I bought the Starlink Gen 2 sometime last year, and a couple of weeks back I noticed some abrupt disconnections. I ran a system check with their AI and was notified that my Starlink was defective. I was given a replacement (Gen 3), which I have now installed. I contacted customer service to ask what I should do with the old unit. They told me it has been deactivated and should be properly disposed of.

Of course, I know the entire kit can’t be completely useless. I’m curious — has anyone else been in this situation, and what did you do with yours? I was advised to sell the parts like the router, cables, and charger.

Greetings. Please I am greatly considering the Airtel ODU. Can I hand it on a pole outside? Those long steel poles we used to hand gotv antenna (I have one lying unused in my compound). Would that give a better reception than just hanging outside ones corridor?

The IDU of the Zlt ODUs does two jobs, one of which is PoE. It's hard to get a device that can do that. If you have fried your IDU, you go need to buy PoE adapter and a router that can work as wired broadband.

That said, I think the ZTE device in that quoted message should be able to work as wired broadband.

You can't unlock it. Just get an unlocked mifi and connect through USB or connect through Lan cable.
