WebmastersHow To Embed Youtube Video Without Youtube Logo by PMenaha(op): 12:57am On Jan 23, 2017
With out much waste of time, let me go straight to the point. By default, embedded YouTube videos carries the YouTube logo or link. But of you would to remove the logo from the YouTube player, here’s a simple trick to do that.
Remove YouTube Logo from YouTube Video

Below is how the default YouTube embed code looks like:

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-hX_rznqnM0" height="350" width="575">

Add ?modestbranding=1 to the embed code. It should look something like:

<iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-hX_rznqnM0?modestbranding=1" height="350" width="575">

Now copy and paste the modified code to your web page. The YouTube video appears but doesn’t display the YouTube logo overlay.
Both Adobe Flash and IFRAME based embed codes compatible with HTML5 supports the “modestbranding” parameter.
The “?modestbranding=1” parameter should be put first after the VIDEO ID before any other parameter.

I hope this tip helps. Have any question? Let me know in your comments

Webmasters7 Mistakes You're Making That Drives Away Visitors From Your Blog by PMenaha(op): 12:40am On Jan 21, 2017
You want more blog visitors, but the ones already visiting visits and never come back again. You’re literally driving them away.

“What might be the cause?” You may wonder. Interestingly, the answer is not far fetched – You! Yes you heard me. Don’t ask me how as it’s what I’m about to tell you.

Blogging requires proper strategy and implementing things the right way. In a situation where you fail to do the right thing, in the right way and at the right time, the number of your blog’s visitors reduces.

I had a terrible time trying to build my online business through blogging. At one point in time, I felt like to quit blogging entirely and focus on my regular job. On the other hand, a friend of mine, also a blogger, was successful with his blog. He gets not less than 60,000 monthly visitors. The funniest thing is that I’ve been in the blogging field before him but it seemed he’s my ‘master’. I always wondered how he did it and later I came to realize that I’m the reason behind my ‘failure’. I was making so many mistakes. Most of them were so common that I overlooked them not Knowing they’re the basics to attracting blog visitors.

Many bloggers, I believe, especially when starting out, has made these mistakes at one point in time. It’s normal. Blogging is an ongoing process, so we make mistakes, learn from them and make adjustments where necessary.

However, I see so many bloggers still making these mistakes (you may be one of them) and I always wonder may be they’re not aware or something. That’s why I decided to write this article explaining 5 most dangerous mistakes that drives away visitors from your blog. Like I said earlier, most of them are common, but you have to take them seriously and make amendments.

1. Bad Blog Design

You might have heard: “You don’t judge a book by it’s cover”. To some extent, it’s true but don’t let that deceive you. Visitors judge a website by it’s ‘cover’ (i.e the design). Having a bad blog design is terrible. Imagine navigating on a website with poor/unstructured navigation menu, conflicting colors, unresponsive images, eye-soaring fonts or texts etc. I bet you won’t take up to 10 seconds to hit the ‘back’ button. If that’s the case, Why give your blog a bad design?

If you don’t have web design skills, hire a professional web designer. Make sure the blog is good and responsive, if possible, try to contact a blog consultant to survey your blog and tell you where amendments are needed. The survey may come at a cost or free depending on the understanding between both of you but it’s worth it.

2. Writing for yourself, not your audience

Have you ever engaged in a conversation where the other person only talks about himself as if you’re not there with him? You feel how awkward and irritating it is. Similarly, writing for only yourself irritate your visitors. For God’s sake, they are the reason you started the blog at the first place, and writing only to please yourself means that they should back off; they aren’t wanted. You have to carry them along; write in a two-person conversational manner. For instance, instead of always saying “I”, why not use “you”. It’s more personal and your visitors will fell engaged.

However, I’m not saying you shouldn’t put your own personality into your content or add a post or two about something that happened to you and is noteworthy, but write about stuffs that interests your audience. Readers are selfish. They want information they can use. so find a way to provide it.

3. Poor writing

If you want to impress your readers, then you need to have good writing. Remember, your focus should always be helping people – especially if you plan to make money and so, take time to research the facts and ideas in your posts. Make sure you proofread before posting. use spell check and review your readability statistics. Always bear one thing in mind – poor writing is a surefire way to turn away new readers.

4. Slow website loading time

Visitors hate low speed websites. In fact, if your blog’s load time is slow, you’re indirectly telling your visitors to back off and never come back again. Also, your google page rank will be negatively affected and you know what it means. It was discovered in a recent survey that blog visitors can only, at most, wait for 2 seconds for a site to load, thereby creating the need to make blogs load faster.

5. Lack of focus

Focus. I’ve have to find focus in what I’m doing before seeing appreciable results. I’m a tech blogger and Internet marketer. That’s my focus and I build my blog around it at one time or another.

Many bloggers make the mistake of covering every topic and they loose their clarity. This annoys readers. Imagine visiting tech blog and you end up seeing sports articles, you would be confused and eventually annoyed.

Stay on one topic. Develop expertise in your niche. Become an authority. That’s the key.

6. Not responding to comments

Readers come to your blog to find a solution. If in any case they drop a comment, respond to it. It shows you really want to help them.

Well, I’m guilty as charged. I made this mistake back then but not anymore. Right now, I respond to every comments on my blog.

Try to do the same. Click through to visit other blogs. Network. Grow your friend base.

7. Not using images

“An image speaks more than a thousand words”. I believe you’ve heard something like that. There’s truth in that statement. Images appeals the eye. Man cannot live on bread alone, likewise bloggers can not live on text alone. Readers feel bored to read long posts without images to break the ice at one point in time. Spice up your posts with images.

Conclusion:

Admit it, you might be making a fewer of these mistakes. be honest with yourself. You don’t have to feel bad, it’s normal to make mistakes. But the bad part is ignoring them. So address ’em and correct your steps.

What other blogging mistakes have you noticed? What steps are you taking to correct them? Feel free to share your thoughts with us.

WebmastersHere’s The Reason Behind The Two Lines Across The Back Of Iphone by PMenaha(op): 11:13pm On Jan 03, 2017
iPhone is undoubtedly one of the best smartphone in the world. Its design is unique and appealing; no wonder over 100 million people use it. If you’re an iPhone fan, like me, you’ll agree to the fact that the smartphone possesses amazing features. Each model attract the users with its glossy look.
However, if you turn your iPhone 6 or 6s over, you’ll see two horizontal lines on the back – one at the top and the other at the bottom. You may see it as a way of giving the smartphone a stunning look, if that’s what you think, my dear, you’re wrong. There’s something more to it.
Apple – as we all know, the production company of iPhone – always tries to make the iPhone the best smartphone and can never design one without a particular feature.

If that’s the case, why put those two lines on the back? There’s an interesting reason behind it.

Here is the answer:

The two lines serves as the phone’s antenna. Through those lines signals can escape. These lines are also present in the previous models of iPhone but were not visible because previous models made use of glass back panel. Signals easily pass through glass and that’s why most phones use back panels made up of glass, plastic, ceramic etc. The iPhone 6 and 6s make use of aluminum back panel and signals cannot escape through an aluminum. So there must be way for signals to escape otherwise network signal strength will be poor. Already many iPhone users have been complaining about this and so apple decided to put the two plastic lines you see on the back. Those lines create a pathway for signals to escape.

Lines not on iPhone 7

The iPhone 7 do not have these lines as apple replaces the metal antenna with a plastic one. With a new composite metal of aluminum, signals can easily escape thereby increasing signal strength.
And that’s it..

Surprised? you don’t have to. Apple always wants its customers to be satisfied with the most attractive smartphone. I’m sure as an iPhone user that’s what you would want.

WebmastersLocal Vs Foreign Affiliate Program: Which One Is Best To Promote As A Blogger? by PMenaha(op): 12:20am On Dec 21, 2016
It’s no longer news that the e-commerce industry in Nigeria has boomed. Initially it used to be Amazon and eBay as the only online market to buy from. But today, it’s a different story as now we do have the likes of Jumia, Konga, Jiji and so many others.

When it comes to getting products especially latest gadgets, Nigerians rush to mainly Konga or Jumia and this has created an opportunity for bloggers and internet marketers in Nigeria to earn some cash.

Unlike those days when Google Adsense used to be the only source of income for bloggers, affiliate marketing in Nigeria is booming rapidly. This is evident in the high number of bloggers promoting Amazon, eBay, Jumia and Konga through their affiliate link.

Personally, I’ve worked with different affiliate programs both local and foreign and I must say, some of them was worth the effort.

A lot of issues have raised concerning local and foreign affiliate programs. Some bloggers in Nigeria claims foreign affiliate program pay higher (as they pay in US dollars) and thus the best, while others prefer local as it easy to set up. There are arguments here and there and this gets potential affiliate marketers more confused.

As a result, I have decided to share my experience with both foreign and local affiliate networks, their pros and cons all in this article.

Local Affiliate Program:

With thousands of sales per day, we can’t deny the fact that our local E-commerce sites are doing great. Konga, for instance, reportedly makes 2,000 sales every day. Jumia on the other hand makes almost the same thing. Though there are few negative feedback that the Konga and Jumia affiliate program is loosely coded and tracking is not so strong.

Pros of Local Affiliate Programs:

1. It’s easy to set up an affiliate account.
2. Since they pay in Naira, collecting your money is really simple.
3. Most Nigerians buy products from local affiliate programs so the conversation rate is high

Cons of Local Affiliate Program:

1. The Naira currency value you’re paid with is low compared with dollars foreign affiliate programs pays.
2. There are reports that earnings which shows up on the panel might decrease later and in some cases, totally disappear.
3. There are also reports of delay in payment.
4. Low commission rate.
5. No daily reports is one drawback I found though you may have weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.

Foreign Affiliate Programs:

Indeed, foreign affiliate programs are the most sort out among Nigerian bloggers for various reasons.

Pros of Foreign Affiliate Programs:

1. Daily reports and properly sorted out earnings, order reports.
2. Most of them like amazon and eBay are reputable companies, so no need to fear about your money unless you went against their terms and conditions.
3. With the current value of Naira in the market, being paid in dollars by foreign affiliate programs is a huge plus.

Cons of Foreign Affiliate Programs:

1. As a Nigerian, account verification is not easy. you have to go through a lot of processes.
2. Receiving your payment is also another task. it’s simple though if you follow the right channel.
3. Their commission rate especially on amazon are low.

Both local and foreign affiliate program are good. If you’re a beginner in affiliate marketing in Nigeria, I would recommend you start with the local ones. The above analysis is based on my opinion and experience.

What about you? What other suggestions do you have? Which one do you prefer? feel free to share your comment with us. One love!

WebmastersRe: Why Are Bloggers Writing Shorter And Shorter Posts? by PMenaha: 3:15pm On Nov 18, 2016
Writing shorter or longer post depends on the niche and the writer. If it's a news article, the writer just go straight to the point. For some niche, it requires longer post, but most readers don't have that time to read. Some Nigerians, for instance, don't like spending more than 5 minutes reading a particular post. They just want the main jist and you can't waste their time, otherwise they move to the next page. Having discovered that, bloggers write to suite their audience.
PhonesWhatsapp Video Calling Invitation Message IS Fake by PMenaha(op):
It’s no longer news that the much anticipated video calling feature is now available on WhatsApp for Android and iOS. A huge plus for the company. It’s users has since then expressed their joy in this wonderful improvement.

However, it has been reported that many users are receiving and sharing a scam link claimed to be an invitation to activate the video calling feature. The invitation message is, of course, a scam and clicking on it could expose your device to unwanted vulnerabilities.

How the scam works

When a user taps on the link (‘whatsapp.org.videocallenable.co’), he/she is directed to a ‘WhatsApp-like’ page .

The page is programmed in way that it matches the App’s colour pattern and background. It even has screenshots of the video calling feature and a middle green button claimed to activate WhatsApp video calling.

Tapping on the link, the user is led to another page asking he/she to spread the message by inviting more friends on WhatsApp.

The site seeks user details in form of ‘user verification’ process and could possibly download a malicious app.

Therefore, we plead with all WhatsApp users to be careful and look out for this scam as not to fall victim. WhatsApp has already announced that the video call feature is going to be a staged rollout and if you don’t get this feature now, do not worry, it will be available to you in subsequent days. Clicking on a scam link like this makes matters worst for you.
