I only hear or see on whatsapp broadcast messages about snake being inside the water closet and several precautions to take to avoid such. But this happen live yesterday 12/05/2018.

In my toilet, I have a wash hand basin immediately you enter the toilet to your right before getting to the water closet. So while using the water closet, I was pressing and attending to some stuffs on my phone when my eyes got glued to one hole in the wash hand basin, I saw something brownish inside and I was like, could this be rag, and if it's a rag, what was it doing there?, was it used to cover or block something?, so put on the touch light of my phone and moved closer but what I saw a shinning brown snake.

I dash out of the toilet without cleaning up, entered the bathroom to clean up and put on some cloth. Couldn't think straight and I was like, how can a snake be inside that place, the same wash hand basin where I wash my hand and brush my teeth everyday. I took a picture of it because I knew many would not believe me.

Didn't know what to do for a while before I later decide to pour petrol inside the whole and light it up. Immediately I pour the petrol, the snake ran for cover before I could light it up. I eventually did so but not where I expected, the fire was just burning inside the basin but not inside the hole. While doing that, I pharmacist friend of mine called, I narrated everything to him he told me to make sure I see the snake and kill it. So he advise I called a plumber to take out the basin and trace where ever the snake might be and make sure I kill it.

So I called my landlord, he wasn't picking, so I went to his apartment and met his younger brother, he said the Landlord is not at home. I narrated everything to him. He followed me to my apartment, removed the basin and took it out of the toiled into the compound.

The basin has several outlet and compartment, so we decided to sniff out the snake. So we put grounded pepper on a paper and applied matches to burn it up which was inserted in one of the hole so that the smoke can move within the compartment hence forcing the snake out but nothing happened. We applied petrol and light it up, still nothing happen. I brought out like 3 different insecticides and flit through the hole and still nothing comes out.

The guy started asking questions like, sir are u sure u see anything, I showed him the pictures I took and zoom it. He was like, we have tried everything possible but nothing is coming out. So i started questioning myself if I truly saw anything. I kept on insisting that, the snake is there. Since we don't have any hole on the wall where the basin was fixed and the only outlet we have is the water passage from the basin through the channel and into the soak away.

He held the basin and start shaking it for sometime and drop it on the floor again. He now peep through one of the hole and said, it's true oo. U said? I asked, he affirmed that he has seen it. So am not hallucinating? I ask myself. Was relieved to hear the snake is there indeed.

He asked me to boil a water and we pour it inside one of the hole and he shook it severally, mind u, I was a bit far away from him ooo. After dropping it again, he ask me to come closer where I could see it clearly. I told him am not coming that am OK where I was. He said, the snake is dead that I should come closer. On seeing it, I took another pictures through the hole and zoom it. He later used a copper wire to pull out the dead snake.

Hmmmmm. If I was told that it is possible to see a snake in that kind of place, I would never have believed such, even those I see on whatsapp broadcast messages but now, seeing is believing.

All the papers must not be forged/fake because such attract N20,000 each.
If your driver's licence is under Process pls don't drive until you have been captured.

Please be advised so that we won't be blaming VIO for issuing tickets or for doing their job.

Haven gone through all the messages posted on this tread and by the OP, I will like to say few things too.

First thing first, their is no ignorance in Law. Either you know the law and stay save, and if you don't, one can pay dearly for it.

From Monday, if u stay in Lagos state, and you are in possession of vehicle(s)/automobile, kindly visit any VIS(Vehicle Inspection Service) office, meet with the VIO (Vehicle Inspection Officers) and ask them, what and what you need to do, for your cars/auto mobiles to be road worthy. And once you have done all that, no VIO officers can harass you.

Was fortunate to witness a road check operation where 30 cars was stopped and all were asked to go with all documents intact.

At the VIO office, try and collect their flyers which contains the phone numbers of the VIS Directors, Area commanders, Zonal Heads for direct reporting of any erring officers.

I didn't say the VIO are saints, and some officers might be corrupted or fantastically corrupted, but it's the work of the public to expose them.

Please, we should also try to always verify claims before we start hauling abuse. Get evidence, make sure the evidence is valid and accurate, conducts investigation before coming out with any claim.

Hope the op has evidence that one of the officer requested for bride? Hope the OP was not trying to escape or run? I can see two patrol fan in the pix, how come? Was all your documents complete with valid drivers license and LASDRI? Are you the only one in the car or you are with the company driver that was sick? So many questions to ask, but who am I to do so.

I heard someone here saying, VIO don't have any business with drivers license, hmmmmmm, I guess you don't know the process to follow in obtaining a valid drivers license cos if you do, you must have realized that the issuance of the license is a tripartite one which involves 3 key agents(MVAA, VIS, FRSC) VIO function is very key like others, If VIO designated officers don't sign off on your form, then you will never get your license. They are the one that send you to FRSC for capturing, then the FRSC send the captured information to a central server in Abuja, they issue you a temporary DL until the original is been sent down from Abuja FRSC to state where it was applied for.

Many drivers are carrying about fake Drivers license and they don't seems to know, from mere glance at it, a VIO officer will tell you if it's a fake or not. And you all can as well try to verify the authenticity of you drivers license so that you won't fall victims of heavy fine. To verify, go to this site https://www.nigeriadriverslicence.org once it opens, click on DL Application and select renewal. Enter your L/NO: and your date of birth. Then click on search. If it's original, it will bring out all your details and information, if it doesn't, kindly visit any VIS offices closer to you and tell them you want to apply for Driving License. You will be informed on the steps to follow. Don't let me bore you with too much epistle about the DL

Any again, most of the car owners go about using fake insurance. Many don't know, but if you are caught, you will be slam with fine.

A single offense, no matter how small it is is 20k, if u committed four offenses, you know your bills already.

Even if you plead, it might only be reduced and not wiped out.

I took my time to study the VIO because many feared them than death. And I realize that, a lot of people sees other sister agencies as good because they can easily bride their way out of any trouble or offenses, but VIO people will never listen to your plea. And they will make sure you are taken to their yard if and only if you default.

If you see any driver that tries to evade VIO, he knows what is being expected of him as a car owner and a driver but knowing fully well that he his a perpetual defaulter, they will now turn themselves info fast and furious driver and creating unnecessary scene.

Some of the commentator above has really given a key and valid information on who and who to call or report any erring officers to. And I also learn that, default officers investigated and found guilty get dismissed immediately. That's why a proper VIO officer won't listen to any plea from defaulter.

But once the offender gets to the VIO office, HE/SHE can request to see the zonal head and argue out his/her case. The Zonal Head is the only one that can then consider your plea and determine to what amount the fine can be reduced to likewise the Governor and the Commissioner of Transportation, The Directors or Area commanders.

So if you are employed to do a certain job, we don't have to condemn the officers for doing their job, and if you see an officer that is corrupt, kindly do your best to expose such officer immediately.


NOTE:::

From Monday, for those of you that lives in Lagos and uses a car/Bus/Bike/Trucks/Articulated vehicles, please try and make sure you have a:

1) Valid and Original papers of your vehicle:
2) Make sure your car is road worthy and has a valid road worthy certificate
3) Hackney Permit, LASDRI, Original Divers license etc.
4) A working fire Extinguisher (note that most fire extinguisher is made to be used once.) once u press it either my testing or use it to put out a fire, then you must get another one.

Once all these are in place, please you don't need to run for any VIO if you have not defaulted in no way. As from Monday, they will start using e-ticketing. No more manual ticketing.

And once you are ticketed no reversal. If you wish to complain or argue your case out, then you will have to visit Alausa. If you are wrongly ticketed as well, you can get a redress and everything will be taken care of. All e-ticket go straight to central server and to the Governor directly.

So from Monday, is either you have all that is expected of you, and if you don't and you were caught, their is high chances that pleading won't even work more again. Cos once you actually defaulted and e-ticketed, Hmmmmmmmm.

You can as well sue the Government to court. A lot have done it and the case was well settled to satisfaction.

We should learn not to be mean at others for doing their job. We should always report any fraudulent officers/law enforcement agency for wrong doing or corruption to the appropriate heads.

I tried to take up the case of the ops and in the cause of doing that, I get to know a lot about VIS and their mode operandi.

Please all, let's learn from the ops case.

Many should also know that. Social media can be used the wrong way to claim cheap popularity by many and we should also try to check and re-check whatever we say on to others cos the Internet will never forget. I don't blame those attacking the ops cos he has also done that times without number too and yet he was not caution. Why caution others now? May be God just decided to use this scenario to caution the ops so that he can adjust better.

No harm in apologizing too to the igbos or whoever he has condemn before because that will speak a lot of things about him. We don't need to be too rigid. Flexibility is the key.

Others too that attacked him should also apologize too because if the case is between life and death too, this scenario might play out as well.

I take God beg u all, If you see any job vacancies from Lagos state, please jump in immediately. They are far better in recruitment of non indigene than any other state in Nigeria. I just laff when I see people saying, no mind them,they have chosen those they intended to employ.

Lagos State is more sincere, proactive and the best in whatever they set out to achieve

They pay salary on or before 21-23 of every month, during festive period 18-20 and they kept on reviewing the working conditions of staffs for better.

I know how i got my job in Lagos state, even my friends that I only sent the lagos state recruitment portal link to got employed too.

Don't pay anybody 1dime just to get employed please. If the job is yours then its yours. If you pay to get the job, and they found out eventually, you will still loose the job.

Alot of employment will still role in massively. So I say to you all, be ready, be prepared, be vigilant, be steadfast and more prayerful.

Once you have done your Oracle and ADC (Assumption Of Duty Certificate)has been issued, na to expect salary the following month be that. Lagos state pay salary 22/23 max of every month.

Some new VIO recruit and re-designated one collected their Letter today. Those that collected before are now filling their oracle form, file opening at MOT (ministry of transportation) the last Lastma list I saw that has been gazette contains 258 names. The circular was dated May 16. Guess that's the first batch, they have concluded their training and have been posted too. Guess they will start with the other batch soon.

What many of us don't know is that, the recruitment going on is of two types, the fresh recruitment (those the government are trying to employ fresh from scratch) and The Re-designation of appointment( those in service already that wish to move from one ministry to another) but the Re designation of appointment is for those who wish to move from one ministry to vehicles inspection office (VIO).

Some engineers were even withdrawn from the successful lastma recruit and added to the VIO recruitment.

For the re-designation officers, the first batch collected their letter on June 6 and the effective date was May 26th 2016 and they were asked to dropped some copies at the PSO (Public service Office). Ever since then no further information was forth coming.

Last week, another batch of the re-designation applicant to VIO was sent a message to appear before the CSC (civil service commission) and member with copies of their documents. I also got informed that they were ask to come again today may be for collection of their letter, I can't really say.

All in all, any Government recruitment normally takes time to get concluded, so we should try to be calm and relaxed till it get to our turn.

If you have the time to visit Alausa, kindly do so cos all the information one needed might not be available here and some who have the info might not be willing to share.

And I need to say this, many of us here always asking for source of information and always insisting to know if the information is real or not, note: even if u are with the governor at the point a decision was made, the next minutes you leave the information might be altered and unknown to you.

What am saying is this, government information is very volatile and can changes within seconds. So please if you are told one thing and you didn't meet it like that, that doesn't means you should insult the personality of such person that provided the info.

Very correct. Go to vacancies after filling all fill able. Only one vacancie should be their. Apply for it by filling the form their i.e, indicate if your degree is Actual degree publicized or related degree. What this means is this, in the advert, some courses were specified like computer, yoruba, etc. If your degree carries the above mentioned courses in the advert, then your degree is actual degree publicized if not, it is related degree.

After then indicate if you have second degree, have forgotten the 3rd part in that section. Once u through, click apply.

Then check My Application section to know the status.
