To me, Eden is a very dangerous player. The ball sticks to his feet, he is quick, can dribble in tight spaces and has mad gravity: That guy pulls defenders like no one else in the EPL and distorts opposing defenses just by his presence. But he does not score or assist enough to be that world class player that he potentially is, or should be.

Brazil vs Belgium game for example, some people praised him because he was on a winning team. But what was he really doing all game? At the point where it was 2-1 and Brazil had come out fully to draw or go home, Belgium had spaces to really hurt them but Hazard was over-dribbling and holding on to the ball for too darn long. I remember watching that game and wishing he would just release the ball once rather than stall and get fouled.

That peccadillo in his game is the difference between what he currently is and being world class. There are many games like that including the Newcastle game this season where he turned around to dribble some more and let the chance go begging. If you like him like I do, you should desire more from his game rather than make excuses. After all, if all he does is dribble, and score the occasional goal, then it gives credence to the Zaha comparisons -albeit, unjustified- because that is pretty much all Zaha does.

Summarily, the people calling him world-class are over-stating what his accolades truly mean, while those rubbishing him completely are trivializing him to diabolical levels. If there was any level in football called quasi-worldclass, that probably is what Eden is.
