Many Times, we buy white clothes and after a short while, it’s looking like it’s cousin “Mr. Brown” lol!!

We make a lot of mistakes while and after washing these clothes, mistakes that cost us the beautiful colour.

Here are some tips on how to Maintain the white colour of clothes.


1. SEPARATE YOUR COLOURED CLOTHES


Wash white clothes separately. Even the lightest of colours can change the white colour in the pure white clothings
2. DO NOT USE TOO MUCH DETERGENT.

We all think the more detergent we use, the cleaner it will get the clothes. But that isn’t the case at all. Too much detergent can actually make clothes dirtier. And no matter how much detergent you use, make sure that the cloth is always rinsed well

3. BRIGHTEN WITH THE POWER OF THE SUN

Once your whites are freshly washed and wet,skip using the dryer. Instead of making them suffer through a super high heat, lay them out in the sun to naturally whiten them. The sun will bleach your clothing without the smell and danger of bleach. If you’ve ever left something out in the sun for a long period of time, you know just how whitening its rays can be.
4. ALLOW TO DRY COMPLETELY UNDER THE SUN

Allow the washed white clothes to dry completely under the sun. If not allowed to properly dry, it can cause browning of fabric.

People love black apparels. The colour allows for the apparels not to get dirty easily. but there’s one major problem people suffer with these colour of apparels. THEY FADE.

It’s quite annoying to have a nice looking apparel fade over time thereby losing it’s beauty so the question here is, How can the fading process be reduced or slowed down?

Here are some ways to achieve that goal.

DO NOT WASH WITH DETERGENTS THAT BLEACH

Most detergents in Nigeria bleach coloured apparels especially when it is soaked in them. The chemicals in the detergent tend to easily remove the dye in the apparels.

None bleaching soaps are better for washing black apparels.

DO NOT LET IT DRY COMPLETELY UNDER THE SUN

The Sun has the ability to bleach (remove the original colour) an apparel. So in order to dry your black clothes after washing, place under the sun but once it’s close to drying completely, move to an airy shaded region.

ADD SALT TO WASHING WATER

When Salt is added to washing water, it reduces the rate at which the dye in the black cloth washes off. Try it and see.

WASH GENTLY

The more vigorous the washing, the higher the tendency of washing off the black dye in the apparel. Wash gently and not for too long.

DO NOT WASH REGULARLY

The more clothes are washed, the more of it’s colour it loses. So reduce the number of times these clothes are washed.
