogue was part of efforts by the council to carry all stakeholders along in order to ensure acceptable curriculum for the country.

He added that there was the need to restructure, realign and revise the present curriculum which was introduced since 2011 to meet the current global developmental challenge.

“Ten years after the introduction of the current SSE curriculum, you will agree with me that, times have changed, the world has moved on, new ideas have been created, knowledge has advanced, new goals have been set, new skills have emerged, and new technologies have been developed.

“The only way we can catch up with these changes and create opportunities for our children to acquire new skills and competencies is to provide them with the requisite learning experiences through the revision of the curriculum, ” he said.

According to him, the goal of the council is not only to develop a curriculum that meets the needs of the present, but “one that will as well enable us to create the future that we desire as a people”.
Politics / Re: Mike Ozekhome Vs Femi Falana On Ndume's Suspension by piusjoe(m): 9:14am On Apr 01, 2017
President99:
Let Mike tell us the part of the constitution or subsisting court judgment he relied on to say so or he should keep his wishful thinking to himself or his stupid logic. What makes Mike a lawyer is still law and not logic. Falana cited constitution and subsisting high/appeal court judgments to buttress his stand. Suspending a NASS member is illegal coz he represents constituency which is part of Nigeria. If NASS a member iasuspended, are u telling us tat his constituents cant be part of lawmaking in Nigeria? There should be other ways of disciplining erring members!

Very reasonable

Webmasters / Re: Why Shared Web Hosting Is Bad For Online Business by piusjoe(m): 7:40am On Mar 20, 2017
yomalex:
Ultimately depends on the service provider. Thousands of people use shared hosting and they are okay. Everybody can't use VPS.
Absolutely concur. I run many business websites with majority on shared hosting and it has been hitchfree

Cos we were spoilt by nature. Nature gave us natural resources like crude oil and we saw it as all and all and refuse to use our head. Whereas other countries not blessed by nature like China are using their intelligence. Now oil money we no dey see. And because that laziness is already there, anywhere we see free money without work we go shook head.

Together We Can Change The World is not a slogan for lazy men like MMM participants. It is slogan for intelligence-driven and hardworking fellas. cool

Education / Re: Recession: Lagos Parents Withdraw Kids From Private Schools by piusjoe(m): 4:07pm On Sep 11, 2016
Handsomecole:
Personally I see nothing special in private schools. Most of them lack the impartation of morals into these young ones. There are very good public schools around that instil discipline in your children.
I'm a product of public education from my primary and secondary till University. And will all sense of humility competed well and was way above my mates who attended private schools.
In my secondary school days we had masters and even PhD holders as teachers and they taught us
excellently well most especially my English Teachers.
The part I love most is the aspect of discipline cutting of grass, carrying of blocks, washing of toilets, mass flogging, etc.
Your head go "correct" well and you will learn to respect your older ones.

#ProudlyPublic

That was then. You need to pay one of the modern public school a visit. As of last time i heard from the public secondary school i attended, school fees has been raised to almost the same level as the private schools and standards has dropped

Crime / Re: Nigerian Student Murdered In Cyprus by piusjoe(m): 9:25am On Aug 12, 2013
It's unfortunate that neither Nigerian citizens,Nigerian leaders nor Nigerian embassies is patriotic. No class cares for the other- this is but a reason why the citizens experience all this without a single action from any group, not even the youth! too sad. Adieu Stan
