I am not Zelensky, I can't speak for Ukraine. I don't know what victory means to them. Fighting off a major invasion by a supposedly world power and still retaining your sovereignty may seem like victory to some. Losing some lands may also be victory to some against total annihilation. Victory might also be driving Russia away from Ukrainian lands and taking back Crimea. Victory here is subjective.

It's more complicated than it seems. If Putin launches nukes at Ukraine, would any NATO country want to retaliate, knowing they might get hit back? Most people would realize pretty quickly that they should stay out of it, and most nations' nukes would be activated if anyone used theirs. That's just part of the nuclear deal. It's complicated stuff.

Did you read what you wrote. Over 800km of Russia border is Finland and Sweden who are Nato members. They joined Nato because of Russia agression towards Ukraine and why did Putin not attack both countries? He did not cos those two countries has superior firepower when compared to Ukraine and he was thinking Ukraine will be a walk in the park. This war has opposed Russia and Putin are all noise and nobody cares about him now. Before the war, Ukraine will not in.millions years fire towards Russia but now, it's daily occurance and even attacks people inside Russia.

From a Russian perspective, Ukraine is not just a neighboring country, it is a larger part of the Soviet Union. Allowing Ukraine to join NATO is like letting your wife go to your opponent's house and having her get involved in a g!ng-bang.

NATO refused Ukraine Joining it since 2008, when Ukraine and other non NATO members then, were sacred of Russian invasion.
Before Ukraine, NATO already has its boarders with Lithuania and Estonian, has NATO invaded Russia since then.

If Ukraine joins NATO, it means that the USA will have its bases close to Russia. If something happens in the future, the USA can easily attack Russia.
