You must be very wicked. You're in your early twenties and you're claiming you don't want to discipline her in an old way. Which old way do you know? Are you not a Gen Z? You even had the gut to say you don't want to flog her because the School forbids flogging. So, if not you would have been flogging someone that is almost your age mate because you're teaching her. |

Greetings To You All. The Boom in IGR in Enugu State, Does it Have An Equal Effect On The People? I marveled and pondered for a while when the news hit my Palm, the sudden rise of Enugu State internal generated revenue. As the figures state; Enugu State gulped up to one hundred and eighty billion, fifty million naira (180.50bn) in 2024 fiscal year. Is this a sign of relief? I became nervous and began to ask questions, how could Enugu State, my State rank fifth among the thirty-six States of the federation in terms of IGR. My nervousness led me to a couple of friends, as we were sitting, having a bottle or two while watching with excitement as Manchester United cruised past Sunderland FC of England 2:0 without the Opposing team registering even a single goal, is that the first clean sheet of the Season? On the course of the discussion, I was told a few things that are ongoing in Enugu State, and the new proposed systemic taxation, pending the approval of the State house of Assembly. Although, Popp has not verified it to confirm it. I then asked, is Governor Peter N Mbah's socioeconomic reforms going to be a blessing or a thorn on the fresh of Enugu people? It's unequivocally clear that the Governor is learning from his master, President Tinubu, but the question that's begging for an answer is, are these reforms and taxation on our people also have the same effect on the dividend of the democratic government we drive? We all know the United Kingdom and how they tax their Citizens to the extreme, but it's not arguable that the unemployment rate is abysmally low for the UKs, major or the basic needs of live like food, shelter and clothing poses little or no challenge to these people. Infrastructural advancement is top notch, security is off the hook, Hospitals are well equipped and many more that I cannot be counting. It is not just to tax and press our necks, the governor needs also to leave no stone unturned in making sure that his administration penetrates all the nooks and crannies of Enugu State. I am expecting a federal line, (33.10) to be stepped down in Enugu Urban, Nsukka, Orji River, Ukehe, Udi, Agwu and many more places. Not just to make some of these places "Urban" with the sole aim of pressing our neck in terms of taxation which I don't even know if I will call it extortion. Here comes my question, since the sudden rise of internal generated revenue of Enugu State is the off spring of our amiable governor's economic reforms, do they also have the same effect on the daily lives of the people of Enugu State? |
I calmed my nerves to read the story to see if their is any thing else I would see. Is it not the Mateta that I watch? He has no skill, I can't sign him to a big Club if I am the Couch. Truthfully, take a closer look at that man, is he twenty-eight years? |
